You keep all of the games you paid for. The free games are only playable with an active sub.
I tried it out for the first time last night. I'm liking it a lot more than I thought I would and wonder why it hasn't gotten more discussion. I planned on playing it for 10 minutes before bed to see what it was like and went to bed three hours later.

The only downside of the game is it is a little heavy on the cutscenes. At the same time, at least they are entertaining cutscenes, and seem to be used in place of a loading screen to get you to the next level, so you never really feel like you're loading the next level.
Platinum Games is awesome and so is Vanquish. I really hope they end up with the Darksiders IP from THQ - I bet they'd do something fun with it. I haven't seen someone who has actually played Vanquish severely dislike it, but it just wasn't very high profile and it wasn't a sequel to an existing franchise so I think it just kinda tanked. It does have an 84 on metacritic though.

I'm on my third playthrough of Vanquish and I'm still finding little things (like the soldier named 'S. Mikami' and the fact that you can rip robots in half under the right circumstances and then call them 'cheap pieces of shit' or something - and apparently the disc weapon can also be used for melee?). Besides, what other game has a button that's used to smoke?
Besides, what other game has a button that's used to smoke?
Every Metal Gear game. :p (though it doesn't get a dedicated button, I suppose)

I became a PG fan as soonas I saw the animations on the weapons on Vanquish. I can't think of another game where a dev put so much effort into something so simple that is used so often. Not a CGI scene like an FF game, they made all those intricate animations for the wepons and they all look incredible. I have been praising the game since I got it a few years ago.

As a little cap on the discussion I had about the differences between Plants vs. Zombies on mobile and Vita, I finished the Android version of PvZ, which manages to be the worst of them all by far because it doesn't even have any other real modes outside of the campaign. At least I can grind for weeks to unlock stuff in the iPhone version to eventually unlock puzzle, minigames, and survival modes for the game.

 • I noticed that they didn't mention the four free games for the vita anniversary in the official ps store update. Last week, were there any free vita games (like patapon, etc.)?

 • Also, I really enjoyed Spec Ops but the game is really hard on fubar. It's the only trophy I'm missing and I may have to quit since it is just a slog for me.

No.

Where are you stuck currently? The first place I got seriously stuck in a firefight in FUBAR was in the
parking garage with the mounted machine gun
that and that damned
"Free bird...move in!" helicopter gauntlet run

Playing a game like Spec Ops with barely decent gameplay and oftentimes boring combat scenarios on harder difficulties just shines more light on its flaws. It really is a narrative-first game.

That being said, I played it on Hard and enjoyed it quite a bit, I just hated the parts that became a slog as well.

I played it through on normal first, then Suicide, and I got about 3/4ths of the way through FUBAR before I lost interest. I think the balance of challenge and fun is at Suicide. On normal you can get away with not making use of shifting sand traps, squad fire commands, stealth kills, executions (for bonus ammo), grenades, and you don't have to be too careful with poking out from cover until later in the game. At suicide level you have to make use of all the tools in the toolbox, but there is still a little give in which you can recover from mistakes and press on without dying and having to restart.

For instance, in the section after you first get the sniper rifle I kept dying on Suicide. On normal I didn't even notice (nor need), the
high ground on the building on the left after you zip down. After dying several times trying to fight across the building from cover, I killed the guys up there, sprinted over, killed a guy below, and set-up on top and rained fire down from above while my squad advanced from below
. Finding that on my own and making use of it to clear that difficult hurdle was an awesome feeling.

Here's The Drop for this week:

Darkstalkers: Resurrection – The beloved Darkstalkers fighting game franchise is back and ready to take the fight to current gen consoles in this double-pack of Darkstalkers games.
Featuring a unique and colorful cast of characters blended with fast-paced fighting action, Darkstalkers Resurrection contains two games (Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3), for the price of one. Quantum Theory – Many years have passed since the world war inflicted catastrophic damage on the human race, leaving only a few survivors. In their new community Cocoon, life has been threatened by a black material called Erosion, creating a post-apocalyptic environment. Surviving humans recruit a militia to conquer the Erosion and set out to take down the evil, Living Tower. Arriving at the scene is the stalwart warrior Syd, whose only intentions are to destroy the Tower. He meets the beautiful and mysterious Filena as they both ascend to the top in their search for answers.

Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear – Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear is the sequel to Heavy Fire: Afghanistan that sends soldiers after a captured spy who holds the plans to a secret Iranian nuclear weapons facility.

