yeah i try to focus my plats on games that i enjoy. call of duty world at war was my first plat, so you can't say i take too much of the easy road, but yeah...or super easy ones like megamind, lol. hardest part of two worlds 2 i think was that i missed a quest at the beginning and by the time i realized it i was almost 1/2 way through the game. so i started all over. so that sucked, but whatev.

and thanks admiralvic, sold me on dokuro. ill wait it out on the rest considering i already have rayman on ps3 and enough games to last me forever on the vita with just a month's worth of igc and purchases. i have been complaining cuz im not commuting/free time at work enough to play my vita yet. #FirstWorldProblems

np, have fun getting the platinum... it's really not too bad.
Eh, I think the store will update on Monday for the next two weeks (Frisky can probably confirm/deny this). So yeah, no way of knowing what games will be on sale next week before this week's sale ends, so I'm in the same situation as you. I'm only getting Two Worlds II (how to pass on that), Rayman and probably Blue Toad Murder Files, since I love that kind of games. There are others I'm really interested in (Dyad in particular) but I guess I'll wait.
Oh yeah, didn't think of the holidays messing with updates. Hmmmm.....I wonder if we'll get the update blog early then.

Dokuro is that good, huh? I kept waiting and hoping I could get the import cheaper since I really would prefer to have the cartridge, but it will never match 9.99... hmm.

any opinions on Two Worlds 2? Im thinking about getting it but I still have Witcher 2 and Divinity 2 in my backlog. How does it compare in terns of quality/gameplay?
Size of the Two Worlds 2 download? Also does it run ok on PS3? Thanks in advance.
It runs mostly fine, though like any European WRPG, it's not perfect.

While you might like the cart more, the game is 147 (I believe) bite sized puzzles, so you might get more use out of it as digital title. That way you can casually chip away at it without ever changing carts. Also it's only 310 MB according to Frisky, so it's not even that big.

I'm not too worried about switching carts often (only other game I'm working on is LBPV which I'm hating... stupid arcade), or size, since I have a 32GB. I'll have to think about it. I am definitely willing to pay more for a cart though.

OK as long as its not a Bayonetta/Skyrim situation is what I was worried about. Thanks.

So, looking at the PSP Vita-compatible RPGs, I'm considering:

Knights in the Nightmare
Cladun X2
ZHP

Any recommendations or warnings to stay away on those three?

Specifically, I heard KitN has about two hours worth of videos explaining gameplay (rather than interactive tutorials) and then just kind of throws you into action and expects you to remember all of the concepts. Is that accurate? I've never played Yggdra Union, either.

Knights in the Nightmare shows you how to do what that specific tutorial is covering and then has you do it, from what I remember. The nice thing about it having a ton of tutorials, unlike FFT PSP, is that it saves/remembers what you've seen and marks them so you don't have to remember it yourself if you don't have time to go through them all at once. The tutorials are definitely recommended since its mechanics are unique and hard-to-grasp without properly learning about them, though I've still yet to get past that stage from my experience with it.

ZHP is completely awesome in every way. It's a goofy game with a goofy story that knows it's all goofy, which makes it fun to play. The game itself is something of a lite roguelike, though I haven't played it in a while to remember a lot more about the specifics of how it plays. The intro, however, is one of the best that I've ever seen and it'll give you a good idea of what kind of humor it has:

17.9 GB. For future reference, I list sizes of all of the free PS+ games in the OP.

About the PS All-Stars costume DLC. I was under the impression the pack would feature an alt-costume for each character, but I notice some characters are missing (Raiden, Heihachi, Big Daddy, and Dante). Why the missing pack?

My apologies! But damn, that's going to take days on my slow Wifi. Hard to complain when it's free though.

I can confirm big daddy has an alt costume. It's horrible.
my Raiden and Heihachi has alt-costume from DLC
Well, if you got the costumes when you pre-ordered you can have all the costumes. But on the store yesterday all I saw were these:

Bad Dudes: Evil Cole, Kratos, Sweet Tooth and Col. Radec
Classic: Spike, Ratchet, Jak and Sly
Fun: Toro, Parappa, Fat Princess and Nariko
Heroes: Cole, Sackboy, Drake and Sir Dan

The pack that gives you all the costumes says "16 costumes" on it and didn't give the other costumes.
Are the PSASB DLC costumes you can buy the same ones offered as the pre-order bonus thing?
Correct. Sony is selling the preorder code in parts.

Man, I already spent $48 on PSP games because of the NISA sale. I hope Prinny 2 and Disgaea 2 go on sale soon.

thought about getting Escape Plan but I still haven't beat Dokuro..
I think I need to wait to see next week and sale week after that.

Those guys at NIS have some of the most amazing writers in the gaming world. It's all off the wall stuff but it's so well done. It reminds me of Bruce Campbell. All his movies are so bizarre that they actually start to make sense and turn out to actually be really fun to watch.

