Yes it will, that is part of the issue. They wanted a full package for retail release to go along with the Amiibo that are also coming at the same time.

No. I regret how much time I invested into Darksiders II. It was way too long and repetitive. The fun wore off about 1/3 of the way through the game and never really came back. Plus the ending was really anticlimactic. When I finally beat it I didn’t even realize that it was the final battle until it was over. And I was like “oh, that was the end?”

Oh no doubt that. I own the game for two 3DS's, XBox One, PS4(and Vita) and the Switch. It's amazing. I just don't like how last year they announced "We're going to combine Showdown and King of Cards, and you get both next April" that turned into "its going to take us several more months to deliver". That's scope creep, and they should have focused on finishing the next chapter, then moving resources to finish the arena mode in a future patch.

Project planning involves setting appropriate deadlines that can be met, particularly when you announce release dates to the public. If you can't meet it for an expanded scope, you need to scale it back to the original delivery plan. And you can suck at project planning, but be great at game design - which they are. After all, people play Shovel Knight because it is a kickass side scrolling adventure game. Having to wait for the next chapter of the core game design in order to get a completely different genre mode is a little bothersome. They seem to think Showdown can stand on its own, so why not just do another future patch and devote resources towards finishing KoC, then put the full team on Showdown after a timely delivery? I think the answer to that is marketing wanted a full package to sell in stores and ramp up the price to $40, and felt they couldn't justify that until they had a finished product.

Treasure Trove is out now, so if you already have the game, you get that final update when they're out in December.

Dig is a new game. The King of Cards update is the final piece of content coming to Treasure Trove.

Well, I finally did it. I earned all 12 silver, gold and platinum passes on the (now defunct) Sony Rewards plan. I did the math and it comes out to a total of 16,200 points, or $160 (and change) redeemed entirely in PSN credit. Not too shabby. I will miss this perk and motivation for going for trophies in the future. Honestly, the drive just isn't there anymore.

I'm going to guess that fans of the series aren't going to like the change in combat style. You can tell the dev is also iffy as he says they'll gladly go back if the style isn't accepted. The turn based clip I saw does not look appealing as you are controlling a party and I suspect there is no way you will feel like a bad ass like the original style does. I'm still going to get it though because Yakuza.

If anyone is interested, wreckfast is $33.99 at Target and Walmart. 15% off a new (to ps4) release... also has really good reviews as a modern demolition derby

Wreckfest is great. Been playing it since it came out. Lots of modes, difficulty settings from casual to realistic, car mods, car tuning, mud vs street, arenas, race tracks, manual or automatic [actually, lots of customization for driving difficulty], fun destruction, armor adds weight, silly derbies like lawnmowers....

Super fun. My kid loves it too, i just set it on easy and he has a blast. On hard, it is damn hard. Worth every penny.

Never played the first, the art style didn't appeal to me. This one looks better but I don't know if it's easy to get into. The game's tough from what I read. I'd consider it for solo and two player online with my brother.
