If you calling about getting a refund about the Dark Souls DLC good luck cause you are going to get shot down 99.99%. That's just the way it is in digital sales.

I know Seraphinianus said if you really need the $7.50 then talk to him/her.

Just remember you'll have better luck getting money out of Seraphinianus than you'll SONY!

Don't be mad the DLC is well worth the purchase of $14.99.
Yeah, I guess its not a big deal. Next time ill tell my g/f to wait till tuesday to buy DLC, lol.
A good thing to remember is wait for Monday for the Blog. Then you will have an idea on what will be on sale. It's always good to save money but sometimes you just have to take a hit.
IX was the first Final Fantasy game I played, absolutely love the characters in it, however this
FinalFantasyTacticsAdvanceGBACoverArtUS.jpg
is my favorite FF game of all time. I must of played well over 400+ hours into that game just maxing out all my characters and collecting the best weapons, doing dispatch missions, etc. Since the game was on the GBA I took it with me to every place I went and I played whenever there was any down/free time. I no longer own a GBA, if they port this to the Vita (or any other system really) I'd buy it in an instant.
Loved that game too; had similar experience with it a long time ago as well. Any time I wasn't working, pretty much. Still have it to this day, & it's just wonderful. I'd see Nintendo doing the port quicker than Sony, though...so we most likely won't see it any time soon, if ever.

I thinking getting some games on the Final Fantasy sale. So far the only FF games I played are FFXIII 1/2 and War of the Lions. Any recommentations or should I get them all?

Since you've already played the worst game in the series, there's nowhere to go but up!

Get them all!

Nah, he hasn't played II, VII, or the MMOs. WotL is definitely not the worst in the series.

I would say pick up VI, VIII, and IX. Grab as many as possible if you have the extra cash though.

Seriously?!? FF7 is down on your list? Wow... just wow.
You think VII is worse than VIII?
I personally enjoyed VIII quite a bit more then VII (I'm one of those people who didn't care for this one that much :p), but IX is probably my favorite of the PS1 games, I own all of these in some form so I'm not sure that I'll pick anything up from this sale but I would also recommend just buying all of them.
You think VII is worse than VIII?
I haven't played XIII-2 or enough of the MMOs (actually, probably played enough of base XI, but none of the expansions) to say, but having played all the other FF games VII is the second worst I've played. VIII takes narrative risks that more games can learn from, while VII is mostly a generic JRPG plot mixed in which generic JRPG combat. FF VII was the first FF game I played though, but I've since gone back twice to replay it and it's proven to be just as bad as I remembered. Conversely outside of that damn jump rope game in IX and the way leveling/EXP works in VIII both of those games have withstood the test of time (though there are spotty translations at times in VIII that are a bummer).

FF VIII or FF IX are the best games in that franchise that don't include the "Tactics" addition. Though I get why people love VI as well, that's a Hell of a game too (I prefer IV to it though). Have no idea why anyone like VII though.

whoa, hey, i was just making a joke about DD refunds! This happens to all of us-- anyone who has ever bought something full price from a DD service runs this risk.

I bought Persona 3 Portable for $40 a week before it dropped to $20.

Whoops I meant to say worse than XIII not VIII. Big typo.

I can understand why people would enjoy VIII, hell I absolutely love VIII but the battle system was bad though I did like the risk.

Of all the FF, I'd have to say IX is my favorite. I don't think I need to explain to you since you hold IX highly too.

Also did you play VII back when it came out? If you did, you would understand why VII is so highly regarded. It basically brought the second coming of jrpgs and this is where many became fans.

FYI, Jetpack Joyride (free version) was quietly patched to include button support. It feels more precise pushing a button than touching the screen, I like it a lot.

I went back and played VII not too long ago. It isn't very good or at least as good as I remembered. I enjoyed it much more when I was younger but now I get caught up by the horrible action sequences and childish (badly translated?) dialog. Still I would rate it higher than VIII which I have never cared for and is the second worst in the series for me (behind II).

Everyone has different tastes in their FF games though and I have discovered that mine has changed while I age. Also I personally liked FF XIII once it finally gets going.
You are all way off base with Final Fantasy. FF 3/6 on SNES is far and away the best FF ever. :)
Nope you're even further off base. It's all about Crystal Chronicles :p
Because they have a soul.
Because it was many people's first RPG
Because it was a JRPG set in a dystopic futuristic setting, not a quasi-medieval setting like so many other JRPGs of the period.
Flashy (for the time) 3D rendered graphics and FMV cutscenes
The Death left an impression
FYI, Jetpack Joyride (free version) was quietly patched to include button support. I don't mind the touch screen, but I agree on button pressing feeling more precise than touchscreens.

Also, app coming to Vita today called "PlayStation Home Arcade". It sounds similar to Microsoft's Game Room, where you could download arcade games via hub.

