:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

We're barred from discussing the sale because it's too messy in here. :(
I read through this thread because there are occasionally reviews of the games on sale, but it is a huge mess. The op on the other hand is great since the redesign. It used to be pretty messy w/ ps+ discounts separated, but I think it's really useful these days.

Thoughts on Medal of Honor Heroes, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell Essentials?

Seems like every Tom Clancy game I tried I didn't like, yet Splinter Cell didn't seem so bad from the demo I played.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an instant purchase. I had a blast playing it on the 360 and wouldn't mind running through it again.

Has anyone here ever played Blazing Souls Accelerate PSP?
played it for a few hours to make sure the UMD was ok back when i snagged it from gamestop. Seemed like a slightly above avg SRPG. Id say snag it if its cheap and you like the genre. Seem to recall the voice acting was pretty bad though

Those lazy slackers in the other thread shouldn't have invoked the Wrath of Frisky. The poor quality of the sale is on their heads and theirs alone.

The flash sale thread is nothing but worthless post of criticisms that lack any form actual constructive criticism to make the thread to their liking.

Frisky, I applaud you on the hard work you do and keep things up.

damn voted for that board game thing .... but looks like Grow Home, the only one i DON'T want is going to win =(
Yeah, Grow Home doesn't look bad but it's not the one I think most of us wanted. I'm sure that being an Ubi game probably helped it significantly, though it's also the most broad appeal too probably.

Just started playing Peggle 2 and it's actually pretty fun. Had a couple of close calls trying to get a free ball when I try to clear all the pegs. Overall a fun little game for $2.99

What's everyone's thoughts on Until Dawn? Haven't been giving much love to my PS4 lately, but from what limited info I have gathered it looks like its going to be really interesting. I went back like 7 pages and didn't see anything but my bad if it's been discussed a ton

Here's The Drop for this week:

New Releases: August 25th, 2015

Amnesia: Memories
PS Vita — Digital
In this visual novel, you’ll play as the Heroine whose life depends on hiding your recent loss of memory while you navigate complex relationships with five men. Choose your romantic path from the start to piece together that which was forgotten.

Back to Bed
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Digital
Back to Bed is a whimsical and challenging puzzle game with not-of-this-world environments that blur the lines between fantasy and reality. As Subob, you must defy gravity, avoid enemies and treacherous encounters, and use unlikely objects like fish bridges and giant-size apples to guide Bob back to the safety of his bed.

Calvino Noir
PS4 — Digital
The beautiful history of noir cinema is a big inspiration for Calvino Noir — that’s where this indie team has drawn ideas for the look and story of the game. The classic film noir plot and characters are there, but in their own format, which is more closely inspired by films such as Bladerunner, and games such as Deus Ex.

Capsule Force
PS4 — Digital
It is the year 1999. It is the future. After years of intergalactic battles, technology gave birth to advanced, galaxy-capturing capsules — tools that Earth’s World Leaders readily supplied to their intergalactic forces. But many of these forces have gone rogue and are now fighting amongst themselves for these powerful orbs.

Dishonored: Definitive Edition
PS4 — Digital, Retail

Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, winner of over 100 Game of the Year awards, and all of its additional content come to the next generation in Dishonored Definitive Edition. With Dishonored’s flexible combat system, creatively eliminate your targets as you combine the supernatural abilities, weapons, and unusual gadgets at your disposal.

Dying Light Demo
PS4 — Digital (Out 8/26)

Dying Light is a first-person, action survival game set in a vast open world. Roam a city devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help defeat the hordes of flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. Good Night, Good Luck.

I Am Bread
PS4 — Digital
In I am Bread, your goal is to become toast. That’s it. This is where the general world knowledge stuff comes in — as a player we assume you generally know what is required to turn bread into toast, which is a toaster, or more simple than that; heat. So your goal in each level is to seek out or create a heat source by any means necessary in order to toast yourself.

Madden NFL 16
PS4, PS3 — Digital, Retail

Be the playmaker in Madden NFL 16 with all-new controls that allow you to dominate in the battle for air supremacy.

Mega Man Legacy Collection
PS4 — Digital
“Featuring Mega Man 1~6, reverently reborn through the Eclipse Engine, which takes the games’ 8-bit source elements and converts them into crisp HD goodness.”

