Wasn't there some kind of UltraViolet cloud movie watching app for the PS3? I swear y'all were talking about that at some point, but a web store search only gives some horrible looking Milla Jovovich movie.

You can play them on VUDU. They were recently having a promotion where you get five free movies when you sign up with them, not sure if it's still in effect.

Ok thanks. That's the one. Did the 10 free movies from Target Ticket as well as the 10 free from Best Buy Cinema Now and wanted a way to watch them that wasn't my phone or crappy lappy.

EDIT:
The five free from Vudu is still going too. So I now have 25 free (older) movies for not a single Amy. TECHNOLOGY!

Thanks for mentioning those, I signed up for them too. It sucks that Target and Best Buy only give out the SD versions of the movies though, but ah well, free is free.

You trophy card and completion rate kind of makes me feel there's a little truth to that. Typical Yankee lifestyle though. Why do something on my own when I can take the easy way out!

But you can see Vita games on the PS3 store, despite not being able to play them on the system. But I wouldn't call it strange either. What is weird is that I flattened my Genesis copy of Shining Force 2 and put it in my PS3, but I can't redeem a digital copy from the PSN store. Now THAT is strange.

Dumb question, but do PS4 users show up on your PS3 friends list? I have a pal playing NFS and I don't see him online. I can see him on my Vita, so I'm guessing the answer to my question is no?

I've had a few friends message me via their PS3s. PSN has been iffy since the launch of Friday. The problem may resolve itself over the next few days once things stabilize.

Because you can use the PS3 to backup and transfer content to the Vita.

if its like people who are online with the vita they will be at the bottom of the list under everyone whos offline, and it wont actually show them as online they will just sort of be in a weird limbo at the bottom there. thats how vita users have always shown up for me on the ps3.

Just checked my list and peeps playing PS4 games according to the PlayStation app show as offline on my PS3. Except the one dude that shows PS4 Sound Shapes in the app and YouTube on my PS3. 👽
 
Was the release date for the NBA Live 14 demo a typo on The Drop? It says it came out 11/15 but I thought it comes out on Tuesday.

Can we just assume PSN will be doing something for Black Friday?  I remember them doing something last year for that week.  Then again they have already been having some awesome sales.  Still afraid to buy anything with PS Plus though, just bought Soul Sacrifice about a month ago on sale.

 
PS + frightens me so much, I can't even log into the store. Kind of sucks, because it would be nice to get the free games. But I know as soon as I buy the free game, they will start paying people to download it.

Ahhh, that's what that means. I thought it was just PSN bugging out on me when I saw people like that, so I've even gone so far as to delete people when they kept showing up like that on my friends list... turns out they were just big Vita fans.

Unless you have unlimited funds and infinite time to never have a backlog being frugal really isn't a bad thing. When you have a backlog big enough one can afford to be wary of spending money. That $20 I spent on Soul Sacrifice and $10 on Strangers Wrath a month ago could have went to get a year of ps plus on BF. I'm not complaining mind you, just saying it makes you think more about what you buy especially if you aren't going to get around to the games for awhile. Certainly not worth getting snarky over.

If you follow this thread regularly you see every month when the games are announced at least a half dozen of us swear off buying games. Unfortunately I don't think a one of us has actually followed through on that.

Exactly, thats why I didn't say I wasn't going to buy anything. Just wondering if they are going to have a killer BF sale but I would still think carefully about what I buy. Can anybody who has PS Plus honestly say they DON'T think twice before hitting the buy button even on game sales? I don't want to continue this tangent I never even intended, I honestly didn't think what I said was that outrageous so please just continue on with the thread.

Was really just wondering if they would have a BF sale and if so what is there to put on sale, PM some retail game sales digitally? $35 TLoU, GTAV?

Well, Vita games are on the PS3 interface since you can transfer games from the PS3, back up saves, etc., so it's a little different. Sorry to hear about Shinng Force II.
 
Unrelated to deals but I figure you guys might be familiar with the issue since I'm at my wits end with this.

I'm having an issue where I go through HDMI to put out 1080p on my 42 Inch LG5400, I'm getting picture/sound cut offs from time to time on my PS4. I actually had the same issue with my PS3 which I worked around by just using component cables but I don't have that option on my PS4. Anyone happen to be familiar with this issue and have a possible work around that doesn't involve me replacing my TV?

I've tried different ports, different HDMI cables, and tried hooking it up to different TVs without issue. 

Thoughts?

ive definitely sworn off buying things on PSN that arent on sale that im not going to play immediately and actually followed through on that.

So I don't know if people know, but Resogun is awesome and everyone should pick it up immediately. Leave it to Housemarque to put out another fresh shmup for all to enjoy.

I knew about Driveclub since it was supposed to be a launch title. Good to know about the rest. Haven't heard of any but Binding of Isaac and I've only heard of it and know nothing else about it.

Which I still think is great. Its amazing that they are giving PS4 games away to begin with, even if they aren't full retail games I still am enjoying them thus far.



This. When they announced the Vita I thought that PS+ wouldn't extend to the new system but I was pleasantly surprised when it was. Here we are again and Sony has made me a happy gamer.
 
Outlast is that horror survival game that looked pretty awesome in the PC previews where all you have is a video camera and you're in a abandoned mental asylum trying to get to the bottom of what goes on there.  Average is an 80 on Metacritic.  Definitely looking forward to it.

the whole point of buying a game is that you will ALWAYS have access to the game....regardless if your PLUS sub expires or not.....If hypothetically speaking PSN PLUS is dismantled in 5 years, you will still have that game you purchased instead of losing access

and also people can speculate and hedge their bets on which game will become an instant collection game......doesnt mean that the game will end up being an instant collection game

If Plus is dismantled in five years, nothing is stopping you from paying for the game then.

 
how do the free ps4 games work with ps+? I got my ps4 but am waiting till next week to open it. I want to wait for traffic to die down and make sure the patch is ok. Will resogun, contrast, and stuff all still be free to d.load or are they only up this week?

I ask because i cant seem to access the ps4 store on the ps3 so i cant really check. I want to make sure i can get those games if i set my ps4 up next weekend or sometning
