You can drop the mic now, Frisky. But I am worried about this since (1) I just dropped about $50 on PSM and (2) few of these games have received Android or iOS ports. Some of them have been pretty addictive and enjoyable to play so I would miss having them on my Vita.

It's just too bad that when they decided to bring it over to Vita they didn't come up with some way to just integrate it into the normal store. This DRM is probably so deep in the base of the games that each one would probably have required a fair bit of work by the dev. Real shame since there are some real good mobile games.

 
Has anyone else received the 7 day PSNOw trial +200 Sony rewards points email also? I went ahead and signed up and was wondering if it's a pain to cancel, regardless I like the 200 points for trying it out again since the beta.

I also got one for just the trial, which leads me to believe it had something to do with the beta.Now that I see different amounts who knows. I remember sending the same comment on how to make it better "Make PSNOW backwards compatible with games I own with no subscription cost and make the subscription equal to PS+". Still hoping it happens. O:)

There's something interesting going on with the Street Fighter Alpha 3 listing, at least in the PS3 store. The PS+ price is $2.50 but there's something I've never seen before: right above the Add to Cart button is a big gold button that says "PlayStation Plus members pay $2.00". When I click it, it takes me to the listing to buy PS+, but it "soft" freezes my PS3 - my console is frozen but I still hear the chime for pressing buttons. Maybe it froze because I already have PS+?

Does anyone else see the gold button? I don't know if any other games have it because I already own most of the games. I wonder if this will be a glitch to get games cheaper in the future.

I noticed this too. I went to PSN's store on the laptop and didn't have that problem so I would recommend buying it that way.

 
You were able to buy it for $2 on your laptop? The sale price for PS+ is $2.50. I'm wondering why there's an unadvertised, lower price. I just also noticed something else strange that wasn't there before: instead of a publisher, it reads: "1 QA Test Licensee--12/18".

It was for the $2.50 but didn't freeze up on me like the PS3 did. I also have the same problem when trying to go through "Download History" and try to download something I purchased a whole ago. The screen would either freeze or reload and I would have to start scrolling from the beginning.

It's definitely their end for these problems. They even have a game called Yorbie as part of their Flash sale, yet it still shows a regular price of $9.99.

Rebirth 2 was like $7.50 on Steam but that hardly counts.

And I've heard the content in Fureconomics beyond season 2 in the books is not as good.

I wanted to run something by you guys. As a professional graphic designer, it's hard for me to look at a collection of information and not think about how I might tweak it.

I wanted to run something by you guys. As a professional graphic designer, it's hard for me to look at a collection of information and not think about how I might tweak it.

Below is an idea for a tweak to how the first post is displayed. I find this easier to navigate, personally, but depending on how you use the first post, I may have screwed it up. Let me know what you think, and if you like it maybe Frisky could adopt it?

Note in particular that I have combined the regular and PS+ deals, so that you don't miss out on a deal that has no PS+ value if you're someone who just skips straight to the PS+ deals.

The impression I'm getting is that you're suggesting tome to just copy the XBL thread, no offense. I might consider some parts, like maybe combining the PS+ deals with the rest of it since I've been thinking about that for a while. I don't see the need to put PS4 icons next to all of the PS4 games listed in the section titled "PS4" since that's kind of redundant. It works for the XBL thread because they only have to worry about two platforms' worth of games while PSN has PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP, Vita, Minis, and assorted other stuff, so we organize our OPs a bit differently as a result.

I'd probably tone it down on the color stuff outside of what needs to stick out like a PS+ price or the icons for New, Expiring, etc and I'd probably continue keeping DLC separate from the games like before. Thanks for the suggestions.

Not that I have much say because I'm not really a regular here, but even this would be fine. It is a huge pain in the ass to switch between the non-Plus and Plus lists, scrolling up and down (because some non-Plus deals don't have extra Plus discounts so they're not in the Plus section, but when looking at the non-Plus list you can't tell what stuff has further discounts).

Then again, I've enjoyed the set up of the OP in the XBL thread for some time.

 
Admittedly, I've long consider the XBL thread to be the closest thing to a gold standard, since back when reddjoey ran it, though there are still things I tweaked.

The main suggestion I had was combining the PS+ and non-PS+ sections, because it makes it easier to spot sales that are non-PS+ within a list of otherwise duplicate sales.

If you don't want to icon it out, you're right that it's mostly just for looks. The only place where the icons might be necessary is in sections that have multiple game types, like under Bundles. How do you feel about using icons for the Instant Game Collection?

Coloring the game titles orange was just a shortcut to help separate the title from the price info the way that happens naturally when each title is a link, without having to link everything (which I assume is a lot of work with how many sales there are).

Unrelated to this thread, but sometimes I wish all the titles in the eShop threads (where there are fewer new deals each week) were links to the game's page on Nintendo.com, so that I could be lazy and just click to see a preview vid if I've never heard of the game, rather than do a search on it. But I know how much extra work it takes, since I used to do it myself when I ran a 3DS eShop thread on the Nintendo subground, before regular eShop sales were even a thing.

I have purchased the ps3 version of last of Us Left Behind, but the autosave bug makes me unable to save the game in the beginning. When I started playing, I have to go to the pharmacy shop. At that moment, the game said the autosaving...please wait. After that I go to another shop to get the key and then return the pharmacy shop, I cannot open the door although I have the key. When I click the start button, it keeps saying autosaving..please wait. What should I do now? I cannot play the game...

I don't know exactly like the bug but you can delete all the data from your system and reinstall and use cloud saves to start up again. I'm not 100% sure you wont encounter that again...but eh it's worth a try.

I'll agree with your changes.

Except the colors. I know some peoples eyes bleed seeing anything outside white on black... But I kinda liked his colors. Makes the stuff pop out and catch your eye.

All the icons where they are not needed though.. yeah overkill.

The most important thing is readability and that particular shade of yellowish-orange on the background just isn't very easy on the eyes. Honestly the price is distinguished fine with bolded font weight, but if it were to use color I'd definitely choose a different color to go with.

I originally posted this in the flash sale thread but I'm sharing it here too because this is crucial information every CAG should know.

For anyone thinking of buying Alien Breed. The PS3 version is 50 cents less than the Vita version and, both versions are cross buy, so there is really no reason to pay more for the Vita version. I'm not sure if it was said earlier but I thought I'd mention it here because I almost made a costly mistake.

Street Fighter V is taking a service-based approach to post-launch content, which means that you'll only need the SFV disc to get all future content and updates and you can even earn all future character releases for free. They plan on having 16 characters in the base game and releasing new characters periodically after launch instead of waiting to do one big bundle of content, so you can more easily just get the character you're interested in instead of getting it all forced upon you. There is going to be a FTP-style two currency system with Fight Money being earned for playing the game that can be spent on characters and such and Zenny is the paid currency that players can buy to avoid grinding for Fight Money.
