That stopped, and it switched to separate sales. It was awhile ago... at least 6 months, maybe even like a year and a half ago that the major switchover happened. We had a few weeks without any significant ps+ discounts [only one or two] and people started getting worried. Now we get separate ps+ sales, usually.

Yea. I still got a pre order. Just have to get the rest of the money together. I tried it out at best buy, and it made me a believer. Its a definite risk, but what can I say, I'm a sucker for new game tech.

I preordered one too. Do you suffer from motion sickness? As I've gotten older, I feel like I've become more sensitive to motion sickness. It's a major factor on whether or not I really decide to keep the unit. I'm curious about VR but I too know that Sony doesn't follow through supporting its peripherals
 
As Frisky noted, Rocksmith 2014 Remastered is out today, and anyone who has the original Rocksmith 2014 gets a free patch today that upgrades it to Rocksmith 2014 Remastered.  It doesn't come with the 6 new songs (gotta pay separately for those), but it otherwise has all of the new features.

Nope. Motion sickness has never been a real problem for me. Reading while in a car, fishing on a boat, always been fine. Only thing that I can think of is roller coasters. I get the stomach in my throat feeling really bad. But I dont think thats going to be much of a problem. As for sony not following through with their peripherals, Im hoping, and have a strong feeling, this is going to be different.

I've got one on preorder. It's probably a stupid investment in the long run, but a lot of my friends and family are interested in VR. It'll be something of a conversation starter I guess.

I'm not getting it because I don't have the room to use it plus the whole VR thing is gimmicky to me. I wouldn't mind trying it out but I don't see VR games holding my interest very long. I prefer sitting in my chair, a standard controller and a monitor/TV. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't come up with some VR shenanigans (outside of Virtual Boy...lol) considering their history of gimmickry.

It's OLED and suppose to have a nice movie mode along with the game support so I think it will be worth it when I buy it eventually. Right now, after I'm done paying something else off, I will be buying a LG OLED 1080p first though. I say this because 1080p OLED TV's are becoming impossible to find and I'm NOT INTERESTED in a 4K OLED UPSCALING my games!!!!(hates upscaling).

fuck the 4K TV's can't even do Lossless video but the asswipes will wanna sell 8K TV's which won't do it either and the vast majority of movies will be upscaled(see: 35 mm. film). Maybe down the road when the Panasonic/Sony OLED collabo comes I'll think about it but I don't relish the idea of swapping out 1080p for 4K tv every time some 4K source material, be it games or movies, comes up. That and the extra device costs for Ultra BD.

Anyway after I buy a Samsung(if anyone here owns one) or LG OLED 1080p TV I'll then buy a Sony VR quite a bit later as I know I'll be able to get one.

 
I'm thinking of jumping on RE4, is the PS4 version much different graphically or otherwise than the original? I don't want to pay $10 if it's basically the same as the GameCube version.

you don't want to buy a 4k TV because it up scales? most tvs these days have great upscale capabilities these days. Upscale improves the picture period.

Early PS+ adopters got it for free on Vita all the way back in 2012. It was actually one of the first games to be available for PS+ on Vita.

Just read that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a 90 GB download plus another 40 GB for COD4 rematered.  130 GB for two games.  My 500 GB HD is just not going to cut it with Uncharted 4 and The Witcher 3 already on it.  It is not even my main console but since I game share with my Dad we got COD and BF1 digitally.  I may have to just bite the bullet and upgrade the drive.

I enjoyed it on Dreamcast back in the day but I thought Jet Set Radio Future was overall a better game. I WISH they would finally port JSRF. Still, it's great to have this on portable. It's much better than the GBA version.... though that version wasn't too bad if you were used to the Tony Hawk games on GBA.

I would give my kidney to have Jet Set Radio Future ported to current gen. I'd even settle for a handheld version on the Vita. The visuals, gameplay, and most of all the music made it one of the best games I've played. Its a crime how underrated that game is.

Honestly that was like the best thing I've done for my ps4, I don't have bandwidth limits but 1tb is incredibly hard to fill up with games that I'm actually playing.

I can't access any page on the PlayStation store, and I recently had my account hacked and $100 worth of unauthorized purchases made on my PSN account (which I notified PlayStation support of last week as soon as it happened).

Even when I try to log in (when I could get to the PlayStation home page), it says "Your account has been banned or temporarily suspended". I tried to reach support again but it says that the website is down.

I would if I had the disposable time and income, but i've got a kid (and another very soon) so my money/time is better spent elsewhere.

I have no illusions - it's first gen tech, so it'll have some issues. But it's also supposed to be pretty great for first gen consumer level tech.

We'll all have VR in twenty years or so -- the long term potential is just too impressive [business meetings, sitting with the avatars of friends/family that live 1000 miles away on a vr couch to chill/watch a movie together, exploring mountains/planets, porn, live concerts, etc].

It's definitely the future. And I don't mind waiting awhile to experience it. I'd jump all over it if I had the cash/time though.

 
But the odds that enough people buy this and Sony continues to strongly support it are slim. In order for this to work it needs to be with the system from day one (kind of like what the Xbone tried to so with Kinect) or be the entire system. Having the PS4 with regular games and having this accessory you need to purchase separately so you can experience all of these other games that run on the system isn't a plan for sustained success, and the history of these stand alone accessories across all systems through the history of video games doesn't suggest this will last.

I've got one purchased and am trying to procure as many of the launch titles as I can to do videos for each of them along with whatever I can write up about them.

It depends. I don't view VR soley as a 'gaming platform'. Like I said, I think in 20 years it'll finally be the 'video phones' of the 80's come to fruition -- business meetings, hanging out with faraway friends, etc. So while certainly PSVR will have games, Sony would be smart to also create 'experiences' -- climb mountains, deep sea diving, concerts, etc.

Support is always an unknown. It's chicken/egg -- they won't support it unless enough people buy it. So it really depends on whether or not this is the right year for VR. Maybe it is, maybe it's Gen 2 in a couple years, or maybe Gen 3 a few years after that.

But I definitely don't look at it as a 'video game accessory'. That's not what this is. This is a new medium. This is like first gen TVs - you go over to the neighbor who has one to see how amazing it is, with some black & white variety show on... but eventually? It's everywhere, it's a given, it's dominant. I don't think we'll see that for awhile, but once they get it to a certain point there's going to be people who practically live in it, for better or worse. [worse, cough]

I just got off of the phone with them now and they said that the refund is still processing and takes 3-5 business days, and that my account should be unlocked by tomorrow (hopefully).

Then I can finally buy Jet Set Radio and play it at work while my boss isn't looking.