Quick question on the formatting - is there any way to tell how long sales will last aside from the last week markings? Mainly I'm asking about Two Worlds II, tried the trial, said to heck with it and bought it but apparently if you buy the game during the trial it screws up the whole thing and says you didn't buy it, so I'm waiting on a refund from Sony to re-buy it...should I just buy it again now so I get the good price or wait the week or more for my refund?

Does it show up in your list of purchased items? If so, maybe it would work if you just deleted it and re-downloaded it?

Yeah, game trials fuck things up. The PS Store treats it like you own the game, but the download is of course time locked.

Anybody else remember the big "free PSN games!!!!!" thread? :D
Yeah, game trials fuck things up. The PS Store treats it like you own the game, but the download is of course time locked.
I think they do this now so you don't have that glitch where you can buy the game after downloading the trial and not playing the hour. It ends up with a 1 year expiration date on it from when you downloaded the trial. That happened to a few people.

Rayman Origins on the Vita looks really good on the screen. Seems like nothing was lost in the transition except for multiplayer. The Soul Sacrifice demo looks really good, and really long. Most of the Youtube uploads for the demo are over an hour long.
Also, do all brand new copies of knights in the nightmare include YGGDRA UNION?
Thanks.
I'd like to know this, too.

If I buy KitN in this sale, will I get Yggdra Union? I think that used to be the case, but that was a couple of years ago.
Only have 5 dollars and change in my account, so, If you had to pick only one, what would it be, CAG's?

Two Worlds 2 GOTY or Odin Sphere?
Two Worlds last I played was a terrible series. Unless the GOTY version fixed all the stuff wrong with it which I doubt. Odin Sphere is a good game if you're a fan of arpgs/the style vanillaware uses.
Is Catherine still showing $19 for PS+ members? On Sony's own website they're advertising the Holiday Essentials Sale and shows a $9.80 price for PS+ members: http://us.playstation.com/holidayessentials1/?CMP=dis_us__pn_holessentials_12_18_12_UM_polygon Even their price on Rayman Origins for Vita is wrong.
Damn. A ten dollar price point would be enough to get me to repurchase Catherine, no doubt. Bought it on release and beat the campaign. Freaking loved it. Kinda wish I wouldn't have traded it in.

That was a limited time promotion when the game came out a few years ago, so I doubt it.

There's a big difference in quality between the first and second games, so don't judge the sequel on the sins of the original. Two Worlds II is a pretty good game, especially for $5 or $10.
Yeah there is a difference in quality but not much. I played both games the first one was certifiable garbage and the second one was barely passable. Especially if you actually pay attention to the story of said games and the inconsistencies in the story(second game had many). In my post I didn't think putting "2/II" was needed since the question asked was specifically for II.

For $5 ehh I would say "okay" especially since technically the game does offer quite a bit of content; However, I personally wouldn't wish it on anyone though. But to each their own.

Thanks for the info and your thoughts earlier on the RPGs I asked about, Frisky.

Looks like I'll be getting Two Worlds II for $5 and Doctor Who for $10. Is Doctor Who cross buy? If not I might just get the Vita version.

Just do yourselves a favor go and grab the youtube app on the Japanese Store

I don't know if it was/is on the US Store just grabbed it, since it was released yesterday and it is beyond awesome.

So I grabbed Rayman, which is just amazing. I'm going to get Dokuro sometime in the next two weeks. I'm currently on the fence about Escape Plan. The demo was... okay. The presentation is excellent but the controls are really frustrating and (at least in the demo) the puzzles were not particularly inspired. Reviews of the game are all over the place, but not a single one fails to mention how poorly it controls. I'm not sure if I really want a wonky touchscreen game on my vita when I already have an iPhone and iPad for that sort of thing... Can anyone wholeheartedly reccommend this game or is it just one of those things which was okay when the vita launched, but now there are far better games to spend my time and money on?
Looks like I'll be getting Two Worlds II for $5 and Doctor Who for $10. Is Doctor Who cross buy? If not I might just get the Vita version.
Cross save but not cross buy. I kind of want this, but reviews were horrible.

Yeah, the reviews are not good. The game seems to be borderline mediocre but I heard Who fans will enjoy it. I know I wasn't going to pay $20 for a lame game. Doctor Who fan or not. :booty:

I pretty much echo everything he asked. I'd like to know too, specifically about the controls. I actually found them to be perfectly manageable in the demo. But how are they through the full game?
Jetpack Joyride will hit PSN (PS3 & Vita) on Dec. 31st, will be free to everyone. Apologizes if this was already posted.
Awesome news. Kind of odd because they just released it as a Mini for $4 (on November 20th). I wonder how they can justify making a new, HD version available for free? Regardless, it's probably my favorite mobile game ever, so I will be playing the shit out of it on my Vita.
