diablo 3 was bad compared to diablo 2 and other modern top down action rpgs if you ask me. but for 15 bucks its a decent romp.

the platinum is tedious, the end game is repetitive, the combat is just button spam till everything on the screen is dead. Very little strategy is required for most builds.

Also I played online with a stranger one time and suddenly my legend level went from 1 to like 200 or something, so the community is filled with cheaters.

It’s one of my favorite games of all time, and there’s still a fairly active community. With that said, I am glad that D4 is apparently going back to a darker tone...if it ever comes out lol
 
Just finally finished TLOU last night. Man what a fucking ride it was. So glad I gave it another shot. Def one of my favorite games this decade. Can’t wait to dive into part 2 tonight.

It really doesn’t matter how much it sells, it doesn’t mean it’s a good game. That’s like picking a random rap artist that has 10 million views on YouTube in a few days, does that automatically make them a good artist? You don’t have to follow sheep all of your life lol.

I played the first one when it came out, I thought it was ok, nothing special, that is why I will sit the sequel out until it’s cheap enough. I’m in no rush to play it after the first game.

I already know the plot and even then I get what they did and why they did it. I wanna experience it myself lol

Plus my buddy works for Sony so I got the game for $25.

It's just more of the same gameplay (which isn't everyone's cup of tea) and that makes it bad?

Sad but that's where 90% of the review bombing is coming from.

Also people read spoilers and how to feel about those spoilers on the internet and now they can't form their own opinions or get past what they read.

It's a cool game though.

Naughty Dog games bore me to death, their development culture is toxic, and the story spoilers I read are legit stupid, but I still wanted to play a big budget mainstream game starring lesbian main characters. Kind of a big deal. So I put a hold on LoU2 at my local library & it's available for me to pick up on Monday.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, there are other options besides actually buying the game.

I finished it the other day and really enjoyed it. Turns out that people may like something even if others don't. What a novel concept.

As for the LGBT+ stuff - I'm a parent and strong advocate for the rights. I'm not offended nor did "I" think ND stepped over a line. The characters were strong and courageous. I'd be proud if my daughter ever displayed half of the courage and/or strength that ND wrote in to these characters. (given the storyline and setting of the game)

 
TLoU 2 is really good so far. I'm 18 hrs in. I like that everything has been a surprise. The trailers intentionally misdirected people Kojima style. I completely avoided spoilers and really enjoy the direction they took with the story. Game play is a refined version of the first game. Good stuff!

 
Glad to see some LoU2 positivity here. Bought it on release and played it over 3 days in three 8 hour chunks. As a whole, I enjoyed it a lot. I really feel like the exact same game would have been received much better had the sequence in which things were presented been done differently. My major gripe was how much the first 12 hours or so had me locked in, but then over the next 8 or so hours I just wanted to rush to get back to that. I think other than the flashbacks to months and years earlier, it would have been much more enjoyable to just play the present day material in chronological order. One might argue that would remove tension from the first half of the game, but that is what I felt made the second half a lot less enjoyable. There was pretty much zero tension in the second half because you know what you are building up to.

First 3 hours was great for me. The last 3 hours (regardless how you feel about the direction they went) was solid for me. That middle 18 hours was good, solid, fun gameplay, but the story was told in a way that seemed unnecessary. Can I get a director’s cut? Maybe I’ll make a bunch of manual saves and play them in the order I’d have liked the second time around.

Pretty much all of the game's cinematics/story got leaked and a lot of people were not happy with the direction they took the story. So those people, the "all sony games are bad", and the homophobes review bombed it at launch. From what I've seen from people that actually played it, the gameplay itself is good, people who enjoyed the first game's gameplay will enjoy the sequel. However the story is very divisive.
 
Since IGN's Summer Gaming event has ended, has there been any news on when the next conference from Playstation will be held?

Go read some user reviews, bud. The vast vast vast majority of them talking about Naughty Dog injecting "stupid SJW shit into my video games!" "There's no reason to have characters talk so much about what sexuality they are in a video game that has nothing to do with that!"

If you want to be blind and ignorant to it then that's on you, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

That's good to hear for those that like the gameplay of the first one I guess. Sucks for everyone else who didn't care for it.

 
I’m about 2 hours in and I’m having fun with the game. Really don’t see why people are so negative towards it. And before you say just wait, I already had read the leaks a long time ago because I thought I’d never play it lol. I feel that people want things a certain way, and when that certain way isn’t fulfilled, they get pissed about it and complain constantly. There’s even a petition going around right now to completely remake the game. fucking stupid.
 
This review seems more negative than positive but isn't done by an "ignorant dipshit" its Fextralife which also does some crazy good collectible guides and other such things.

Also should mention he specifically mentions that he is avoiding any thoughts about agenda and is strictly reviewing the game as... well a game.

I'd say it's the opposite. You can't say you don't like the way something's heading or is made due to forced diversity integration and heavy SJW influences without being called a bigot.

Mind boggling how there are people here in their 30s who are so insecure that they block people who say something they don't like.

Saying that something has "forced diversity" automatically makes you prejudiced against the diversity, hence why you called it "forced." Someone who did not have an issue with acceptance of the topic would not believe that it is "forced," and would otherwise be either indifferent to the depiction, or encourage the normalization of said topic to help broaden the perspective of those who are prejudiced. This is not to be confused with normalization through exaggeration or excessive exposure, which is just annoying. If this game reminded you every 10 seconds of the topic, especially if it's not integral to the plot, then that would be wrong.

Hopefully you all can understand that concept without me having to give examples.

EDIT: Decided to give examples because I'm sure half of you can't think critically.

EXAMPLES:

Scenario 1 -

  • Concept: character in a video game is trans. Characters develop realistically and the plot evolves accordingly. This may involve a character being bullied or excluded for being trans, but the character is not defined solely on the fact that they are trans.
  • Reaction: people complain that there is a trans character/the story revolves around the trans character.
  • Conclusion: the people complaining are prejudiced against trans people by not wanting to experience a story involving a trans person being depicted realistically.
Scenario 2 -

  • Concept: character in a video game is trans. They subsist on the fact that they are trans and never shut the fuck up about it. Being trans is not integral to the plot, but the plot digresses to emphasize how the person is trans.
  • Reaction: people complain about the focus on someone being trans.
  • Conclusion: the character itself is discriminatory, as it objectifies trans people. The complaints are justified. Sure, this may be realistic as well, as there are people who act like this; but those people are wrong to base their worth and importance on that one fact about themselves. It's also okay to dislike people like that, but not because they are trans, but because they have shitty personalities.
Scenario 3 -

  • Concept: a trans person creates a game about being trans to show people how trans people are being treated.
  • Reaction: bigots play the game and dislike it.
  • Conclusion: the game obviously had an agenda from the start. The bigots who played it were completely responsible for their actions and only have themselves to blame.

I'm personally not that bothered with how a bunch of incels justify being offended by a video game by being overly-critical in some trivial review. Just explaining the real logic behind a thought process.
