No worries, you're right.
uhh the guy i quoted said "we all got it"

what else am I supposed to think? the eyeroll was very unnecessary
When we get the same questions week in and week out, I think the eyeroll is very fitting.

:applause: Seriously, I've been saying this since I started frequenting this thread. Lol, whatever their process is -- they need to either move it up a day or simply say the store updates on Wednesday. I know most of us around here have adjusted to "Sony just being...Sony", but it looks incredibly amateurish that they constantly have this waivering window time for an update. A good number of online stores simply make their weekly sales live at 12AM -- every time.

Who tries to download shit on Tuesday after the update anyway? Have fun waiting forever for your downloads.

On topic - what's the general consensus on Knytt Underground? After watching some gameplay it looks kinda like a Metriodvania style game with more focus on platforming/puzzle and basically no combat - is that on track?

To be fair the thread does about 20-50 new pages every week depending on what's going on. Answers aren't always easy to find.

Then just read the first page. It never changes place and is always easy to find.

maybe that could be a new feature on CAG 3.0, the Original post is always the first post on every page, that would probably help because most of the answers are there, at least in this thread they are.

I can fully guarantee that there wouldn't be and never is.

Reading back on this morning's/afternoon's posts makes me wonder why the digital vs. physical discussion happens when we all know the pros and cons of each. Everybody has preferences, but it shouldn't affect you if somebody else thinks one's better than the other for their needs.
There's a new Walking Dead coming out soon, depending on how that's selling they could do a sale to spark interest.
The new game is from a different publisher/developer, so there's not much connecting the two games besides the license. I don't see Telltale doing a sale on their game if Activision's game tanks or whatever.
Who tries to download shit on Tuesday after the update anyway? Have fun waiting forever for your downloads.
They'll finish earlier than those waiting later to start downloads. I'm not sure what the point of the question is.

Ya that's pretty much right on from what I've played so far.

It's in the OP in red letters that the PS Store updates Tuesday afternoon.

Not sure about any of the PC stuff, but MS isn't any better at getting their stuff online at a precise time. Like someone said earlier, if it really bothers anyone that much, then just don't check for the update until Wednesday morning.

I searched the thread, but I don't see answers to a couple questions I have:

1. When does the store update?

2. Can anyone tell me if any good Final Fantasy games are on sale?

3. How much do I have to spend to get the $50 back? It's just $10 from what I can see?

1. It is updated half past purple

2. The best FF game on sale is Black Ops 2.

3. Actually no, you need to spend 4000 MSP to get back $800

Well, I stopped buying from XBLA a while ago, but I don't recall there ever being a holdup with store updates. Whenever I'd check the store on Wednesdays, it was updated. Anyway, I was really referring to Steam, Amazon and Itunes. Even Spotify updates its catalog early.

I think he's referring to the bottleneck that occurs immediately after an update.

Wow just...wow. No words. I think I'm done for the day here

Didn't it used to update Thursday, and it was still like 6pm?

I honestly can't believe people still bitch. Kinda pathetic. I'm just happy all games, PSN or retail come out the same day.

Also 4.)Do you know of a place where sailors hang out around here?

I don't buy anything from any of those outlets, so I wouldn't know. In the last 2 days MS was super late on one of their daily sales, and had to end up extending it 24 hours, and then today their "Sales & Specials" app is close to 12 hours late in updating.

Not trying to make it sound like a big deal (I'm a patient person when it comes to stuff like this) just demonstrating that Sony's biggest competitor is just as "awful" as getting everything done timely. (awful in quotes because I don't think either of them are doing an awful job).

Don't even get me started on MS' handling of Windows Phone games though...

I picked it up last sale and only recently got into it. It is definitely in that genre, though it's got a very heavy emphasis on exploration and aimless wandering. You don't always have a clear objective and you almost never have a concrete idea of your destination. That's not really a pro or a con in my mind, just something that's worth knowing going in.
Ahhh...the good ol ps plus and digital content fight. Back in my day we were just worried about blowing dust out of our game cartridges! While that's true - I only have a limited number of devices (1 PS3 and 1 Vita) so unless I'm getting stuff for both, I'd rather wait until downloads speeds are decent later in the week and instead spend my time playing a game (since I have limited gaming time too).

On a related topic - I recently tried to download games on both my Vita and PS3 at the same time (using the same PSN account) and apparently it paused the Vita download (it even said paused on the status) until the PS3 downloads were done first.

Is this a rule that I was not aware of - that you can only download 1 thing at a time per PSN account (possibly per IP address)?
I think he's referring to the bottleneck that occurs immediately after an update.
Still, starting a download when the store updates will get done faster than waiting until the next day to start it.

It's a weird game in the vein of a Metroid game. I didn't see any combat in the 30 minutes that I played, but there are still plenty of ways to die.

The demo should give you an idea of what it's like. I also archived the stream where I played a bit of it from the beginning:

Awesome news. Best game I've played in a long long time.

By that I mean I've played the first 2 hours of it. But damn has it been a good two hours. I should be a reviewer.

It should until the store starts updating, which could happen any minute now. You're basically in the timeframe where you've waited until the last possible moments, so you may miss the deal because of that.

I thought it lasted until today, it's my own fault, so I took the chance.

I also asked in the last post but how do I find out how long I'm extended for?

You're treading thin ice asking something like that round these here parts. Best to edit and say something overly positive about PS+ and how it's changed your life.

But you can let a game download in the background and still do whatever on your console while it downloads. I still don't see your point.

No you can't. At least for me it's never been that way. PS3 has no background downloading. You can have it in the queue but if you're doing something else, playing a game or watching a movie it'll pause the download till you stop.
But you can let a game download in the background and still do whatever on your console while it downloads. I still don't see your point.
I must be doing it wrong, because launching a game pauses any download in the back ground for me.
I must be doing it wrong, because launching a game pauses any download in the back ground for me.
pretty sure if your game connects to the internet, for multiplayer or anything (looking at you tiger woods 13) it pauses the download

It pauses the download based on the game you play, not every game will pause it, if the game has some kind of online component more than likely it will pause the download. I think more games pause the DL than not, but it isn't every game.

I feel like it's been a toss up for me. I've played certain games and my downloads continued, while other games have caused my downloads to stop. I know when I watch blu rays it definitely stops.
No you can't. At least for me it's never been that way. PS3 has no background downloading. You can have it in the queue but if you're doing something else, playing a game or watching a movie it'll pause the download till you stop.
That's not true at all. I downloaded One Piece: Pirate Warriors while I played through Karateka. It only stops on games with online components since it will prioritize the current game over what's downloading in the background.
On topic - what's the general consensus on Knytt Underground? After watching some gameplay it looks kinda like a Metriodvania style game with more focus on platforming/puzzle and basically no combat - is that on track?
Besides platforming and puzzle solving, exploration is a major part of the game. The first hour or so is tutorial, then the game opens up a world so huge its overwhelming. You know your ultimate goal but are given no idea how to get there.

There is no health bar or point system (no HUD at all). You will die a lot, but it just restarts you back to your last place in the same room. I'm a big fan of Metroidvania games and am enjoying Knytt Underground so far. I'm 5-6 hours in playing only on my Vita, and have yet to reach one of the six goals. Found some collectibles though.
