Skylanders - Toys brought to life, Cross-platform Connectivity *Giants Out Now*

Welp, TRU in Brandon, FL was a bust. No wave 2 figures at all. They had two huge sections full of Wave 1 & older but a few open rows where im guessing the W2 figs were.

I went there yesterday (Tues) morning and they told me all the new Wave 2 figs (minus the reposes which were still there) sold out in 20 minutes after they opened Monday morning. They said they might get more on a truck Thursday. But given how far TRU is I'm not even going to bother. The $4 savings on the Flashwing/Sprocket pair is not worth a 30 mile round trip when they might not even have them when I get there anyway.

So, yeah, to whoever said TRU was the place to get them - not so much ;).

I haven't had such a wasted CAG shopping trip in a while. I also hit up 2 Kmarts and couldn't find a decent single clearance game.

I am going to be buying SSA off of Craigslist. Is there anything I need to look for that may be missing? He has already said he doesnt have the trading cards, but Im not worried about that. The girl at Gamestop mentioned something about an activation code??? The guy says its only been used once and it looks good from the pics. Has the game, portal and the 3 figures. Thanks for the help.

Went to Fred Meyer and while they have tons of the Giants and Wave 1 smaller figs, they don't have any wave 2 yet. I'll just keep checking there I suppose.

My wife actually picked up Flashwing and Sprocket (wave two) at Target on day one. I was at TRU, and also unexpectedly found them there. I went back the next day (the 22nd), which was supposedly when they were supposed to be released, and found more, in addition to Hot Head and LC Jet Vac. I've only seen the latter two at TRU, but the wave two regular figures are most definitely going through other companies, too.

There is a graphic on Gamestop.com that says that stores are getting these "Now".Does anyone know if that includes the 3-packs? I want the 3 packs...

Wife told me they had the 3 packs with sprocket and flashwing in them when she was there today and got the singles of both of them.

Yeah. I hit the jackpot at GS this morning. Guy said they had 14 cases.....got the last two I needed and my kids are now all caught up...

Hit 6 GS's and 4 of the 6 had their wave 2 stuff out. Found plenty of Hotheads, Sprocket, Flashwing, and the V2's of the characters in the Sprocket/Flashwing 3 packs. Only one I wanted but couldnt find was the Light-Core JetVac

I also hit 2 more TRU's and all they had was Wave 1 stuff.

I did find the Sprocket and Flashwing Triple Packs at TRU today, so getting both of those for $40 was pretty awesome. I now have everything I want from waves 1 and 2 except Hot Head. I am holding out on getting Cynder 2 until it's a single. I'm waiting for the Light Core versions of Pop Fizz and Shroomboom. I'm waiting for Legendary Chill, and I am going to hope that getting Polar Whirlwind isn't any harder than it was to get Granite Crusher.

I refuse to buy multiple versions of the same character this time around. I could handle the 5 in game variants last game, but there are 22 in game variants for this game (if you count LC). I was really upset that they locked out the heroic challenges to just the series two versions of the old characters, but I guess they got me there as I will be rebuying those now. Thankfully from the dozen or so I've grabbed so far, I would pretty much say that the series 2 versions do look better. I hate the new Terrafin, but the rest I like.

Think anybody would buy the lot of my 24 series 1 Skylanders on eBay for $100?
Does hot head really just glow from his head and that's it? Just making sure mine isn't broken...
Was going to ask the same thing, so, yeah, I guess that's the way he is. Seems like a missed opportunity there.

I found Hot Head Friday evening in one GS along with a single Flashwing (as in that was all they had). Later we went to the Mall for other reasons and neither GS store there had any Wave 2. Then today I went to another and no Wave 2 there. I went back to the first store and found Sprocket. It does appear that Amazon had Flashwing, at least, in stock some time earlier today. I was seeing $9.99 sold by Amazon on the search page but then when going to the item it reverted to third-party sellers. So they must have had it too.

Hot Head seems to be much harder to find though.

