Just a question, the DIGITAL copy of PSASBR for PS3 on sale for $40 will give me the Vita version as well?

I see in the OP that it has the cross buy star, but when I go to buy it, I don't see any info about this in the Store. Just want to make sure before I commit. Anyone do this already?

(and thanks Frisky for all the hard work)
There is a Cross Buy section in the PS Store and I'm 100% sure that the PS3 version of All Stars is in it. Verified by me looking at it in the PS Store on the PS3 as I post this.
Not that much value. The games they give you are usually garbage that has been discounted numerous times in the past and/or you would never play. Most of the games they give out fighting games or side scroller beat em ups, so only get it if you like those genres.

Personally I would get more value out of $50 by just buying games that I want than having a PS+ sub.
If you're a gamer that enjoys all kinds of games and/or have both a PS3 & Vita, then Plus is a no brainer. You get a lot of different kinds of games for both systems for one cost.
You also get a good selection of discounts. You can also find deals on the sub..I got mine for $35 from BBY.

Taking all that into consideration, it is worthwhile to me because of my gaming tastes.

Thanks to everyone for the answers about the PSASBR. I'm glad I got a PSN $50 card instead of the actual disc game since I think this would be a better quick load digital type game.

When I go to the ps store on my Vita Metal Gear Solid 3 HD is not on sale for 7.34 it is 19.99. I thought it was on sale? I am PS+ member.

its the ps3 version thats on sale

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD – PS3 Game (now: $10.49 original price: $14.99 Plus price: $7.34)
Good stuff. I actually do like that EU list better. I just Googled how to create an EU PSN account, but can I use a PS+ redemption code that I buy in the US (i.e. Gamestop or Amazon) to subscribe to the EU PS+?
I'm not positive but I don't believe you can. I think EU and US each have their own codes. Also that blog doesn't mention the latest games. US got Bioshock 2, Super Street Fighter IV: AE, and Rochard I think it was. EU got Batman Arkham City, Limbo, and Vanquish. EU wins again imo. That blog list is also missing Crysis 2 which was given away free for PS+ (EU only, although it was a couple months ago and is no longer free).

Either way get whatever you're getting soon since the month is almost up.
Don't know the answer to your question, but just wanted to make sure you knew that Best Buy will have PS All Stars on sale for $39.99 next week. My recommendation is to get a physical copy you could potentially sell later. I was really excited for this game from the beginning, but was pretty disappointed when I finally got it. The fact that super moves are the only way to score points/win made me feel like everything I was doing besides super moves were inconsequential.
Yeah my brother in law picked up a copy today at GS and I feel exactly the same way after playing it. I actually told him after a few hours of playing that there should be a life bar of some sort because certain characters have pretty weak supers. He got a gutted copy so maybe that would make it easier to return if he doesn't like it all that much, blessing in disguise?

Has Strangers Wrath for PS3 ever been on sale other than when it was released? Wondering if picking up the Vita version now would be a waste of funds. It doesn't seem like JAW participates much in PSN sales though.

It definitely went on sale once, though it might have only been like 20% off. But it was definitely on some sort of discount when I bought it. Let me do some research.

EDIT: SEN isn't letting me sign in. I guess I won't be able to figure out when I purchased it. I'm almost positive it was 20%-30% for PS+ subscribers some time in early 2012.

If anyone is on the fence about Journey, I can't recommend it enough. Just bought it with Plus and I finally understand what the fuss is about. Well worth the ~$7.

Does anyone think that the Walking Dead episodes will be 50% off anytime soon? I have the first two episodes from PS+ but they are half off on XBLA right now and I'm considering grabbing them.

I'm sure there will be a sale on it at some point but if you haven't played it at all I'd highly recommend it for Vita. I'm having a ton of fun with it and it's easily one of the best Vita games at any price.
I think that comment was referring to buying both the PS3 and Vita versions. If you double dipped you'd get 25% off the total. Not sure if that sale is still in effect or not.
I can't seem to get the 25% off deal to work at all. Not a big deal personally because I won't be double dipping until it's at least 50% off.

How does the game control on Vita? Particularly the FPS sections? Sad but true, I've seen some mentions that this is probably the best FPS game on Vita at the moment.

That's because the deal is only available for European users. As for the FPS controls, they're fine. I don't know about BEST fps on the vita since i blazed through resistance and shut those memories away, but it's a pretty good game.

Just bought a $50 PSN card in hopes PS+ does something awesome to entice new users after Christmas. Make me renew, Sony!
Just bought a $50 PSN card in hopes PS+ does something awesome to entice new users after Christmas. Make me renew, Sony!
I signed up for the Sony Playstation credit card and with the $50 sony voucher after first purchase, I signed up for a year of PS+. Then, I used the card for everything until I got $5000 points and cashed those in for another $50 card for another year of PS+. This is my plan to continue with PS+, and so far I am set for the next 2-1/2 years with the extra month here and there from game purchases and trial codes.

