New Guacamelee DLC incoming tomorrow for $2.99. Bunch of new trial stages to unlock three new costumes. Looks hard and awesome.

http://m.gamespot.com/guacamelee/videos/a-look-at-the-new-and-brutal-guacamelee-dlc-el-diablos-domain-6411837/
The platforming sections look awesome and way tough. I'm sure the combat sections will be just as tough, but not as awesome for me because I'm not nearly as good at them and I'm sure getting gold will be a huge pain.

And I never thought I'd see a Jorge Campos reference in a video game. He was awesome during the 1994 World Cup.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I thought some of you would want to know: TrueTrophies is launching soon, and you can sign up for the beta starting today.  You do have to have had a TrueAchievements account for at least a month to get into the beta, though.  http://www.trueachievements.com/n14035/truetrophies-beta-program-launched.htm

Anyone who's familiar with TrueAchievements and is a completionist or trophy/achievement junky should be just as excited as I am.

Why should I be excited about this? I'm not tryin to be a dick, I'm genuinely interested. I've pretty much stuck with yourgamercards.net but they're down all the time now so I'm wondering what's awesome about this site.

Cool, TA is pretty cool, I'll be interested to see how TT does. Maybe it will find a way to create a combined score of both Achievements and Trophies, my totals are pretty split down the middle.

I've never seen yourgamercard.net, but True Achievements is a pretty cool way to track your (and your friends) achievements, comment on achievements earned, it creates a True Achievement score based on how rare or difficult your trophies are, and just lets you access lots of other stats and info about achievements and games with achievements.

For example, here's the page for a silly little Windows Phone game called Breeze that has achievements. It tracks how many people have played the game, how many have completed it with 100% of the achievements, has a list of the people who have completed it in the order they completed it, guides, and more. Every single game has a similar page. (The reason I chose to highlight that game is because I was the first person to 100% it ;))

There's also a profile page for each person, kind of like a Facebook page but pretty much the only thing being shared are Achievement updates of you and your friends..

True Achievements has a lot of fun leaderboards too where it's fun to track your progress against other registered users. All in all, the site can be pretty interesting when it comes to Achievement stats, so hopefully True Trophies is able to replicate that success.

TrueAchievements was created to give more weight to harder achievements, and I'm guessing they'll try the same thing with trophies. However, that's never been the appeal of the site to me. Here are the things I love, and that I'm excited are coming to my PS3/4 gaming:

  • It has a great gaming session manager where you create gaming sessions, much like what PSNProfiles does, but much better. You give and receive feedback on other gamers, so you know who flakes out on sessions and who doesn't. And it's simple to find a session for that annoying crappy multiplayer achievement you need for that game nobody plays in that map nobody chooses. :)
  • There are solutions for every achievement, and people vote on the best solution, so that one rises to the top, and people are "rewarded" for good solutions with a stat in their profile.
  • There's a "friend feed" where you can see what your friends are working on, what they just unlocked, and where you stack up with them
  • It's easy to see achievement rarity (PSNProfiles does a good job of this)
  • Customizable leaderboards. CAG has one. I can see where I rank in my state, my country, or overall in tons of categories. I've met people in my state because they saw me on a leaderboard and wanted to game.
  • You can set and track achievement goals.
  • You can easily sort which achievements you have left for a game.
There are tons of other features, but those are the ones I love.

Sweet, sounds pretty good, hopefully they can get it up and running soon.

Nice. Now what about PSN weekly deals do you like?
Nothing.

Here's a trailer for Do Not Fall Out, which is out on PS3 tomorrow:

Tonight. And if the Atlus sales end sometime soon, we'll find out then as well from "Leaving" category.
Deals are posted tomorrow with the update. None of the Atlus deals are for PS+, so their end won't be known until it either happens or Atlus actually announces the end date of their sale.

