playing some of these indie games on the Vita is a completely different experience.
we could always hope that Humble Bundle comes to the Vita
That actually could happen since the Android bundles seem pretty successful .

I may get Terraria for the Vita since I enjoy the PC version so much and it being portable would be awesome.
Ever stop to think that some of us may get "free" PSN money?
Where can a person earn PSN credit? I have an app I use to get Amazon store credit, but for games they're limited to xbox and itunes credit.

Sony/Playstation credit card, don't leave home without it.

Yes, you have to spend real money to get "free" PSN money, thus the quotes.

This x100000. I've had it for ten months, and I don't even remember how much PSN credit I've earned with it so far. Probably another $100 or so, on top of the initial $50 they give you.

hmm. I went ahead and tweeted @humble and @yosp about it. lol

care to share how it works?
I'm an international student. if only I could get a SSN to apply. :/

Ahhhh. I've got one, used it once for the $50 bonus initially, never again.
Usually use my Amazon Visa since I buy almost everything there, pay it to zero every month. May end up having to switch to the PS Card for PSN purchases instead of prepaid cards - no sense not earning credit on it I guess.
I don't know how I feel about Vita becoming the "indie machine". I guess having more games available is better than not, but already having bought them all on PC for 1/4 of the price or less makes me completely uninterested, and dilutes the pool of PS+ games that I'd want. My best bet then would be for the surge of indies to drive Vita sales so more big name devs are interested in the platform.
I have tons of indie games for PC as well (most coming from various bundles at $1 a game or less) but there are a handful of games with lots of replay value that I would love to be able to play on the road. Terraria is a good example. So I don't mind indie developers bringing their games to the Vita but I certainly wouldn't re-buy them all and also would not want AAA developers to abandon the platform.

Off topic I know, but what are these Amazon & iTunes credit apps?

For those teetering on the edge of a multiple of $50 purchased for the promo, looking for something to take them over the top: Super Crate Box. It's on the PS Vita Mobile section of the Vita Store, and it is wonderful. Worth far more than the $3.49 asking price due to it's JUST ONE MORE TIME!!! gameplay.

Do believe it's free for PC/Mac, great there too, but I've had loads of fun having it close at hand when I've got some time to kill out and about. It has not left the front page/top row of my Vita since I got it a couple months back.

I use one called freemyapps. Download their sponsor apps for free, run them for 30 seconds, collect points. Cash points in for itunes, amazon, xbox, hulu, etc credit. I average about $15 amazon credit a month.

Some reviews...

Escape vektor vita
Only have an hour on it so far. Nice relaxing electronic soundtrack. Each level is a geometric structure of squares and rectangles. Different types of enemies rove around, and you can boost and detonate a bomb.

Line you travel on gets colored in, which gains boost meaning you can perma boost in unravelled territory, and completing a rectangle gives you a bomb. This means the ultimate goal is finding the optimal boost path that completes the level fast and destroys the most enemies.... Which means its perfect for those that like to chase scores. You can also play laid back and just beat levels.

Gameplay is simple yet effective. It's not totally my genre but I'm still enjoying it, but I think anyone who enjoys this sort of game will love it.

Rayman origins vita
... Just beat it. Wow, great game. Twice as long as i expected, tons of content, The bonus level was ultra hard, as were a couple time trials. Fantastic music, and the most perfect platformer controls I've ever experienced

so yeah i got the playstation card like 3-4 years ago when they had the promo for $100 off ps3. that's when i got my first ps3. i never used it again. then last week i get an email from chase saying that some fraudulent activity is on my card and to call to verify it. I called and someone used my credit card # to purchase $470 of adult toys off kegelmasters.com. lol. they said i had fraud liability whatever so no cost to me, but still crazy. i told her that it was probly from when sony was hacked or something. wild.

also i guess i will wait til Vita version for terra game, also hoping they bring FTL to vita...

nice! so you would recommend EscapeVektor at this price? :D
was considering it...
Doesnt that card have a high interest rate?
Yeah it's high. But if you pay it off every month (which anyone who considers themself "cheap" should be doing) then it's not a problem.
If your an adult with good spending habits, I'd suggest a real rewards card that earns you cash, statement credits, airline tickets, merchandise etc.
The Playstation card isn't that bad, I'm pretty sure you get 1% on every purchase with bonuses on Sony and SEN purchases. Like you, I prefer a cash rewards card over PSN money, I use the Chase Freedom card and it's been great for me so far.

Im not familiar with CCs since I dont use them (except a best buy one) but im going to look into one that gives cash/airline/etc rewards instead like mentioned.