Keep looking at that Two Worlds II Velvet GOTY edition for $5. On Amazon it's $19.99 for the disc version with the velvet box, pirate head and map:
http://www.amazon.com/Two-Worlds-II-Edition-Playstation-3/dp/B006GVLNV2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

You can get the original Collectors Edition from Amazon as well for the 360 for $29.99:
http://www.amazon.com/Two-Worlds-Royal-Collectors-Xbox-360/dp/B004HZV12K/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1356715530&sr=1-3&keywords=two+worlds+ii

Looks like a lot of nice stuff, but the reviews are very mixed on the game. Perhaps the $5 version is the way to go and if I like it, I could always order the CE or Velvet Ed for the swag and sell off the game.

Only thing that's holding me back is all the mixed reviews on the game itself. Any thoughts on this game?
I'm going to take the plunge and sign up for ps+. Thanks for the input everyone.
I'm going to as well.

One question - can I purchase a sub with PSN credit from cards?

Play the free 1 hour trial that you get on PS+ first to see if you like it. I found something that was a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, just add the cards to your PSN wallet, than buy your PS+ subscription through the PS Store on your PS3.

imo, don't sweat the EU vs. US account.

easy solution -- don't pay attention to what EU gets. you'll be happy enough with a US account.

Surprisingly, no one has mentioned this game at all in this thread. Not even once.

I thought controlling your character was awful moving, running and jumping...also as it relates to combat. I know to some it may sound petty but its what you do the most in a game.

I agree with this advice, this is exactly what I do.:applause:

Nice, picked up MGS HD for Vita and RCR, and I still need to transfer the free Uncharted, and Gravity Rush. Great time to be a new Vita owner.

Good idea on the PS+ trial.

I will have to check this out. There was a time toward the end of the PS1 and beginning of PS2 where nearly every game looked excellent for it's time, and was nearly unplayable. That was the moment when I decided graphics are not all that important, if it is at the sacrifice of control.

Almost broke down and got MG:Hd Collection but then i noticed the 3.3gb install .... Wow thats a deal breaker considering how limited the space u get on vita memory cards. And besides i can easily see this game dropping to $20 in the near future, so for about $2 difference i can save about 3gb of install space.

My 2 cents.

Quick question:

For the free games, do you just have to "purchase" them through the PSN store to have access later on, or do they have to be downloaded?

Here's what I wanna do:

I don't have a Vita, but will in the future. I want all the free PSN+ Vita games, but I don't want them on my HDD. Can I queue them up then cancel the download, then download them at a later date, as long as I'm still a PSN+ member?

TiA!

I don't have a Vita, but will in the future. I want all the free PSN+ Vita games, but I don't want them on my HDD. Can I queue them up then cancel the download, then download them at a later date, as long as I'm still a PSN+ member?

Just purchase, no need to download. You'll be able to download them later on your shiny new vita as long as you purchased them during the free period.

My 2 cents.
That's nothing... I just bought MGS3 for PS3 and it's a 9GB install! I was also surprised to see that Persona 3 FES, a non-HD PS2 title took up like 4 or 5 gigs: I don't know much about programming, but I get the feeling they aren't putting much effort into condensing these ports.

Just go to the store and "buy" them, as in add them to the cart and go through check out intil it says "download" and you don't actually have to download them now, just go back and check and it should say "purchased" instead of the price.

After that, you can download them again at any time (as long as you still have ps+).

I don't have a Vita yet, that's exactly what I did.

DVDs on the PS2 offered up to 4.7 GB of storage space, so the 4.3 GB that P3FES is on par with that. The PS2 Classics are pretty much ISO rips with some tweaks to work with the emulator that they use for them.

This mirrors exactly what I was going to say. As much as it seems PS2 games are ancient at this point it's important to remember it was a major selling point as a DVD player and those things held the storage amounts you mentioned.

My 2 cents.
It already did. I picked it up for $20 w/coupon at BB as a Christmas present about a month ago.
SOOOOOOOOOO tempted to get Papo & Yo. Can anyone recommend?
From what I've read you have to overlook a few quirks with the mechanics of the game but overall people seem to enjoy it.

I purchashed it near launch while under the influence of alcohol. I grew up with a drunk, abusive father. Watching the opening, or scene near the begining (again, I was intoxicated), I freaked out, broke down in tears and turned the console off. Those with issues that stem from abusive parents may want to be wary. I really want to play, just got to muster up the courage.
