Ooo, I was mistaken on that, point conceded. Unfortunately for your point, all other websites are not Google and you’ve proven why repealing NN would be bad. Thank you.
No, but if you read the article, Google wants NN cause it would hamper any lower level startups.... while completely leaving Google/Netflix unaffected.

They are just the big names, and the big proponents for it.. it's why their names get thrown out there so much.

I'm with Gurren, take it elsewhere. (have been saying it all along)

You know what hampers startups? Local monopolies.

If you’re so against this conversation, why do you keep responding? Walk away. There’s a reason the vast majority of people are for net neutrality.

Can anyone recommend the PS4 game Shoppe Keep? It seems like my kind of game but the Steam reviews (which is where I get most of my reviews before buying a game for any of my systems) are mixed. It does have controller support on PS4 which is why I would be more likely to play it there. And I like the premise of running an item shop.

First off

2nd. Google, screaming that yer youtube will be throttled. Oh no!!!!!

then you find out, GOOGLE WOULD HAVE TO THROTTLE THEMSELVES in order for that to happen... Or in other words, NN does not effect Google at all.... either way...

https://www.dailywire.com/news/24004/everything-you-need-know-about-why-net-neutrality-harry-khachatrian

Same applies to Netflix, read their own statement.

Quit reading the doom and gloomers.

Hey, with NN gone, Twitter will now need to answer for the periscope child porn rings they let go on... (read the news thats not on CNN/Reddit)

But hey, this is the PSN deals thread... why don't you go discuss this elsewhere instead of putting your fear mongering in the "deals" thread.

(Just cause I know it sends many into a rage)

Yeah, Net Neutrality is the concept where ISPs are prevented from slowing down or speeding up sites or services based on whether they like the content they provide, how much they're paying them, or whether they have competition to a service they own. Mobile providers don't have NN, so there are a bunch of "deals" they provide where certain services don't cost against their data caps or dumb things like that. The most well-known instance of this was Netflix being throttled by Comcast and Verizon until they paid up, which they obviously did for the best interest of their customers. Thankfully, NN became a thing after that as ISPs were definitely getting more brazen in their attempts to block or throttle services or sites over various issues. Net Neutrality is one of the few issues that nearly unites everyone in this country, as the internet is a big part of our daily lives and should be protected from the abuses of ISPs.

That article is very suspect. It starts as a general briefing of the subject before nosediving into Google, Google, Google and losing its focus. Looking around at other articles on the site throws its reliability/credibility into question, as well.

Just got a PS4. What are the odds the FFX/X-2 collection will go on sale during this holiday sale? I'm in no rush, I just want to get it to have it but it occurred to me before buying it that I might want to hold off to maybe save a few bucks if it goes on sale during these specials.

I would be surprised if there isn't a big FF sale with most, if not all, of the FF games on PSN going on sale at some point in the next few months.

It quotes googles OWN description of their operations, yep... questionable. Netflix/Google switched to a peer based operation. NN rules would NEVER apply to them.

It's just one article, that happens to actually describe NN correctly (and why it will never affect Google no matter how hard Google whines that it will) The pro-NN articles out there, completely skip that fact.... or in other words, LIE to the reader about the subject.

I brought up Google *ONLY* because they are one of the biggest proponents for NN... and everyone seems to follow what Google says, even though Google is straight up lying about the subject.

Why not "NN" for UPS etc... 5000 lb packages should cost the same as 5lb packages, after all UPS is just a dumb pipe.

That analogy is so bad it hurts.

You keep talking about Google as if all web sites works as it does.

Explain why it's "so bad" cause its the exact same thing.

And you still can't READ. I keep saying google, cause they are the biggest proponent of NN, google puts their name out there to be discussed.

Google/Netflix/Amazon are the big ones, NN won't affect them... only their competition.

How about this. a VOIP start up that may revolutionized the way we communicate in the near future let's say holographic teleconferencing they would not be able to flourish as the ISP/ Telecommunications conglomerate will throttle their service or force them to pay up in order to get full service due to them "using" their infrastructure but what it really is doing is choking the life out of it before it begins because it's in direct competition with their phone service. This is counter productive towards innovation but then again Ted Cruz said we are all snowflakes because we are against it so it must be a good thing.

Thats EXACTLY what Google was doing....

Exactly what Twitter has been doing...

And AGAIN..... that this NN BS elsewhere and out of the PSN deals thread.

You know, I'm all for arguing in the threads but this is too much.

Just got a PS4. What are the odds the FFX/X-2 collection will go on sale during this holiday sale? I'm in no rush, I just want to get it to have it but it occurred to me before buying it that I might want to hold off to maybe save a few bucks if it goes on sale during these specials.
Best buy has a physical copy for $20 (if you're in any of the store within 25 miles of me, I hid it in the back behind all the other games). I don't recall seeing the double collection going on sale on PSN. I'm probably wrong about that but knowing me (I stupidly buy FF games that I'll never have a chance to finish in this or any other lifetime...and I already played and beat both), I would have bought it if did.

Also, Frisky, the list of the sales by date they expire is awesome.

You really shouldn't have...because now we'll expect that ALWAYS.

Maybe then a suggestion for your usual master list if you continue that trend? A different color for the end date for games that expire not this upcoming Tuesday?  I don't know if that's more work or less or whatever.

I do make the end dates red for those games ending by the next date, but this sale is too big to waste characters on that.