Nova-111
PS4 — Digital
“NOVA-111 is a sci-fi, turn-based adventure game with an innovative twist of real-time action! Fighting aliens in space for science!”

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Digital, PS4 at Retail
Enjoy the original story of One Piece from Fuschia village, where everything has started, to the kingdom of Dressrosa, a mysterious island dominated by the evil Donquixote Doflamingo. Will your resolution be strong enough to defeat the most dangerous foes, including Doflamingo, Hordy Jones, Ceasar Clown and many more?

Shutshimi
PS4, PS Vita — Digital (Cross Buy)
Shutshimi is a Cute ‘Em Up about the story of The Fishy defending its home waters against an army of mysterious invaders. Squids, pelicans, reverse-mermen, bears, and more are overrunning the sea and it’s up to you to stop them!

Steins;Gate
PS3, PS Vita — Digital

Experience the award-winning time travel visual novel! When teenage scientists discover the ability to send messages into the past, they inadvertently set off a chain of events that alters their future. With memorable characters, outstanding art design, and a heart-wrenching narrative, SteinsGate is a critically acclaimed visual novel that can be experienced time and time again.

Tina’s Toy Factory
PS4 — Digital

Tina’s Toy Factory is a classic match 3 puzzle game with the addition of local multiplayer. You break open crates by matching 3 in a row which releases toy parts. You then combine the toy parts to make complete toys.

Until Dawn
PS4 — Digital, Retail
Experience fear like you never have before through the power of PS4. Every decision you make in your terrifying search for answers could mean the difference between life and death, but for who? Make your choices and carve out your own unique story.

VVVVVV
PS4, PS Vita — Digital

Help Captain Viridian flip to find five crew members, 20 hard-to-reach Trinkets and save a dimension on the brink of destruction. It’s a space opera in the most unique scale with a style that only VVVVVV can bring to you.
Ryan Clements played some solo Until Dawn earlier this week for PlayStation Underground:

Kind of a random question but do you guys ever use party chat when playing a rpg? I ask due to psn friend and I having a shared interest in the fallout series and I have the feeling it'll add to all the all crazy stuff sure to be in Bethesdas juggernaut ?

It might help to go back and reread the equally superlative reviews of previous Metal Gear games to realize that these guys have a tendency to blow smoke.

I've no doubt it will be a solid game though I lost faith in Kojima's writing ability ages ago but keep it together rookies.

Ugh, I haven't even looked at the flash sale yet.

Edit- And I guess I'm just getting Sweetfuse, almost everything else is more than I would consider.  Ragnarok Tactics doesn't seem particularly great so I suppose I'll pass on that.

Edit Edit- Or not? Giving me an error when I try to check out.

Mm really thinking on getting Need For Speed Rivals at that price. Heck that plus the bundle comes to $17.79  :whistle2:k

Yeah I also expected MG getting those reviews, but even if I got it right now I still have other games currently being played that it would sit there for a month or two (or more)

I'm going to let everyone else play MGSV:pP early... I've still not touched the Legacy Collection, RR, or GZ and it's been a long time since I played MGS1 on PS1 and then GameCube.  When it hits $20 or less I'll grab a copy for the backlog.

I think BestBuy GCU was the best & worst purchase ever....

I feel inclined to buy new games although i'd rather wait. Stupid 20% + $10 BBY RewardCertz

lol....they should keep it all week.
I'm probably burned out, because I gave up on the BO III beta since Saturday. Besides the specialists and their specials, everything else is just too familiar to BO II and any other COD game. I've had enough. Not buying it. I hope others can still enjoy the franchise. But for me, I'm out.

I was going to get it Day1, but I think the beta gave me the FPS fix I needed until Halo 5.

I really like BO3, but I see 0 point in playing a beta for extended amounts with a wipe incoming. I will 100% buy it, but prolly not Day1 with it being so close to H5

I only know of Twisted Metal...and I don't play many indies unfortunately
You should try. Indie just means the devs aren't owned by a large company like, say, Ubi.

genrewise indies are generally all over the place.

Grow Home -- adventure/platforming
Super Time Force Ultra - - side scrolling shooter
Twisted Metal -- that was a joke, i figured you knew what that was
Xeodrifter - metroid inspired
Teslagrad - side scrolling puzzle platformer
La Mulana EX -- metroidvania

most if not all of them get absolutely fantastic reviews from critics and, if available, on steam.
