So you don't like that this game has a actual draft? Well I guess you're only options are that you can try to create a player put him on the cavs and play an association or play those other sports games. I still don't see how this is a mistake.
I don't like that it's the only option. It's a mistake to not meet the standards for the genre and offer more options. Let me skip all of the draft stuff and just pick the team I'd like to start with.

I still like and enjoy the game and the career mode, but the lack of that option makes it a less fun experience because I can't play with the team I want to play with.

It's the original. It's been on EU PSN for over 2 years already. Not sure what took so long for them to get it out over here. I have it on my Galaxy S3 I think (and possibly Steam too) but would prefer to play it on PSN.
For whatever reason, SCEA's blocked a few games from release in NA a few years ago. I know Flight Control was another game that was released in pretty much every other region and they even went so far as to block the developer from giving review codes to NA review outlets, so I ended buying the English version of that off of the Hong Kong store. Now that Two Tribes is working on bringing their other games to PS4/Vita, it seems like SCEA has stopped blocking Toki Tori.

I wouldn't care if both options were in the game. I just don't see how it's a mistake that the only option is a real draft.
That is the mistake, not including both. It works well for you (it also is my preference). But just because it works the way I like, doesn't mean it's not a mistake to cover both sides when it would be so easy for them to do so.

I have Journey/flow/flower on disc :/ if only I could get them to recognize these games... so I can download the crossbuy version on my Vita

was the Escape Plan DLC ever free?

EDIT: thinking whether I should get One Piece Warriors 2 hmmm

Beat Knack. I enjoyed that game quite a bit, though I can easily see why the reviews were so low. The mechanics don't evolve at all throughout the campaign, so those trying to rush through it would obviously be more affected by the tedium more than those that can take their time to get through it. I did like that they opted to evolved the complexity of the enemies and their attacks instead of adding more or more complex combos to Knack's repertoire, which goes with the increasing size throughout each chapter to make those hard enemies a piece of cake at the end like how fun Katamari Damacy is at the end of the stage.

I may actually play through it again after playing more of the puzzle game app to help me get more crystals and the remaining gadgets.

No. They were on sale for dirt cheap at launch.

Lmao. I'm sorry but you're whole post just made my day. I didn't know that option was a standard in this genre.

Yes, there are standards for modes across the genre that the best games have set that fans expect the others to meet or exceed. MLB The Show set the standard for career modes ages ago and nobody has yet to beat them with the variety of options and features that they offer.

MLB 14's new forward compatible franchise/career saves will set a standard that fans have been wanting for any sports game for well over a decade now, which will put pressure on EA and 2K to offer the same option for their games.

If you're okay with what NBA 2K offers now, that's fine, but there's no need to be condescending about others having higher expectations for this huge franchise.

Who the fuck wants to play for the Cavs?
Actually it's pretty good

You have a point guard who's coming into one of the best in the league and a big man who can give you quality minutes defensively and give you some offense as well.

If you play someone at the 2-4 you could make a pretty good run your rookie year.

Plus once you get a championship you'll be a God there.

I'm sooooo sorry for ever questioning you. You are always right. And just so you you know I'm not fine with how 2k is but it's for more important reasons than choosing what team I want to play on.

If you really like your Pinball Arcade, they're actually releasing a physical PS4 version for $39.99. I'd guess that they include a bunch of tables, probably Season 1, but the product page doesn't have any specifics.
Weird, no specifics on their Facebook announcement, either. The pinballarcadefans forum also knows nothing. You'd think they'd want to advertise what's on the disc. Blarg. This was going to be a day one download for me, but if there's a retail version, I have to wait to see what's on it.

In any case, thanks for posting this and alerting me to the retail release!

Edit: after more digging it looks like it's just season 1 on the disc.

Just don't play with the rosters where they've taken Bynum out and Irving is playing terrible.

You could also come in, be amazing, get to the brink and then take your talents elsewhere in a Chrysler LeBaron.

Wow, how did I miss this?!? I own Pinball Hall of Fame (retail) everywhere it came out, and digital versions of Pinball Arcade everywhere too. Had no idea they were releasing a physical PS4 version. I wonder what tables will be on it?

Thanks for the melodramatic condescending post. I don't know why you can't just post with a little decency rather than trying to mock me for wanting a new way to play that mode.

I never said that was a major flaw with the game or anything like that, but in terms of career modes, which was the original topic that Eldritch was talking about. If you want me to talk about bigger things, there's the microtransaction-infested, broken economy that they've based every mode on since last year's game and then there are the broken online modes that I've seen plenty of 2K fans complaining about for years, but I don't play sports games online anymore since career mode is what I buy them for. So

They just announced it on their Twitter/FB accounts, so you'd only know if you searched for Pinball Arcade on Amazon every day.

I see. But Amazon says it released 12/10, and although they don't currently have any in stock, some 3rd party sellers do. I guess they just kept it secret before the retail release.

Farsight has the worst marketing department ever.  If they even have one.

Apparently it's 22 tables, which means the four core and the 18 in season one.  I'm assuming it's the pro version of season one, but who knows, because they've announced no specifics.  The chatter is that the retail came out first because the digital was held up to ensure that PS3 owners could get the discount for already owning the tables when they buy them for PS4.

When will the game be released digitally?

