Yea, I love the mechanics.
Though I feel stupid that it took me till near the end of the game to realize how to effectively use the slow down pose.
Vanquish is the kinda of game that can look quite simple at first glance but once you get a hold of all the mechanics you realize how much depth the combat actually has. Although the campaign is on the short side it has a lot of replay value cause you can approach the same situation differently, be successful and have fun while doing it. Moreover, the challenge missions add more replay value and can be freaking hard to complete on the harder difficulties (Japanese developer kind of hard).

If only Sega announced a PC port . Vanquish would totally benefit from higher resolution textures and 60 fps.

I'm torn between Wild Arms 3 and Blood &Wine...I know it shouldn't matter with Far Harbor tomorrow but dang it , I want to spend some digital dollars ! Wild Arms 3 will scratch my "nostalgia" itch for a jrpg but B&W will be +30 hours of new gen hotness...ill mull it over while playing U4 MP

It was my favorite games I played in 2014, but yes, challenge 6 is really hard. I liked it so much I did a review / guide hybrid for it.

Wild Arms 3 is a great game, but it's really long. Took me about 60 hours, I think. Sounds like you have other games that you're itching to play, so you might want to save that for last if that's the case. I remember that when I played it, I had about 3 or 4 new RPGs I wanted to play through, and thought "well I'll just get this one out of the way quick since it should be pretty easygoing."...nope. I just remember being really impatient the whole way through as a result. :p

Vue really needs a companion app or something.  They keep sending me emails about new and upcoming shows that I would like to add to the DVR and I have to hope I can go find them in the few days of guide that are available.  Would be great to have a companion app to change channels or be able to add shows to the DVR that aren't quite out yet.

Just finished UC4 & AMAZING, AMAZING, & AMAZING. That was definitely the most frustrating Uncharted game on Crushing, the first 3 were pretty much cakewalks. I also can't see no game topping UC4 this year tbqh so yea GOTY imo. It sucks that this is the final game in what is a great video game series.
I wouldn't mind a spinoff game about Sam, or Sam & Sully or even a grown up Cassie following in her daddy's footsteps. Day fucking one lol.

The later is what I expect the series to go, if we get a 5 I fully expect it to be that
Cassie will be the new main character

I found the game fun, but not the best game/GOTY....

So I just read all MP DLC for Uncharted 4 is available for free. Why did I spend $20 on the Season Pass? For one single player DLC?
All maps and modes are free via updates, but cosmetics, weapons, and such are paid through either in-game currency or the premium currency. They detail what's in the Triple Pack as far as MP is concerned here:

Triple Pack

For those of you who purchased the Triple Pack (also included in the Digital Deluxe Edition), you’ll gain future access to:

  • The first-ever single-player story add-on for the Uncharted series
  • Two multiplayer packs to enhance your multiplayer experience:
MP Pack #1
– Long Gun
– Booster
– Skin
– Hat
– Taunt

MP Pack #2
– Pistol
– Booster
– Mystical
– Hat

– Taunt

What game do you have better than UC4 in 2016 as of right now?
Depends.

I played UC4 all the way through and was not impressed, it felt like every other UC game. (Impressed that is was special/unique, it was fun and I did enjoy it though)
This isn't a bad thing since they are all quality and fun, but I don't see myself going back to play this game anytime soon in the foreseeable future, or even the next few years.

It's not perfect, and there were many parts in the game that left me feeling "C-mon, really" or I'd look at a new room/climbing challenge and just shake my head at what they were expecting me to do. The game is one of those that leave you tired.

Hell was there even a way to
not set off the Mummy traps
I kept trying my best to avoid or go around, but always ended up setting them off.

Not to mention the enemies are probably the biggest bullet sponges since the original release of the first game, though combat, while frequent, seems to be taking a major back seat to stealth kills this time through, and getting into combat is supposed to be a last option.

Plot was decent, and I liked how they worked Sam into the lore among other things, and Nadine was a great 2ndary antagonist.

There are a few other games this year I've enjoyed more than UC4.

I've honestly sunk well over 60hr into Battleborn since release, and absolutely love the game's campaign but it's not a GOTY container.

I could see Dark Souls 3 getting GOTY though.

I played Ratchet and Clank through 3-4 times after release and platinumed it.

Nothing else comes to mind, I do think Quantum Break might get a dubious honor.

I agree about ratchet. I consider uncharted 2 an all time great, not uc4 so far. Ratchet is the GOTY so far. This was actually my first ratchet game

Somebody spotted a Flash sale link on the store.

The Golden Week sale was decent. I spent about $35, which is more than I normally do on weekly or even flash sales. (That's just for Vita though.)

must be nice to not be an addict
Even if you aren't buying a lot... to come here weekly multiple times looking for that next deal fix doesn't really ring true of having kicked the addiction. I'd like to think I've kicked it, but reality is that I've just bought so much that it leaves little to buy in most sales.

Evil Within complete edition for 4.99 during flash sale thanks!
for the love of Lori Loughlin I hope we get a good freaking evil within sale

I'm so tired of waiting for a good price

also street fighter iv ultra ps4 for me plznty

Depends.

I think we played two different games. UC4 managed to balance wide open exploration with linear story telling in a way no previous game I can think of ever has. Unlike previous Uncharteds, there are multiple ways/paths through pretty much every area and climbing hazard. My game may have looked nothing like yours, except for the choke points.

Enemies die with a single headshot, even on crushing. If they have helmets, two head shots. The only exception are the rare huge dudes -- but even they die with a single headshot once you remove their head armor.

If you're blasting them in the chest, you're doing it wrong.

----------------

Uncharted 4 was absolutely incredible. Yes, it 'feels like more Uncharted', because it IS more Uncharted. But it brought so much more to the table - improved mechanics, massively improved environments, improved combat, improved mobility and mobility modeling, improved and deepened characterization [clearly they learned from TLOU]....

It'll be hard for any game to snatch GOTY from it for me. It was that good. Maybe Horizon?

I'm sure we'll get another Uncharted at some point. There are plenty of ways to work another story in. It's Sony's biggest franchise [action wise, at least], they aren't going to just end it imo.

I gave in and bought it used for $13, I'm guessing they aren't going to release a GOTY version just a deluxe PSN.

Flash sale you say? I feel like a huge splurge of my money will be spend this weekend.

I didn't notice path variation beyond the taking the stealth route or the blunt route, though it did seem at times that even when doing the game stealth we needed to still kill all the enemies in an area to proceed.

Yea, I did notice the head shot... but found at actually harder to do than in the previous games. Off topic and I was wondering this, is the aim assist and the like supposed to be on or off by default? Mine was off, and I wanted to go test in the previous games if they had a version which was on (I'm actually dabbling in 2 again, which always felt the most balanced)

The puzzles (not jumping) were actually inventive and I enjoyed doing them. As I said, I DID enjoy the game.. but I didn't feel it was this stand out, life changing experience. It was a good game, and fun while I played it.

I will admit, I love how lush the graphics and over growth looked. Specially in the later half of the game. I was actually surprised there was no super natural element this time around.

Though this is just my opinion, I still like the Tomb Raider Reboot more than the Uncharted games. Though I really do love Drake's personality and quips.

I'm enjoying UC4 a lot. But also kind of lean towards Rise of the Tomb Raider over it. And while RoTR got good reviews, I think it was actually think it was underrated when you look at the way UC4 was received.

That's not a slight on UC4 by any means. It's great.

I've yet to play Rise honestly.

I was speaking of the reboot a few years back, it just felt more solid and fun to me... like the best game I had played in a while when I played it at release compared to the UC Trilogy.

I was waiting for Rise on PS4 to play it.
