last week was a good week this week has been a bust

I've been saving quite a bit over the last year with them. Slow process but I don't spend nearly what I used to because of how much I own and how little I want currently

Here's the way I see it. The Offer is: Spend $100, get $15. So essentially, it's a 15%-off discount on all items that contribute towards spending exactly $100. Spend more than $100, the discount goes down. Spend less than $100, you get no discount.

So, would I buy a full-price retail game using this offer? No. Why get a 15%-off discount on a full digital game when I can get a 20%-off discount on a physical copy at BestBuy with GCU? Heck, buy it during a Visa Checkout sale, and you're essentially getting an additional 25%-off on top of the 20% GCU (which combines to a total 40% off!) Economically, it's a complete waste of money to buy a game at 15% off when you could get it at 40% off.

The 15% off, however, is good for purchasing DLC that never goes on sale. I'm pretty sure if I wait long enough, I'll be able to get Ys Origin, Job Simulator, or the Dark Souls III Season Pass on a huge discount. May not be next week, or the week after, but eventually. So I'm scratching those off my list. However, I've had things like the Tokyo Jungle Animal Bundle and various DLC from Assassin's Creed: Black Flag on my wishlist for ever a year now and haven't seen them drop. At this point, I see this as worth it to pick them up.

So for me, I'm loading up on $100 worth of DLC that I can see never getting any sort of discount at this point because it's apparently the only discount I'll be getting on them. I hear a lot of people received a 20%-off PSN code through the newsletter, which I would have loved to use this weekend, but never received myself, so it looks like the 15% off is the best that I'll do.

Long story short, for some reason my roommate's and my own accounts were disconnected from our respective systems.

Mine was because I put the original HD back in, and his just got disconnected and had to be logged back in.

However on both systems, all our digital content were locked. Every game we bought digitally had a padlock symbol on them.

I thought you could play digital games when you're offline (Which the system I reinstalled the HD on was, the HD had the original games I downloaded on it). But also as I said it affected my roommate as well.

You can play the games purchased by the owner on the console that they have set as their primary. I've done it numerous times when the internet has gone out. This should be of help.

I think part of the problem is that they wound up doing a series of licensed games, most of which were supposedly way under budgeted for the AAA expectations.

Yep, I feel they have an A team and a B team, the A team does the AAA, the B team does the licensed..
Devestation was amazing though.. and I didn't mind the rest, but they weren't the best.

I feel Star Fox Zero was due to Nintendo's meddling.

Though, mine was after I put the default HD back into the console.. but I am happy because I got saves I thought I lost from 2014 back!

As for my Roommates, it was his primary system which never leaves his bedroom.. but when he turned it on.. he was logged out. The only thing I could think was the fact he had an account on my console I had just put a new HD in and formatted.

I am trying to redeem points on my sony rewards account but got stuck on the checkout page because I am using a different computer from the last time (probably ages ago). It is asking for the answer to a security question and i do not remember setting one up or what the answer is.

If i go back to my old emails from when i first set up this account would it be printed anywhere? Or can i reset it somehow?

I can call the contact number if need be so i should be fine but I'd rather avoid the hassle

Likely swapping the HD is now forcing you to re-verify your primary accounts and make sure digital content hasn't been illegally exchanged and all that. If it was as easy as loading it up on a HD and then giving away that HD people would be exploiting the crap out of that.

Picked up shovel knight and planning on picking up the Nioh deluxe ($80). Still need another $10. I was also considering Horizon Zero Dawn but I couldn't find anything on a season pass using my google-fu. Anyone know if there's going to be a season pass?

Also saw earlier that someone said there might have been a 20% off in a Sony weekly email but couldn't find it in my email. Is there actually one or did I misread? Thanks! 

 
I have Shovel Knight on PC but it seems tempting with that Triple Cross Buy at $10.
I heard the base price will also be raised.
Has anyone heard more details on that?
Should I pick it up now or wait?

Both games are great. I would recommend you buy both.