I played for the first time last night and the first trophy I got was the "all upgrades" one when I popped our old Gill Grunt on there to spend some of his money (it had like 20,000) on store items. It's pretty funny that I got that trophy in Giants and yet never got it in the original game even though I maxed out several characters. Then I found out there is a trophy for amassing huge amounts of money on one character - maybe I should have kept Gill Grunts cash on him...

I was also disappointed by hothead only glowing from his head and not his hands as well.

Flashwing is a pretty awesome playing character. Pretty low damage at first, but she's got long range on the projectile, a very nice spin move for killing groups and when you upgrade, an ability that shoots 6 projectiles at once in different directions around you. Flashwing would seem like a no-brainer for a light core since the wings are already transparent.

Oh - also, i discovered something tonight that is contributing greatly to my enjoyment of this game. Triangle skips dialogue and cutscenes. Don't know how i missed it for so long.

Well, we got the 360 SSA start pack in perfect condition for $30. Today we picked up Prism Break, Boomer, & Voodood and Drobot, Flamslinger, & Stump Smash from TRU during the B1G1 40% off. Decent little start...

Bummer, was hoping you may have held out, I decided to sell off most of my series 1 figures, and remembered your post from the other day. Obviously not NIB, but they are all in very good condition, so I think I'm putting out a decent deal. Not nearly as good for you now though. Oh well, I'll post in case anyone else may be interested.

Man, wish I had the $100 to get that. If so, Id just return the 2 3 packs, cuz they will sit unopened til christmas. Great deal there man.

Has anyone experimented with taking the S2 reposes back into SSA?

I'm wondering what would happen if I took a level 11-15 character back into SSA and completed a bunch of heroic challenges. My understanding is that the system just dwarfs them down to lvl10 and you'd stop gaining XP, but I wonder if it would get confused if you started improving the base stats and then went back to SG.

Hmm, I took a series 2 character at level 6 back into the first game. It recognized it without issue, and showed the right level of money and experience.
I'll try a higher level character at some point...

Completed the main campaign.
A bit of a disappointment. Here's what fairly obvious to me:
1. Any lightcore of Series 1 is just a rehash without a single upgrade, except for the little light.
2. You still won't need anything beyond upgraded versions of Drobot, Stealth Elf, terrafin, or flameslinger to finish the game without ever dying.
3. Beyond adding to the name, and being the key for more locked sections, the Giants play no real role.
4. They got rid of the annoying boss sections with Chaos (and rehashing the same skylanders over and over). An improvement over the original, but there still aren't enough bosses.

Meijer has all the old non-Giants figures & adventure packs on clearance. $7 for the singles and $14 for the 3 packs & adventure packs. Picked up the Camo/Ignitor/Warnado 3 pack.

Do we have any idea when the last 3 Giants and Hot Dog will be released? Even a month or general time frame?

I'm trying to figure out what I might be able to get for my son's birthday (which happens to be on Black Friday this year) and/or Christmas.

I have Fright Rider put away for his birthday. Unfortunately he saw the Sprocket I picked up at GS so I kind of had to give that to him. And I had already given him Flashwing and Hot Head right after I got them. So I'm just waiting on Lightcore ShroomBoom, Lightcore Chill, the 3 last Giants, and Hot Dog (who I predict will be a hard one to get for a while once he is released).

I agree on Hot Dog being hard to find. That's the one my gf and I both picked out immediately as the one we liked the most.

Edit: So Hot Head, Flashwing, Sprocket are all hitting stores now? Also, a single Jet-Vac? Any others I should be looking for, is there a single Shroom Boom?

The lightcore Jet-Vac has been spotted. ShroomBoom is still only in the battle pack.

The "wave 2" figs (Flashwing, Sprocket, Lightcore Jet-Vac, and the Giant Hot Head) were released at TRU the day after the game out (but disappeared quickly). From what I understand it was supposed to be a 30-day exclusive for them, but then they started showing up a few other places the following week. I found them at Gamestop then. And others have found them at Target as noted above. I have not seen them anywhere except for that single Gamestop store and that was about 2 weeks ago.