Psych Yourself (PSN Exclusive) – Psych Yourself provides the game consumer with a whole new experience,” says Vlad Starzhevsky, CEO of Creat Studios Inc. “Test Yourself was good at testing and training your innate abilities such as Intelligence, Attention Span, Reaction Times and Memory.
I tried Sine Mora on a higher difficulty tonight and wet my pants. How will I fare in Big Sky Infinity?
It's decent. If you're good at figuring out all the bells and whistles of the game, I'm positive you'll get a kick out of it.

crap, just realized the sale on big sky is over this update. so i need to decide pronto. wish i knew what sales were happening because i'd grab it if i think i'm close to $50... but right now i'm only in the $20-30 range.

Well it's only the 10th of march so you still got time to indulge in some of the future sales this month. I'm positive there has to be a couple more.
Figured it out, and Wild Arms is now downloading on my PS3. :)

1. Download and install Media Go: http://mediago.sony.com/enu/features

2. Sign in with your PSN account on Media Go.

3. Click "Store" on the top-left.

4. Search for each of the free games, go to their pages, and click Download on each.

5. They will now be in the download list on your PS3, and you are free to cancel the downloads that Media Go has going. :)

Thanks to Jut for the heads-up about Media Go!

I just checked Media Go, and it turns out you can claim all the games in the free games promo through it. So the list goes:
Wild Arms (PS one Classic)
Patapon (PSP)
Piyotama (PSP)
Patchwork Heroes (PSP)

I have a psp, and I remember loving the demos for Patapon and Patchworks Heroes, so this news made me quite happy. :bouncy:
Thanks guys, I just purchased this 4 games for $0.
I already checked and they are on my Ps3 download list :D

This might help you out.
If you have a PS3 and a Vita, the game does cross save!
Not only that, but trophies AREN'T shared.
Example...
*play on vita and unlock 3 trophies
*auto transfer save to ps3
*ps3 gets up to date with you vita version and you unlock the same 3 trophies again.
Even more importantly... AT WHAT TIME!!!
This is what I'm wondering. My favorite is when they update early people complain oh I didn't download this or that. I love how Sony updates the store. It's such a mystery.
Vita updates are usually end of the month.
the jist of all the updates aren't usually announced at the begining of the month though :)

Leaving PS Plus In March
 • March 5th – Guardians of Middle Earth
 • March 12th – Quantum Conundrum
 • March 19th – Dungeon Defenders
 • March 19th – Foosball 2012 PS Vita
 • March 26th – Plants Vs Zombies
We should get one PS3 game this week, one PS3 and one Vita game next week, and the last Vita game in two weeks.
We should get one PS3 game this week, one PS3 and one Vita game next week, and the last Vita game in two weeks.
Some good stuff this month! Looking forward to The Cave.

That's the exact schedule that they've posted, so I doubt that they're lying about it.

cant wait to play this on vita :<
I really hope its tomorrow
You're asking the wrong people... When the Blog updates the day it goes live you and everyone will know at about the same time. Until then it's just guess work.

Personally I'm most excited about Joe Danger 2 this month. Was bummed out that retail and digital games can't share save files (never had a chance to test it), so I'll have to replay Spec Ops twice for the platinum:( putting that on the backburner for now I suppose. The Cave looks cool as well, but I'm not much of an adventure game guy (except for Walking Dead, loved that).

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013...e-world-dlc-online-multiplayer-wallace-wells/
When we created a game called Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, we meant it. “But,” you might have asked, “what about playing against other Scott Pilgrim fans from around the world?”

Sure, our side-scrolling beat-em-up based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s award-winning graphic novels let’s you play as everyone’s favorite lovable loser: the titular Mr. Pilgrim. And yes, you could team up with your pals for some couch co-op, playing as one of Scott’s kooky cohorts in this charmingly 8-bit retro-gaming world (all while rocking to the chiptune sounds of ANAMANAGUCHI). But what about online multiplayer?

With the latest downloadable content, your question has been answered. Out now on PlayStation Network for $4.99, this new DLC not only adds Wallace Wells to the roster, but also brings online multiplayer to the game. No more crowding on the couch (unless, of course, you want to… but that’s your business). Instead, you can summon your pals from around the world to take on Ramona Flowers’ evil exes – and earn four new Trophies while you’re at it!

PlayStation Plus members get 20% off for two weeks (March 12th, 2013 to March 26th, 2013) on the multiplayer DLC, and the updated Ultimate Edition.

Check it out, and let us know how Wallace stacks up!

So it's gonna be $4 to us PS+ users for Wallace Wells and the Multiplayer DlC? Mehhh. I'm on the fence about getting it.

YES!!!! I missed out on Rayman Origins for Vita when it was on sale a while back for around the same price. That I will be getting for sure. And I do believe that's the cheapest I've seen Lumines as well. I might end up getting that too.

Decided to get Dynasty Warriors Next at the last minute, since I liked the demo. I understand they're fairly simplistic hack and slash games, but I've never played one through before so I think I'll probably enjoy it. After Lumines this week for $13, I'll be past $100!

Then no more spending for me for awhile.