Tonight. And if the Atlus sales end sometime soon, we'll find out then as well from "Leaving" category.
No, we only find out when PS+ deals are "leaving". The Atlus deals aren't PS+ deals, so we don't know when they'll leave. They may just shoot back up to regular price tomorrow.

try the cag search feature. specifically, check the responses to this very question, since you've asked every single week for months.
I did that search and it brought me to this same exact post. I don't know it that would help him/

Yeah, the search might not work for him. But he's been around long enough to know that the full sales info goes live Tuesday afternoon with the update.

I actually think when someone signs up for a PSN account they should be forced to get a "Store Update: Tuesday Afternoon" tattoo on their arm. I see this question on almost every site almost every week. "Where is Game X? It's not showing on the store for me." "Why does Game Y show $20? I thought it was supposed to be $5?"

The answer always is "The store hasn't updated. It updates Tuesday afternoon/evening. Just wait."

Of course I still have Carnival Island and Sorcery sealed.   I think I'll grab Carnival Island as it seems more like a jump in and play game for the kids (and thus nice to have installed).  Plus the disc copies of that are worth at least a little more than the sale price.  Same can't be said for Sorcery for some reason.  I might get back into the Move stuff since I traded in the second 360 that my little kids used for Kinect games.  They were kind of mad at me about that so maybe this will appease them and I haven't use the Move stuff in over a year anyway ;).

I just started playing Virtue's Last Reward last night.  I'd like to say right off the bat that I would suggest anyone who does so, make sure to play 999 first (especially if you have it sitting on the backlog as I already did).  I know there was some back and forth here about that a few weeks ago.  But even though I'm merely 1 "level" into VLR, I'd say I've already gotten a lot more out of it from having played 999 than I would have otherwise.

Unfortunately, I think we're too damn cheap to afford them. :hot:
Well I bet the holding company puts them on clearance sooner than later.

Bah, been trying to find 999 for a reasonably cheap price but not been having any luck with that.

I started playing 999 months ago, lol, and can't get past the first puzzle. Have been tempted so many times just to move onto VLR since I hear the story and its "multiple endings" are nonsensical anyway. I'll give it another go, though.

gah.. I bought Rock of Ages.. only to realize it was once offered free on US PS+

sighpie
It was probably for the best since it may be pulled from the PSN store soon. :( MS exclusive?

Are Play 2013 games available for pre-order just this week or up until each game is released?

You can pre-order each game with PS Plus discount up until that individual game is released.

btw, are DATURA and Sorcery worth it?

hmm I still can't seem to add Pinball Arcade and Germinator to Cart :/

I have PS+

says I'm not eligible

btw, are DATURA and Sorcery worth it?
For Sorcery, IMO, no. Before it was released, it was a big part of why I bought a Move, but after playing the 60-minute PS+ trial, I gave up on it. My experience was a very frustrating one, as it controlled horribly.. it may have just been a calibration issue on my end, but I haven't experienced that as much in other Move games. In any case, like I mentioned, there's a 60-minute trial for PS+ you might want to check out.

They had so many deals on this game early on I was kind of pissed (since I preordered it). But maybe now it isn't quite so common any more. It is only $19.99 on Amazon though which I consider to be a deal (since I paid $30 or $35 for it :bomb:).

Looks like VLR has many more endings than 999 based on the save slot (which has more "?" than the 999). Also based on how the game is played it definitely looks like it has more chances to branch. But by the first puzzle you mean the cabin with the flooding water where you first start out? Just make sure you search everywhere and get the two red/blue decoder sheets.

Yeah, which isn't awful but I'm waiting until it looks like it's going to sell out or goes on sale.

Time to decide on the PSN Play program. My backlog is screaming "NO!" at me.

You only have to decide on Stealth, Inc today. You have up until each game is released for the others.

Yeah but I'm gonna commit to 3 (all but ibb & obb) or all 4 or 0. 1 or 2 don't make it a good enough deal for me to consider. So if I skip Stealth Inc tonight, it means I skip everything.

Gotcha. I'm still debating on ibb & obb myself, but I'll wait a couple weeks to decide now that I know I can. Maybe some better sale will popup on something else I want.
