No peripheral is ever a success really. Adoption rates are just never high enough. VR will be a success is it comes as part of the console.

For some reason you brought my place of employment into the discussion when there was no need to.

As far as sales forecast going down ofc it will when the projections were way higher than the amount of units physical made.

I also feel like you're just focusing on the US market when I'm focusing on worldwide where it has been a huge success.

If you don't care for vr and wish to see it fail than that's fine.

Downloading a few purchases that I've made off of PSN recently, and holy shit does this take forever. Maybe my internet is just really bad? 4-5 hours just to download enough to begin playing Bloodborne (14.1 GB) seems insane. I like the idea of going all digital, but this makes me hate it.

I assume your console is has wired Internet instead of wireless? That's how mine is set up, and it helps. Having said that, download speeds can certainly be slow on PSN, the best solution is to just play other games or go outside and check out the world while your game downloads.

Mine stunk when I was 25/25. Averaged 18-21. Now I'm on 100/100 and I get about 85 or so. Way better now.

I love my PS4 Pro except I'm having an issue where it won't shut down or go in to standby.. some googling shows that Stardew Valley might be the culprit but I won't know until I quit playing this crack in the form of a game.. lol

I also picked up the Don't Starve pack after it didn't click with me after getting it free on PS+ mainly for "together" as I'm always looking for couch co-op games to play with my wife.  Side note, Overcooked has to be couch co-op goty, game is so good!

I've had a Pro since it launched and haven't had a single issue with shut down or standby. Played probably 10 different games with a mix of digital and physical on it with no problems.

There were about 15 games featured during the PSX Keynote, so I'm not sure what show you watched where there was nothing. There has been at least a game or two released every week since launch, so the support has been pretty strong to compliment it's good lineup of games so far.

I don't know what there is to cry foul about with PSVR.

The numbers you're presenting as fact are a bit misleading, as Sony didn't forecast 2.6 million units sold by the end of the year, but a research firm called SuperData. They predicted that it would sell 2.6 million units by the end of the year before launch, which was an incredibly aggressive guess considering that the Vive and Rift didn't exactly rack up huge numbers either along with every VR headset maker being upfront that these things were going to be slow starters due to the cost and investment required along with the games releasing still figuring out a lot of things about how to best take advantage of the great things VR has to offer. The fact that SuperData had to slash their prediction down to nearly a quarter of their original estimation shows how foolish they were. Even Sony was expecting things to move slowly, especially warning about likely shortages around the launch. If any of the manufacturers were banking on these headsets to move fast, they did no research about the market they were embarking on and will obviously flame out, which I don't see any evidence that this includes Sony, Oculus, or HTC/Valve.

There are many, many more games than that coming to PSVR this year, so I'm skeptical of your "facts."

Same here. Support is always super sketchy with addon hardware because the install base is always a fraction of the whole customer base for the platform. If SEGA taught us anything with the 32x and SegaCD (as well as the CDX) it's that this is the very stuff that can ruin a company. But then Sony weathered the EyeToy, Move, and other stuff... so maybe they are not doing anything that actually is running them too far in the red to develop (so a failure isn't a financial catastrophe).

Either way, I'm fine with a monitor/tv for a display. Same thing for watching tv/movies. I didn't want a 3dtv. I don't want vr.

 
I'll buy it when it's $99 and still on life support. The cost isn't anywhere near worth it for me at this point.

I bought and am enjoying Abzu. It's one of those games that is very relaxing and nice change of pace.

Also, The Evil Within is very good IMO. I don't have the season pass but the game itself is fun and very challenging. Definitely a spiritual successor to the likes of RE4 (with newer controls) over the direction of the newer RE games.

I finished Virginia yesterday also. Strange experience. I wasn't expecting those graphics and it definitely lessened any emotional connection to the choppy story. Wasn't terrible and I'll probably play it again for the platinum anyway.
 
So how is Diablo for couch Co-op?
I'm tempted to pick it up, but I only want it to play with my siblings.

I already have enough games to play by myself.

Pretty good. You have to stay close since there's no split-screen, and you have to take turns pausing to access your inventory/skills, but it's more fun than playing solo.

Think I'm going to hold off on that one since I already have several easy Platinums waiting in my library that I can complete while playing longer games. I'd bite for 75% off but Virginia does seem like a good candidate for a Plus freebie someday. Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Edition will probably be my only purchase for this week.

I liked the evil within, I played it on the hardest difficulty (not the 1 hit one) and it was easily a 20+ hour game. I found it to be pretty fun, my only problem was not being able to see my feet, I know that sounds lame but the aspect ratio bothered me.

Didn't they patch it later to remove the black bars? Or was that only on PC? I thought I read the patch was coming to consoles too...
 
I'm asking this in both of my favorite threads for as many opinions as I can get.

Regarding Diablo III... I played the main campaign on PS4 but got rid of it well over 1 1/2 years ago. As a single player only gamer, is there more endgame content now after all the patches or a game+ mode? I pretty much quit as soon as I knew I had got to the end so I don't know if there was more to do at that time or not.

Reason being is that I'm torn between getting it again on PS4 so I have my character built up pretty good or start fresh on XB1. If there's nothing much more to do then I'd probably rather get it on XB1 and start over.

They are adding the seasonal content to the console versions and I believe it's getting/gotten the Diablo 1 remake but don't quote me on that last part. Don't recall if the Necromancer DLC was announced for console or not.

The problem for you will be that it's still the same basic content on increasingly harder difficulties for better loot as the end game so if that didn't do it for you the first time around it won't likely do it now.
