I regret purchasing it during the holiday sale. I was on the fence and decided to jump on it at the last minute, but it just really doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's because I've played a ton of iOS games and realize that touchscreen controls can be much much better than this, but I keep trying to play it and losing interest after five or ten minutes. It may get better, but I just don't have the drive to find out.

I tried the demo. kinda like it.. but dang I can't seem to add it to cart anymore :/

Just reposting the download sizes for the free games for those who want to know before the store gets updated:

Spec Ops: The Line: 5,587 MB or 5.45GB.
Patapon: 183MB
Wild Arms: 299MB
Patchwork Heroes: 229MB
Piyotama: 32.8MB

Sales are live on the Vita store.

EDIT: Sort of. Patchwork Heroes and Patapon are free, but the other anniversary freebies are not. All the anniversary sales seem to be discounted with Plus discounts also applied.

Nothing is live for me yet.
Who tries to download shit on Tuesday after the update anyway? Have fun waiting forever for your downloads.

On topic - what's the general consensus on Knytt Underground? After watching some gameplay it looks kinda like a Metriodvania style game with more focus on platforming/puzzle and basically no combat - is that on track?
there is a Vita demo. i just played it. not my thing, but it might be someone else's. seems solid enough, i'm just not into the genre.

Sale's over, so your decision has been made for you.

Things are moving around the deals section on the web store, so it should go live soon.

is oddworld worth $10?

---

Odd Oddworld related question:

I just went to PS1 classics to get Wild Arms, but for some reason clicked on Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, which I already own through ps+.

Here's the interesting part -- my Vita is showing 2 different download buttons.

It looks like:

470 MB Required --- $9.99 --- Download
470 MB Required --- +Exclusive Free --- Download

Did they recently patch the store to allow us to buy games we got for free through +? I know some people wanted that for some reason. Or is this just how it displays? Glitch?

No. That's how it displays some former PS+ games.

Damn, couldn't find my old save data of Patapon. If I ever get around to playing it, guess I'm starting over.

I'm now seeing more content on the Vita's PS Store.
is oddworld worth $10?
I enjoyed it. Every boss had 2 (lethal and nonlethal) ways of fighting them and it was a very creative shooter. Should get about 10 or so hours out of it to platinum, which is FAR from stressful.
I don't know if the Patapon demo is Vita compatible, but it offers a bonus item for playing through it and using the demo save in the full game.

& just got Spec Ops: The Line from PS+. Now to wait hours for it to download.

ok, thanks. On the fence I guess. It seems like a good pricepoint though, and i doubt it will go lower.

is there any reason to play it on the ps3 vs. vita? i prefer vita for the genre, all things being equal. (and i'm assuming it's not cross buy)

No Cross Buy or Cross Save. Hence the sale to encourage owners of the PS3 version to buy it.

PS3 version has Move support.

None. Same trophy list. Same game. Just comes down to what you rather play with.
Earth defense force portable is $29.99 now. Wonder if it is a sale or permanent drop?
Nice, glad it dropped some, really want this game but just couldnt justify 40$ on it when they axed the physical version

I'm looking for the free wildarms/patapon but they don't seem to give me an option to download them on my PS3 at the moment.

Do I need to do it through Vita only?

Yeah, only on the vita store. Too bad, my vita doesn't come until after that promotion.
Yeah, only on the vita store. Too bad, my vita doesn't come until after that promotion.
Damn, I have my Vita rented out at the moment. I'm guessing the promotion's only good till next week?

Perhaps do it on the browser store to at least have it in your purchase history?

....weird, it's not giving you the option to get them online.

it's a vita promotion for vita owners. makes sense to not allow people to backdoor it.

towards the discussion going on just recently -- my vita and ps3 seem to be downloading from the same account concurrently no problem. i've got spec ops at 30% and have most of my vita games already installed during that 30%.

How do I find these free games on the Vita? Is it there a section? I did not know that Patapon was free. I went to free PS+ games and patapon did not appear there! until I searched for Patapon and then it was showed as free (Awesome game by the way).

Is there a way to know which other games are free? I mean by using the PS Vita (without visiting this thread, let's say). Thank you.

^Absoultely yes on Dokuro.

Pretty firm yes on Sine Mora, except the trophies are really bad. Still, I think I'm going to double dip (already have it on 360).
before I regret anything
YAY for both Sine Mora and Dokuro right?
If you're into puzzle platformers, then yes, I recommend Dokuro. Sine Mora, I only played the demo, but I enjoyed it. I'm 1/2 tempted to get it myself, but I'm deciding if I should wait for the PS3 version to be on sale.
before I regret anything
YAY for both Sine Mora and Dokuro right?
Dokuro is one of the best values on the Vita, so without a doubt.

Sine Mora is a firm no. It will take you a LONG time to 100% it and is quite easy to fail / lose.
Is it normal for there to only be one free ps3 game? Like, is this what it is on average?
For PS+? We normally get one game a week for either PS3 or Vita.

If you have MediaGo on your computer and sign into the store, both should show up as free. I just downloaded them myself for my PSP.

Not looking at the trophies I'd say it is a firm yes. It feels really polished and the controls are good, the main problem is that for newcomers it is quite the difficult game to even beat on the first level.
For PS+? We normally get one game a week for either PS3 or Vita.
Cool, thanks dude. 1 game out of all the potential older ps3 titles is kinda Meh but the discounts are sweet, and the vita selection is killer!

And i have to give a big yes to sine Mora, it ain't that hard, just gotta replay parts and find the patterns sometimes. Its a gorgeous, smooth playing game. Don't worry so much about trophies, you know?

Maybe this is just me but is anyone seeing the PLUS discount for Bit Trip Runner 2? I swear it was there and now its gone.

JK, just came up! Weird

yes for Sine Mora, at least based on the demo. If you like schmups, it seems pretty awesome.

i prefer hard trophies in general. Super Stardust Delta, for example, has cakewalk trophies. I beat the game on my second try (granted, i've got solid but rusty Super Stardust skillz) and had all campaign related trophies over and done with.