I love how you keep arguing while at the same time telling people to leave. And you are ass backwards on NN. You keep getting your talking points wrong. Websites are not the ones affected by NN regulations. ISPs are. You keep saying competitors to Twitter and Netflix are negatively affected by NN which is complete bullshit. Repealing NN will reduce competition of those services. The talking point you are looking for is that NN prevents smaller ISPs from starting up. But that talking point is bullshit because the big ISPs already have local monopolies. Why do you think all the ISPs are for the repeal (and only the ISPs are) while everybody else is against it? Because they’re going to get rich. That you are spending all this time defending them is hilarious.

Now feel free to keep arguing while also whining that this isn’t the place to argue even though the thread creator himself stepped in. I, on the other hand, will end the discussion here because arguing against your idiocy is a lost cause.

You're continuing the conversation as much as anyone else.

I honestly don't know much about NN. It's one of those things I've intentionally avoided... though I have read some on it, and I've also read your article.

Your article does seem particularly biased - with any issue, you're going to have 'bought and paid for' articles, so a single article in and of itself is meaningless [this goes for both sides].

One thing I would say is that your article seems google centric, and honestly, that's not what I'm worried about with my limited knowledge of NN.

What I -am- worried about is something others say is possible - internet becoming like Cable. That is, you buy 'packages' - if you want unlimited access to Amazon/Stores/etc, you pay $X a month. If you want unlimited access to Social Networks, you buy -that- package.

Or, any variant of that - basically, your ISP dividing up content that they serve to you, and selling access to said content. Right now, it's my understanding that NN absolutely prevents them from doing this, but w/o it, they could.

I don't know if what I'm saying is 100% correct, but I do know making it google centric is dodging the issues people are actually discussing.

So I just went to turn on my PS4 and go to the store to pick up a couple things from this week's sale. Turns out my TV has kicked it. Balls. Apparently I'm heading to Costco sometime this week for new TV. Any suggestions?
Figured I'd ask if anybody recently grabbed a TV that they are very happy with that they use basically for gaming.

I love my Sony X900E. I don't think they sell them at Costco but you can likely get free shipping and no sales tax from this place. It's back to the BF price.

I Don't ever talk about hockey, but I watched the Jean Claude Van Damme classic "Sudden Death" today. That is a goddamn amazing movie.

LOL. I watched an episode yesterday of his new parody series Jean Claude Van Johnson on Amazon. Pretty good making fun of himself.

FINALLY got to start Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and am loving it! Having a mild case of psychosis myself they are doing a good job at portraying it.

And I honestly mistaken the NN talk with the Xbox thread, but whatever Sudden Death is amazing and I think that's something everyone can agree on.

1000$ for a tv seems like way too much money to me.  I am more than happy with the 135 I paid for the 45 inch tv at walmart.   I would only pay that kinda dosh for a tv if it was a package deal that included 3 years cable/internet free.

How do I fix the internet connection issue on my ps4?  Damn thing refuses to connect or stay connected wifi wise for the last three weeks.  And it is the only one having the issue.  vita ps3 vita tv 3ds ect all connect just fine.

The Sony X900e is a sweet TV. It was my 1st choice when I did the upgrade to 4k HDR10. But it didn't come in the size I needed for my limited space. Also, as previously mentioned, $999 was a bit steep for me at the time.

After hearing more positive reports on Hellblade I regret not pulling the trigger when it was $20.

If you only paid $135 for your TV, I'll bet you have a crappy router too.

:)

I'm just kidding. I don't have any answers for you other than to unplug it for at least 60 seconds and of course check for any system updates.

I'm sorry but I can't even imagine how shitty a $135 tv looks. I'll stick with the $1000 one. To each his own.

As someone who bought all of the middle weight champs this year, a 55" TCL P605, 65" Sony 900e, and a 75" Vizio M75, the Sony is well worth its asking price imo.

I would've gotten the 75 instead of the Vizio but I couldn't justify almost twice the price. All are amazing though

TVs have gotten so much cheaper in the past 5-10 years. My main TV is a Sony reaer projection 69 inch HD TV that cost me $2k+ about 8-9 years ago. Still works well and has a good picture but it’s old outdated technology.

On Black Friday I bought a 32 inch Roku HD TV for 150$ For the bedroom. Pretty low end, off brand, 720p but you know what? It looks great! It works awesome for when the wife and I want to lay in bed and stream TV. I wouldn’t use it as my main movie/gaming TV but for strictly watching TV in the bedroom it’s perfect.

Now the main bad boy needs to be replaced and ultra had 4K is getting cheaper and cheaper. I’ve seen 55 inch ultra had TVs for under 1,000.

So yeah your money goes a lot farther these days with TVs and while I wouldn’t say 135$ TV is going to be the best picture quality available, for a person on a budget, it’s going to be fine and the quality is better than you might think.

I understand what you're saying. Makes sense. I guess I assumed the $135 tv was the main tv but to stream stuff on it's probably not bad at all.

If you buy a smaller tv (because of space, whatever) not only is it cheaper but you don't really need all the bells and whistles as much, so I can understand spending a smaller amount.  But for the size, the Sony is kind of a budget TV for that range of features.

Have 2 games I was going to buy, but they're on sale until next month.

Will wait until tomorrows sale and see what new stuff comes up. Rather wait before using my 20% coupon.

I'm gonna do the same. I briefly debated grabbing Far Cry Primal, but I know it's been cheaper and what kind of a CAG am I if I don't wait for the cheaper price? If nothing goes on sale tomorrow that I may want, I might just get Horizon Zero Dawn dlc 20% off.