But the 30-day exclusivity will be ending soon so I'd expect them to show up more places soon.

I'm really wondering when wave 3 will hit, and what it will consist of.

Anyone looking for Flashwing, and Sprocket pm me. I can return them to the store, but I'd rather sell it at retail plus shipping to someone interested.

I have everything I want at the moment except the Dragonfire Cannon, but I will not pay for that when I have no interest in the Shroomboom, and I got a series 2 Chop Chop on eBay for $7 shipped. Anyway, my Walmart reloaded like crazy today. They literally had at least a few of every single pack and triple pack from wave 1 and wave 2. The only exception was Hot Head, I did not see him. I even saw a few LC Jet-Vacs which I heard were almost harder to come by then Hot Head, so if anybody is looking for stuff, you may want to check your Walmart.

Thanks! I found a Hot Head today, after finding Sprocket and Flashwing Saturday. I decided to order the Legendary Trio from TRU to get Jet-Vac. I figure the extra cost comes to about $6 each for the other two Legendary figures in the pack, and I don't have to search for it.

It looks like Thumpback, Ninjini, and Eye-Brawl are left for Giants, and Hot Dog and a single Shroomboom for new regular figures. Any word on how many waves there will be in total?

Anyone know when Spyro hits the shelves? He's the only Magic element I really want and I've been waiting to get his updated figure for Giants but so far it doesn't seem like he's out yet. I would think if he's not out now he will be sometime soon since many of the new ones seem to be here now.

Spyro isn't out yet, it is guessed (based on various information and experience from last year) that there will be 5 waves, the first 2 already being out. Here are the ones not out yet (minus coloring variants - these show up as "Special" versions in Giants, but no other changes in appearance or ability).

Regular New
Hot Dog

Series 2 Repose
Zap, Eruptor, Prism Break, Lightning Rod, Spyro, Wrecking Ball, Drobot, Stealth Elf

Lightcore
Chill, Pop Fizz, Shroomboom, Hex

Legendary
Chill, Stealth Elf

Giants
Eye Brawl, Ninjini, Thumpback

Now there isn't much real information out there on the availability of these, other than rampant guessing based on wishful thinking. On Dark Spryo Forums you have lots of people "predicting" a wave will be out prior to Christmas, with all 3 missing giants and Hot Dog, but that is complete nonsense. People and store employees claiming any of the above are out are either misinformed, lying or have seen ones that have been smuggled out of Activision. You know they will drag this out some more, like last year - people were still abuzz about waves all the way into summer. Here are some things that are a bit more reliable:

- Legendary Stealth Elf will be out in the next couple weeks. She is in the TRU Black Friday ad as being "in stock". Some have reported it shows up in system as being street dated for Thanksgiving, when they open early for BF. They will have tons of them, some people that work there have reported warehouses stocking as having TENS OF THOUSANDS of them in the computer. Think Legendary Trigger Happy here. You don't pay for an exclusive that is treated differently in game and not have it in stock to sell. The ones on Ebay are from Canada and parts of Europe (Italy), where it came out a few weeks ago. Don't fall for Ebay scalpers on this one. Educated speculation based on real info that is readily available.
- Legendary Chill is a Lightcore, so will likely show up around the wave Lightcore Chill does so they can leverage having the molds running. Legendaries and store exclusive variants do not always align with waves exactly. Speculation based on manufacturing realities.
- Series 2 Stealth Elf will likely be in Wave 3 when it comes out, since Legendary Stealth Elf uses the same mold and comes out very soon. Speculation based on manufacturing realities.
- Wave 3 might be out prior to Christmas, but more likely in mid January given last year as a reference. It probably depends on stock levels over the holidays, this is why Wave 2 came out early. Gotta have some new stuff for the kids to spend all of that money from Grandma on, right? Pure guess based on history.
- Hot Dog and Series 2 Zap will most likely only be available in a new Battle Pack with the Scorpion Striker. This item was found by data mining the game files. Those two, along with Chop Chop and Shroomboom do not have single pack SKUs that show up on some retailer websites. Speculation, but based on real stocking info and game data.
- The remaining 3 waves will probably contain one giant and one lightcore each. No one knows the order and release date outside of the makers of the game, unless they have inside sources. And those plans could change too. It likely has to do with demand and interest. Speculation based on what's left.
- Current SKUs indicate 8 total Triple Packs planned, with the Battle Packs included, but not including the TRU Exclusive Legendary one. Four are out, and one Battle Pack. That leaves the other Battle Pack and 2 more triples. Triple packs contain 1 new and 2 Series 2 reposes. Fright Rider is the only one left with no Triple Pack or not in another bundle. The other one might be Punch Pop Fizz (Ignitor came out separately despite being 3DS exclusive last year), or it might be Jet Vac, given many got the Portal Owners Pack. It might even just be 3 Series 2 reposes. Triple Packs have always lagged behind waves by a week or two, probably due to shipping. Speculation based on history and what's left.
- There WILL be Sidekicks again, four of them based on Giants. Little versions of Thumpback (Thumpling), Eye Brawl (Eye-Small), Tree Rex (Barkley) and Ninjini (Mini Jini). You can Google for images of the models. At present it appears Frito Lay will be doing this again sometime next year. Reliable info based on interviews, but could change depending on popularity.
- Wal-Mart has a special green Gil Grunt with XBox360 packages in their Black Friday ad, this is Series 1, not 2. Sonic Boom glow in the dark is also shown, but it is unknown reliably if the figure will be solid material (like the earlier ones or Fright Rider in Europe) or just a paint job (like Cynder in the Wal Mart Starter Packs). Reliable info based on the ad.
- Gold Series 2 Flameslinger is not analogous to the rarity of the gold ones from last year. It is just an Amazon only variant that has come in stock a few times, in fairly large numbers. Think Legendary/Granite Crusher availability here. Reliable info based on the website and forums, lots and lots of people have already gotten them.

Thanks for the info defpally. I got my TRU Legendary 3-pack yesterday. Jet-Vac is fun to play as, and I tried out Hot Head finally. I like using him way more than I expected.
is the portal for skylanders giants bigger than the portal for skylanders 1?
From what I've read, it's the same size. The main difference (on PS3 at least) is that the new one is wired instead of wireless.

Yes, the portal is the same size. The wired portal is nice though as I'm not running through batteries. We had to change them every two to three weeks with the first portal.

thanks. I figured they would've made it slightly bigger.

Got the Starter Kit today and returned the portal owners pack I still hadn't opened. For an extra $9, it was worth 2 characters plus a portal, even though I already have the Skylanders 1 portal.

Yep, I definitely like having the wired portal. We had to change the batteries on the old one all the time. And it is kind of cool to have it glowing whenever the PS3 is turned on ;).

cialis online is a widely recognised erectile dysfunction treatment that has become even more successful than Viagra.

cialis 20mg generic contains tadalafil, which is an extremely effective and long-lasting impotent cure. Unlike other ed dysfunction treatments, Cialis starts working very quickly and has longer-lasting benefits. A single cialis dosage promotes healthy, comfortable and controllable erections for many hours.

Over 8 million men worldwide have used buy cialis 20mg. It’s been widely clinically tested, and is proven to have only minor – if any – side effects. For people suffering from erectile dysfunction, impotence is now a thing of the past with cialis.

The batteries were a big enough pain in the last game. I can only imagine the drain on the Portal when using Lightcore figures. That and the battery cover was screwed on so you have to go find a screwdriver and all that stuff. That and kids losing that tiny little dongle.

I'm about to get the first game and with all this portal talk, I'm wondering - can I use my Giants portal (the wired one) to use on the first game, Spyro's Adventure?