I have put in probably 60-70 hours into Darkest Dungeon. Its my game of the year. Still have more to do in the game too.

I have beaten Shovel Knight four times. Once on Wii U and three times on Vita (Platinum). It is a great game.

Uh oh. I bought shovel knight on ps4 just now and after the checkout page there were 3 shovel knight things to download. I didn't think about it and just exited the store. I went back and clicked download to dl shovel knight but only 1 file downloaded. What are the other files that i missed? Shovel knight was the only transaction btw so i know it wasnt somethi g else

Based on my own experience with them, 4-5 business days seems to be the norm when adding cash to points. A friend of mine can get his within a day and the only differences I can see is he's using all points. I personally think a 4-5 business day wait to process the order is insane these days.

I never spend actual cash ... just rewards points and it typically takes about 3 days before the code is posted to my purchase history on the site. Probably another day or two before the email shows up. I always try to factor that delay in when redeeming points.

That's where I already have it and are mainly considering buying it because I have a problem. My kid also enjoys playing it when we go somewhere with a Vita display and it's digital on my 3DS so I can't just be like here you can play my copy on your 3DS.

Boooo. I was already annoyed about the game being only 10 hours long but if they end up shoehorning in comically-falling-facefirst-into-breasts type nonsense I'll really regret not pre-ordering Horizon instead.

Ok simply put, I am quite pissed off so I am just venting here.

As I said, thanks to a deal I got.. I upgrade to a Playstation Pro
So I went to trade in my Playstation 4 to Gamestop and they would NOT take it because it was dusty. The worker explained he would take it but his manager is extremely anal about dust on the system.

The side vents had dust around them from normal use, since the day I've bought the system I've had it on a shelf 6inches or higher off the ground but never felt the need to dust the console off now and then. However the heat exhaust vents on the back were perfectly clear with no sign of dust on them.

After I was told they could not take the system, I literally went next door to Gamestop to a SuperMarket, bought a can condensed air for computers, and a microfiber cloth. I blew out the side vents, then wiped off the system, it looked brand new save for normal wear and tear.. took it back and traded in,

As I walked out, the manager was walking in to clock in so I asked her about the dust policy. She said they cannot take a console in if it's Nasty, and can't just be cleaned off. So I explained, that my system just had dust on it, it's not nasty, I don't smoke and I take care of my console (except for not dusting off my tv stand/systems regularly.... ever). She then tried to explain that heavy dust on the system can't just be blown off/wiped off and if she opened it, it would be inside the console and have damaged the system, so she and her employees are not supposed to take those systems.

I just blew her off and left annoyed. I had gotten my trade in with bonus, but just frustrated. On the way out, the other people in line behind me, along with the people I went to the store with just told me to calm down.. she was just being a total asshole/prick/jerk about the whole thing and move on.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but the console is pretty well protected. The vents on the sides of the system are heat dispersal but really have no access to the components due to shielding, while the exhaust vents on the back are the more important and fragile ones due to the fans blowing out the excess heat. Also, the only damage dust can cause, is it may insulate the heat, and cause the system to over heat.. normal dust should not conduct electricity and cause the board to short (though I can see static causing this problem).

But, I made over $300 in store credit with promotions so I am quite happy.

Also yes, I realize I made a pun about needing to "vent".....

Thank you to anyone who read this post, I know sometimes I come in here annoyed but it feels good to let it out.

They both are, Shovel Knight is one of my favorite games of ever, well worth $20 as it is now, and with tons of free DLC coming out soon if you buy now (if you wait, they're splitting it apart into stand-alones soon, probably each around $10), the $10 is an absolute must-buy at this moment.

Darkest Dungeon is incredibly impressive. However I'd recommend getting it on PC if you're not adverse to playing games on the PC, the interface is certainly designed with PC in mind, and even if you don't have a gaming PC I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to run it on whatever you have. Plus it shouldn't be too hard to find a good deal for it on PC.