I figure with all the updates digital is the way to go for it

If you want me to talk about bigger things, there's the microtransaction-infested, broken economy that they've based every mode on since last year's game and then there are the broken online modes that I've seen plenty of 2K fans complaining about for years, but I don't play sports games online anymore since career mode is what I buy them for. So
I was trying to post with some decency until you tried to make it seem like my opinion of the draft was stupid and that yours was without a doubt correct. You are the first person I have heard complain about that option not being in the game. And to be honest in the sports games I've played this generation I have never noticed the feature to choose what team you want to play on so I thought it was strange that someone was complaining about a getting drafted.

Uhh, you were the one mocking my issue with the lack of an option from the start by explaining to me how drafts work.

So I have Ni No Kuni on the left and Tales of Xillia on the right. Just finished DMC and wondering which one should be the next on my list (kinda leaning towards Ni No)

Actually it's pretty good

You have a point guard who's coming into one of the best in the league and a big man who can give you quality minutes defensively and give you some offense as well.

If you play someone at the 2-4 you could make a pretty good run your rookie year.

Plus once you get a championship you'll be a God there.
But you live in Cleveland.

so it looks like my 4 year old DualShock 3 is starting to malfunction, now when I press down the left stick, it'll input the d-pad up command four out of five times, very annoying in games like Far Cry 3... has anybody experienced this kind of malfunction before?

I never throw my controllers, but I do press on it pretty hard I suppose...

Ni No is ahead of Xillia in my mountain of shame/bed.
I've been getting back into Ni No Kuni and it's a really good JRPG. Go for that.
Ni No Kuni it is. Sigh I know the backlog dislikes the idea 100%, especially since I was in the middle of GTA5, have all the DLC for Skyrim and haven't even beaten the main story and then the rest of the games. At least I survived BF and only got Ni No and Tales. Oh and just finish TLOU and DMC so I am feeling proud :D

I figured out how to browse PS3 content from the PS4's PS Store, though this doesn't make it playable or anything like that. You can just browse PS3 games from the PS Store and purchase them if you want. It's not a perfect solution, but it's as good as you can get until they offer it on there without restrictions. This guide will use screenshots I took on the PS4, so I'll spoiler them for easy viewing:

Step 1: Download DC Universe Online if you haven't already. There's an ad for DLC called The Origin Pack. Click on that.

Step 2: It brings you to the PS Store page for it, but you'll notice the recommendations are PS3 games.

Step 3: Hit down and you'll see a brief list of related PS3 games.

Step 4: Click on something to go to its page, which will then have recommendations of its own so you can just repeat Steps 3 and 4 ad nauseum.

To add to this, screenshots, videos, and all of the other stuff that is available on a game's page is also viewable and purchasable. You can even like them or rate them and it'll show up on the What's New feed. As a caveat, you can't add this PS3 stuff to your cart to purchase them all together, so you have to purchase them individually. It's not really anything major in terms of convenience, but this at least shows that that stuff is very much accessible in the PS4's PS Store in a limited capacity.

Been playing NHL 14 for a bit and have to say that it really isn't all that impressive. I played NHL 11 a lot and this game feels very different. It seems like there is just a bunch of bullshit in it like (1) the puck being right in front of my guy but he doesn't get it, (2) I'll be past a guy but it goes into the animation of me being pressed up against the glass, (3) I lay a guy out on the ground but he still gets to the loose puck before me because he can get up in half a second (they also seems to always be faster going to loose pucks), and (4) their goalie is like a super human and saves everything.

I'm playing on All-Star and it is a bit difficult but the next level down is way too easy. I guess I'll just have to get used to this difficulty and get better.

Well I just finished Knack and I think it was well worth my time, even more so since my daughter got to watch most of it.  Also played 95% of it on the Vita.  Not looking forward to beating it on very hard with all the cheap one hit deaths that were already there in hard but otherwise the plat seems very doable.

Mine is 3 years old and I'm also getting the occasional random button press. Supposedly this helps, I'll probably try it soon:

Have you tried using an air duster can on it? I know my controllers get worn plastic residue build up from the analog sticks wearing down, so usually once a month or so I blow them out with an air duster and it seems to keep the buttons working better.

I don't even take the thing apart, just blast around the buttons and sticks with the straw.

Also, I saw Amazon has some of the colored DS3's for $35, so now is a decent time to buy a new one if you decide you need it.

I'm looking to buy the PS4 Protection Plan through Sony on PSN, but I got it at launch and it says that I have to purchase the plan within 30 days.  Anyone know if today would count as the 30th or 31st day? Don't wanna have someone tell me a couple years from now that I missed the deadline by a day so the plan is void or something. Thanks in advance...

hey thanks for sharing this! I'm going to try it out tomorrow!
Yeah, thanks from me too! I started getting some random menus coming up in the heat of battle in my last couple of Skyrim sessions and thought I had broken the controller, but it sounds like this foam strip issue is what I have going on.

Tuesday is a crazy day for vita releases. Lots of long delayed releases finally hitting all at once. Odd the Zen Pinball is not on the drop for PS4. Thought that was a done deal for Tuesday.

I was hoping they took those out. I played it at PAX and was surprised they had that cheap crap in there. :/

I'm still undecided on One Piece Warriors 2. argh
If you like Dynasty Warriors style games, go for it. I wasn't really a fan of the manga/anime (I read it in Shonen Jump back in the day, but stopped around the time they met the transforming Reindeer) so I don't know who most of the characters are, but the game is lots of fun so far.
