And they likely decided that fixing that cost more than the game ever took in, or at least, would ever take in going forward. To all of you thinking PS4Pro will do 4k natively are in serious delusion, denial, or both.  The specs just simply cannot handle it.  And even if it can hit native 4k on some games I promise you it will be at 30fps or less.  Do some research and see the type of power it takes PC systems do hit 4k natively and then go check the PS4pro specs and tell me that it can do it.  Bottom line is there is no chance in hell.

It's definitely a matter of taste. I traded in my slim and later bought a superslim when I saw one on clearance. I like the smaller size and the sliding door for the discs. I would suggest that anyone who buys a superslim set it up vertically, however, since some of the cooling vents are on the bottom. That said, since I'm not interested in the Resident Evil sale, I spent most of my afternoon off today playing PS3 launch titles from my backlog. I played Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword and Resistance: Fall of Man for the first time today, and I like Resistance the most so far. I want to try Metal Gear Solid 4 next but I'm going to play that one tomorrow after work.

I don't forget it... I have like 35 psmobile games that I can no longer play, because I switched vitas.

That said, I don't consider that the same thing -- it was a completely different ecosystem, and it failed from day 1. Turning off failed ecosystems, while sucky, is completely understandable to me since if nobody is buying anything it can't support itself. This is a different animal than removing items for download from a successful ecosystem.

[note- don't get me wrong -- I do think they should still be running a download/activation server for psmobile, and they should have just taken down the store/etc. But it's still a different animal.]

 
I can't justify/accept Sony's approach to ending PS Mobile that easily. Even if PSM sales were low overall, it was still purchases that were made for a currently active console. Wouldn't have cost them much to maintain the PSM activation servers until Vita hits end of life. I have about 20 PSM games installed and with the activation servers gone I can't even get a larger memory card without losing them all.  Fat Princess : PoC will now fall into the same trap. Might be a different animal, but it's the same end result for the consumer...  sucky.

 
Oh please, people like me have been saying it for years. It's been like this with large companies, and it will be like this until they stop making it just a license. Walmart's done it, Microsoft's done it. Once the PS5 or PS6 is out, your PS3 stuff will eventually go to, regardless of whether Sony is around or not. It's nothing new.

I got RE Umbrella Chronicles for wii but haven't played it much yet.  Is it worth it to sell my wii copy and pick up the ps3 one? (and I have a move controller, so I would have motion controls either way.)

My taste just wants something smaller that works, preferably new. If it's junky in the sense that it'll fall apart, that's another story!

 
I prefer the pS3 slim over the Super Slim. In fact, I saw a PS3 super slim at my local thrift for $50 and I still passed on it.

Totally agree. I have three slims (because backups) and feel that they are by far the best model of PS3. The Super Slims just seem overly cheap. Saw a 500gb Super Slim at a local Walmart for $150, not a bad price but still not worth it to me.

For whatever it's worth, I'm digging my Super Slim that I got on super clearance at a Super Target. Had to throw an old laptop hard drive in there, and then it took like 36 hours to download all my games--but now it's running fast and running cool. It's a solid little machine.

Agreed that the top looks stupid though.

 
Bought my mom a ps3 super slim last year from GameStop, it was like $100 after flipping those Jurassic worlds (you guys remember that).  My mom uses it every day, no she doesn't play games but its never given her issues plus she gets to watch her Blu-rays

Totally agree. I have three slims (because backups) and feel that they are by far the best model of PS3. The Super Slims just seem overly cheap. Saw a 500gb Super Slim at a local Walmart for $150, not a bad price but still not worth it to me.

I think all consoles have that

PS1 slim > PS1 due to not over heating (Remember the upside down systems?_
PS2 slim > PS2 and PS2 Super Slim (there was a super slim)
PS3 Slim > PS3 and PS3 Super Slim

PS4 - No verdict yet, but I like the buttons for the SLIM more than the base model.. but that's personal feeling.

Wii > Wii Slim

SNES > SNES 2

NES 2 (with AV) > NES
Genesis 1 > Genesis 2, Genesis 3

Saturn - Verdict out the difference is based on the button shaped.. I heard one is more reliable than the other, but not sure.

Also remember internal revisions.

Out of that list of Tuesday's releases, Eiyuu Senki is the only PS3 release, but it's the only one I'm interested in. It's a visual novel/dating simulator where you're a guy who gets to choose between multiple women. But, it's already out on PSN. Is it coming to PS4?

Rez Infinite FTW. Just hoping the devs didn't put overemphasis on the VR stuff. But Rez is up there with my favorite all time games.

wow! Thanks! Really didn't know about that, it's weird that I find myself excited for it but that free Duke nukem they gave us on psplus was really a surprise to me as my ps4 broke that same week, that game kept me busy for a couple weeks so I was excited to see that their releasing another for the ps4. Really enjoy that gameplay

I was referencing everyone else's comments about the super slim's supposed bad build. None of us really know how any of the models will last in the long run, but the super slim isn't the piece of crap that everyone else would like to believe.
 
IMHO, some gamers like to base consoles more on their design attraction than actual specs. If it looks cheap and bulky, then it's bound to run like crap, right? I admit that I thought the SS was ugly as hell when I first laid my eyes on it back last year, but I opted for one because of affordability and that it would've been an rarity to find an Slim model in top, playable condition. Never really had any doubts that it'd break down on me, due to Sony's consistency of quality when it came to the entire PS family's slim models.

Gems of War got a huge update. Lots of changes to pvp, 3 new character classes, new kingdom, new explore quests where you fight the best of the best in kingdoms and have a greater chance at predetermined trait stones, good stuff. I got the update last night with an hour left til the new pvp ranked system reset and grinded wins til time ran out. Great stuff that they keep updating this game. also trophy/game icon are changed. Only thing i don't care for is the flying colors when you get a match now is kinda visually odd, and they have a new splash screen that you have to press x on to start ;) also loading is improved

also i couldn't get past the first fng level in the mw remaster until i beat 15.1 seconds for that trophy. :) perfectionism

Man that's a long list of what comes out tomorrow. I got Aragami already set to deliver tomorrow from Amazon. I'm not doing the whole VR thing so passing on all of that. I maybe get DQ Builders ... but can wait for a sale to get it digital... or will import the vita version.

I'm waiting on my physical copy before playing it... I'm not to worried about the VR stuff... it's still Rez.. .it's still the same basic game.

Yeah and, as an Xbox One owner as well, I'd be happy just having Rez HD made backward compatible. Wonder if this being a PS4 exclusive may prevent that from happening (since the devs/publishers decide).