If you are starting to get into the CC scene, then I would recommend Chase freedom, great starter card. In no time, you will have a stack of cards to earn the best CB on ever purchase like a boss.

I think I'll pick up Red Faction Armageddon from the sale.

Was tempted on the the Kayne and Lynch games, but after reading about them on Wikipedia I'll pass.
Kayne and Lynch 2 was named one of the worst games of 2012 on a review site?

Thanks! Used your link and will try it out.

i liked and platted kane n lynch 2, best nude level in a video game of 2012. and mp was actually fun, got 2 copies so my girl and i could play, lol. i was actually considering the doggy bag dlc for $3, but the mp was hard enough to boost as it was, and i read the trophies only pop in the 3 new dlc levels, which are probly barren wastelands. but to each their own. my girl couldnt stand to watch the single player tho cuz the head bob motion effects lens flare were too cloverfield for her and made her dizzy. i remember playing on hard and that toughest level where you start out and you can only go forward if you hide behind a forklift. i thought it was a poor man's max payne, but max payne is so cheap. crazy how quality gets so cheap lately.

also i was looking to purchase mass effect 1, thinking this 10/50 might be my best chance to get it cheaper than usual. anyone think it will be ps+ or sale anytime soon? thanks all

definitely if, and this is a big if, you like the genre. Levels get quite complex, tons of rectangles to complete, full of switches for death lasers that both you and enemies can toggle. This means you can spend tons of time on a single level mastering it, since there is an optimal path out there for finding. On the other hand if you don't like this sort of game this won't change your mind. It requires the pattern recognition and memorization of a schmup or platformer to get high scores.

On the other hand all trophies seem quite reasonable and care only about completion not getting gold or platinum scores on every level.

Gameplay is solid, controls are responsive and it looks pretty in a minimalist way. If you think you'll like it based on a gameplay vid I'd say it's worth 5 bucks.

The 3DS version received a pretty glowing review from NintendoLife which led me to buy the Vita version. For $5 I don't think you can go wrong.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Wheel of Fortune game that is on sale? I still need a little bump to get me another $10 back, and this could do it. $15 seems a little steep for this type of game, but the 1 review I saw on metacritic was actually pretty favorable (83).

Lots of recommendations here for Red Faction: Guerrilla. Any thoughts on the DLC for it?

Also considering Sonic CD since I've never played it in any form. Is $5 good or does that one tend to drop? I see in the description that it actually has widescreen support, so I'm guessing it's a bit more than a barebones emulation?

Oh and I'll echo the earlier posts asking for opinions on the Worms games. I have Worms 2 on Xbox; wondering if Worms Revolution and/or Crazy Golf are worth it. Crazy Golf seems to have tepid reviews but maybe it's good for Worms fans?

I seem to remember Sonic CD going on sale before (might have been for Xbox), but it is totally worth the $5. It is the same level of quality you would expect from a Sonic game from that era. It was also more than a simple port, as they added the ability for you to play through the game as Tales once you beat it (they did a few other things, but I don't remember exactly).

As for Worms Golf, I quite liked it. It is kind of like a physics based puzzler rather than a traditional Worms game. You hit your ball into explosives and other things to navigate it closer to the green, avoid obstacles, etc. Gameplay videos should make it pretty clear. I seem to remember a lot of the negative review for the game being that it could be had for considerably cheaper on iPad.
Lots of recommendations here for Red Faction: Guerrilla. Any thoughts on the DLC for it?
Not bad, the Marauders DLC adds a little more backstory, a couple of hours of single player. Ultimately skippable though, not sure it's worth $10. Didn't really mess around with multiplayer, so I can't speak for that.

It's not totally my genre but I'm still enjoying it, but I think anyone who enjoys this sort of game will love it.

... Just beat it. Wow, great game. Twice as long as i expected, tons of content, The bonus level was ultra hard, as were a couple time trials. Fantastic music, and the most perfect platformer controls I've ever experienced
Thanks for posting this as I was strongly considering Escapevektor. I'm always starving for more quality Vita games because the library is so small. I'll probably pick it up even though I'm wary the low amount of releases might mean they'll all be free eventually. I wish the discount was a little more.

Also considering Rocketbirds. Does anyone have personal experience with it? Looks like it's maybe in the same vein as Mutant Blobs? I loved that one.

The only thing similar between Mutant Blobs Attack and Rocketbirds is that they're 2D sidescrollers. Rocketbirds is a shooter with more of a measured, slower pace to it. I wrote a review of the PS3 version when that came out, which is basically the same game.
Off topic I know, but what are these Amazon & iTunes credit apps?
I assume these collect data & sell it, hope this doesn't pick up. It's already sad on how little privacy we have...