Hmm, so is it pretty much a no brainer to pick up Dissidia Duodecim (sp?) at $10? Never played any of these titles. I honestly don't know when I will ever play my PSP again, but I still like to snatch up deals for it now and again.

Was all excited for the Final Fantasy sale then quickly realized it's not live yet. Which the heck dissidia do we want? And I am guessing all the PS1 games are straight ports, crappy graphics and all?

I was wondering how long it would take to get to the "best/worst FF" argument.

I'm gonna side with the unpopular here and state my disapproval of FFVII. I played it when it was new and did not like it. I've replayed it since, and still don't like it. I get why people do - it does a lot right including the materia system and some great characterizations. I just could never get over the awful quality of the localization, which contributes, but is probably not entirely to blame for the hokeyness of the plot/dialogue.
Was all excited for the Final Fantasy sale then quickly realized it's not live yet. Which the heck dissidia do we want? And I am guessing all the PS1 games are straight ports, crappy graphics and all?
Duodecim contains the original Dissidia's campaign as an unlockable after you finish the game, so get that one. PSOne versions are ports with some minor updates, but I don't remember what they all are. I think each has an opening and ending movie that was added, and some include updated translations. (assuming you meant 1-6, 7-9 are the same as ever)

well, screw best/worst, none of these games are so bad as to not be worth $5-$10. Even FFV+VI for PS1. They may not be the best versions of the games, but they're still FFV and FFVI

This is a wise man. 100% agreed. I'm only in for FFVI to further clog my overstuffed Vita and prodigious backlog; the only reason it isn't more games is because I already own most of them in PSN form...
FYI, Jetpack Joyride (free version) was quietly patched to include button support. It feels more precise pushing a button than touching the screen, I like it a lot.
Thanks! Gonna try that out later!

We all know what the REALLY best Final Fantasy game is.

.....it's X-2, right? (though in all honestly, I'd buy it as a PS2 Classic just to replay it & finish it). I kid, but in all seriousness, to each their own.

But like Graff said, get Duodecim over the original. It has the original game/story & adds a TON of new content and gameplay changes, similar to something like Super Street Fighter 2 or 4. You won't really miss out on anything if you don't play the original aside from the downgrade in how the Story Mode map & such was done.
I thought the Lord of the Rings MOBA was supposed to be free starting today, but it's not on the PS Plus free games list
The update isnt live yet.

I know you were joking about giving him a refund. I know you won't be sending a random CAG any money. Just saying they would have better luck getting something from you which would be ZERO. We all have gotten screwed over DD but its what we get when jump the gun.

Sucks to hear about paying $40 for P3P then seeing a drop but you realize its all part of the system.

People will always  about this so I've gotten used to it. Very RARELY will SONY refund a purchase.

Should I sell my sealed Greatest Hits PS1 version of Final Fantasy IX and buy the PSN version instead? How about my mint black-label copies of FF Anthology and FF Origins?

I don't have a PSP or a PS Vita, so I'd be playing them on the PS3 only.

I also have FF V and VI sealed on the GBA, and I've heard those versions are superior, so I'd probably play those instead of Anthology anyway.
when is it gonna go live?!
Just wait for the damn update people. They rarely update this early. Check back in 4-6 hours.

I liked x-2. It had a fun combat system and lots to do.

The worst part is that the answer to that question is right near the top of the OP in big red letters.

Been wondering this myself. Then I remember that the copies that I own are in fact the copies I purchased on release day and was super excited to own way back when and then I get all nostalgic.

I may just go for FFIV Complete, and Dissidia already owning II and III for SNES, Origins, Anthology, and 7-9 on PS1, Tactics on PS1 and PS+, etc.

I too have them all on disc still (except 7... Loaned it out and a disc went missing.) But I will still be buying them again because at this price my vita will love them too.
So I want to get two FF games for my Vita. Is VI and IX a good choice?
Definitely! My favorites are VI, VII, and IX in that order.

For $5 each, buy the digital ones and keep your sealed disc copies!

The GBA ports are superior to the PSX ports, at least to me they are. The PSX port of V has Faris speaking in this horrible pirate dialect the whole game, which was toned down immensely in the GBA game. The GBA ports were also somewhat optimized for the platform (slight widescreen) and some bonus content.

^^ This. In that order. Anyone that says otherwise was not around when these released (which is ok ;) )
^^ This. In that order. Anyone that says otherwise was not around when these released (which is ok ;) )
I was around when they were released and I say otherwise ;).

VI is great though, easily my second favorite behind IV. I still fight the urge to call them 2 and 3 instead of 4 and 6 though. I'm probably one of three people that didn't like IX. I really should have, good nostalgia (maybe too much), nice skill system...I just didn't like the characters (except Vivi and Steiner, they were cool) or story. I'll probably try it again to see if my opinion changed, as it was somewhat colored by the piece of shit strategy guide that came out with it.
