Yeah I totally agree. I wish they had the ability to give each user the game they voted for as part of PS+. Grow Home looks fun and I've heard good things, but it's already a cheap game. I was pulling for Armello.

 
So I heard Until Dawn doesnt have inverted controls....

I thought this was 2015

No buy unless they patch that garbage

Hoping Helldivers pops up as part of the sale but with the latest bundle just added recently, I seriously doubt it will.

Might bite on Hotline Miami 2 if it is part of a "retro" sale if it's the right price.

There are so many games, mainly PC, that I refuse to play due to non inverted controls.

There's a great article floating around that was made years ago explaining scientifically why the inverted controls are correct and non inverted is actually backwards in your brain. (Most game companies understand this and allow inverted controls)
Some can adapt, most just quit playing that game. I will immediately go to the settings and check, if it's not there... Done with the game before even playing it.
I'm old, been playing games for decades, not going to "adapt" to this new crap.
 
Pushing your head forward IRL makes you look down. Pulling your head back makes you look up.

Inverted is the way to go. But for some reason on PC with mouse I never do inverted because that would be insane

Inverted (up is down, down is up) controls came from back in the day when joysticks were the preferred form of input, and were used in flight simulators. Flight controls have you pull "back" to go up (as opposed to pushing forward to go up" because if you're in a dive, and you want to go up, you can pull back, but not push forward (because G-forces are pushing you back).

It's also a matter of how a joystick is articulated - you're essentially controlling the plane (not the airplane, but the spatial plane) that it's attached to, and you expect the joystick to revert to being perpendicular to the plane. So if you pushed forward and the plane tilted up, you'd be *less* perpendicular to the plane, which isn't right.

But all of that goes out the window, because in modern FPSes with modern joysticks, they're not derived from airplanes, and there's no grounding plane for the stick.

So you can argue that historically, inverted controls were "correct", but they're not anymore, and haven't been since mouselook, where up=up is metaphorically "correct". Since most console FPSes are derived not from flight simulators, but PC FPSes, up=up is at *least* as valid as up=down. :)

I don't grab my head to look up and down. If I want to look up, I look up. If I want to look down, I look down. Case Closed.

I only use inverted controls when playing south of the equator.

 
I'll have to search for the article, but the flight sim argument was debunked in it.

Flight sim has nothing to do with it, it's all about the camera and the logical way to MOVE it from YOUR viewpoint.
The youngins have learned backwards, and can't understand why us older folks don't want to adapt. ALL our lives have been correct, and we have now been told by the young that we are wrong. (We are not)

Research why bicycles and motorcycles hand controls are swapped... Makes zero sense, but they are now. They were the same until a Frenchman decided to swap them on his bicycle.

Grim fandango is $6, I have $5.66 in my wallet ha. When I try to checkout though it's only taking $1 out of my wallet and trying to add $5, what gives there?

PSN still has the bullshit that the minimum you can add to your wallet is $5. You may only be $.01 short but still have to add $5. It's ridiculous.

Ever since MS dropped its point system, you pay what it is regardless of price. Sony needs to ditch the $5 minimum add thing.
 
Definitely in for Tron Bonne :hot:, Titan Souls, and Grim Fandango.  May as well get de Blob 2 for $1.50 as well. Hotline Miami 2 is tempting as well but I kind of feel like that will be PS+ at some point and will definitely be cheaper in other sales.

I'm having a hard time understanding how some of these games are considered "retro" unless retro now means anything that was published before 2015.

As per sale, picking up Grim Fandago because it's the "in" thing to do, and Titan Souls. Watching gameplay of Tron as we speak.

Quantic Dream is still talking about the Beyond and Heavy Rain remasters on their Twitter page, but they're still not giving release dates.

Looks like this was the sale I was waiting for.  Probably going to get Hotline Miami 2, Tron Bonne, Child of Light, maybe Grim Fandango?  Have to check out the full list and some reviews.  Titan Souls maybe?
