New Skyrim DLC I guess, along with Vanquish
Meagaman X for the PSP too.

Man I wish the PS1 versions of Megaman X came to the store.
Good news for me, was able to snag Critter Crunch for $1.40 before the update.
Thanks for the reminder!:)

Weird to get on this late and see no update. Was something said about it being put off? Even the sales expiring this week are still in effect.
Is there something awesome going up today that we're all waiting for?
Pretty much Vanquish, plus I might as well get the hub for Capcom Arcade Cabinet (most likely just gonna wait for the bundle to come out & get discounted) to get some free trophies and play some Black Tiger.

i'm always down for free trophies, but what games does the capcom arcade cabinet come with? those get trophies also? thanks i thought it was just a platform like zen 2 and no intrinsic games. idk

edit - oh, ok. i see the trophy list. so just black tiger?
i would be down for 1943 and ghosts n goblins i used to play alot, but 3.99 is actually expensive isn't it... i think i got jaded when they were giving those cheap $1 sega games and lots of ps+ freebies, i just expect it now.

edit again - nevermind i just found this, so we don't get black tiger free, but unlimited continues on demo, but i doubt we get trophies from demo?! idk, lol "And while we're on small gripes, for strange and unclear technical reasons, the PSN version of Black Tiger will give players unlimited continues in the initial download of Arcade Cabinet, but XBLA players only get one continue, though they can restart as many times as they'd like. That's less on Capcom and more on the platform demo release rules, though.

You have 3 options when it comes to Capcom Arcade Cabinet (Capcom has listed all the features, including the list of games & release dates here):

1.) Buy each game individually for $4 when they're released. This'll cost you about about $56, and you have to wait 2 weeks after the pack containing said games were released to get them individually. Ex. You have to wait until March 5th to get Avenger or 1943 separately.

2.) Buy them in packs of 3, $5 for the addition of Avenger & 1943 out today (since Black Tiger is given out for free to get a taste of the hub), with the others being $10. Destructoid has a review up with a listing of when these'll come out. This'll cost you about $45 total.

3.) Wait until May 21st and get all 15 games (owning all 15 games unlocks 2 bonus games
1943 Kai & Vulgus
) in a single pack for $30.
Is there something awesome going up today that we're all waiting for?
Free Vanquish.

I love how the updates I look forward to are the super delayed ones.

Also love how Sony just lets us sit around waiting instead of releasing a simple "Hey, update will be delayed tonight" message.
10pm and no update yet.....they have to get things like this right next gen.
And why is that? What are they losing out on by not "getting this right?"
They'll vote for whatever dumb thing they want. Chrono Trigger won best PS1 Classic last year over something more deserving like Xenogears.
chrono trigger > xenogears.

by far.

and while that may be a value judgement, even if you want to give it to xeno it's certainly not a good example of a case of stupid people voting for 'whatever dumb thing'. chrono trigger is highly revered, a masterpiece.
I wonder what's going to happen to our ps+ subscriptions if Sony phases out ps+ in favor of "Playstation World." My ps+ sub ends around 2016:rofl:. Hope we don't get screwed.
from everything i've read/heard, there's no chance of that. worst case, they'd convert our time to another program (which is no different than renaming a program, really). i've got mine out to 2016 as well (ty target) and am not concerned in the least.

I think that more has to do with Chrono Trigger having been on sale 1 or more times and Xenogears having never been on sale.

No part of that statement was referring to the quality of the games. I'm talking about a game that was ported to the PS1 and is also available on a few other platforms versus one that was originally made for the PS1 and is only available on that platform, so Xenogears was the more desirable winner for that reason.

While I liked Chrono Trigger & I hope Xenogears goes on sale one of these days, I consider Chrono Trigger a SNES Classic, not a PS1 Classic.

Edit: Yeah, what Frisky said. It's the fact a game that wasn't even originally a PS1 game that won a "Best PSOne Classic" when it was more remembered on the console it was originally on.
And why is that? What are they losing out on by not "getting this right?"
While it really doesn't matter much this week, this could have an effect on future digital pre-order habits.

It also reflects poorly on them that they don't have these updates ready for release ahead of time.
Wow. The store has been flooded with LBP Karting and Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi DLC. Like ~200 pieces at least.
Hakuoki is just 2 pages. Karting on the other hand is 12 fucking pages :hot:

oh, in that case, completely understandable. chrono trigger is one of the few games i'm defensive about, lol.

though i too consider it a snes game, and haven't even played the ps1 version. but still defensive. lol.

Hakuoki is a PSP game with 51 pieces of DLC, which is very notable. LBP Karting is just re-releasing all of the previous DLC for LBP as Cross Buy support, which is a ton at this point.

As an aside of sorts, I actually like a couple of those digital clock dynamic themes that got added this week. Not that I'm about to spend $3 on them, mind you.

Here are the web store links to vote in the 2013 PSN Gamer's Choice Awards:

Best Competitive Multiplayer Game
Best Indie Game
Best Mini Game
Best PlayStation Classic
Best PlayStation Move Enabled Game
Best PS3 Full Game
Best PSN Exclusive Game
Best PSN Game
Best PSP Game
Best PS Vita Game

Also, if you bought costumes for LBP 1/2 and have either LBP on Vita or Karting, make sure to go through the Add-on lists for each game to purchase the free costumes to make use of the Cross Buy costumes that you're owed.
 @ the comments section. these people's lives depend on PSN updating on time.
fuck yeah it does ... seriously though people need to go play games or watch TV instead of refreshing the blog every 10 seconds

Nothing for me this week besides the free stuff. And I'll finally be able to buy Knytt Underground since this the last week of the sale. Maybe I'm weird, but I was holding out for it to be announced as a "Last Chance" on the off chance that it was a semi-permanent PS+ discount, similar to the Hot Shots Bundle.

Thanks. I'm extremely lazy and voting from my computer is way easier than through the PSN store.

Had to Google all the PSP games since I didn't really know what any of them were. Love the variety here, Wikipedia describes them as a "Dungeon Crawler RPG", "Tactical RPG", and "Tactical RPG", respectively.
 @ the comments section. these people's lives depend on PSN updating on time.
Yeah, it's just awful. I think my absolute favorite commentors are the ones who seem to know how to run an multi-million dollar international company better than Sony does.
(Not that Sony is doing an amazing job, but I don't think these commentors are the wunderkinds they believe themselves to be.)

Wow, Vanquish is 11GiB. Makes me wish I didn't trade in my blu-ray copy to Gamestop yesterday for $6.
