i was going for the GTA San Andreas(ps2) & Madden 07 (psp) and both were priced their regular price (19.99 & 29.99 i think) yeah it was scanned TT

This was at the West Hollywood best buy. So is it only some stores?

Not much in the benton harbor, MI bestbuy. All i found were a couple psp games.

Also, this is a question for all of you who put the clearance lists on palms, how do you do it? Do you break the list into 4k characters and put the lists on seperate memos or transfer a txt file over? I like the convience of being able to copy and paste everything into a memo(like for updating penny guides), but the character limit gets in the way sometimes, like in this sale. It also doesn't help that i can't seem to transfer a txt file without renaming it to get it on the palm and then renaming back to txt to be able to read it.
 
Just got back from GSP & Rt 17 N Best Buys in North Jersey. I went in there to pickup Bullet Witch with the $10 off coupon plus $10 reward certificate for $29.99. Then I decided to skim through the areas. Seems like they restocked on a lot of stuff. The GSP Best Buy didn't have anything when I went on Monday, but this time in the area between Wii aisle and PS2 aisle they had a few discount games from this sale. Some PSP, some DS, a bunch of XBOX, and a few PS2. Since this BB got restocked I decided to check out the Rt 17 N one. They also seem to have been restocked. Because last time I went they didn't have Mega Man Anniversary Collection and Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for $4.99. When I left there were still two of each of those for anyone that's interested. There were other games as well, but only one worth mentioning is Pain Killer for XBOX.

Wait there is a Best Buy in Benton Harbor now? I got family there and last time I went, well... I didn't see much.

I went to one in houston and they had nothing i really wanted. Nothing on my list atleast. Final Fantasy 4 I thought was on the list but it didn't ring up that way.
 
I stopped by the Best Buy near Everett Mall since I was nearby even though I wasn't expecting anything. It turns out I was right, they didn't have anything.

Yeah, just saw his scans - nice, the coupons are good through end of April now. But still, all the ones I printed earlier are good for another month yet ;). And the new ones don't start till March 12th anyway, so you still need the old ones.

not really much to see, but its been here as long as i have, 3 years...god damn i need out of this area.
 
Westwood, CA still has a very, very limited stock of stuff. Mostly stuff that's mistagged price-wise, so take the list. I saw (GC) Day of Reckoning 2 for $14.99 (it's really $1.99, I bought it Monday, it scaned properly), PS2 Arena Football, and some of the more minor games (I think I saw the Hustle and Flatout for the Xbox and a few others.. they had another 5-10 copies of Medieval Resurrection, they're sure to start paying you to take them away soon). They did appear to do a massive restock of those "pre-price-labeled" games (some of the casino games and such with the Best-Buy shaped pre-labelled $9.99 price). The shelves looked remarkably full but not much by way of clearance games, not sure what's up. (after it looked pretty cleared out yesterday)

Worth checking out if you're at UCLA or something. Not much to spend gas money to drive over to see, though.
 
Went back to Garner, NC today, and found a few things on sale, though I didn't get anything.

What I say still:
Xbox- World Series of Poker 1.99
psp- Death Jr 9.99
psp- King Kong 9.99 (like 4 or 5)
a couple other 9.99 psp games.


They still had a few copies of Sprung and Sega Casino in the boxes. The nice girl working games checked the price difference between the box UPC and the game UPC. Sure enough, Sprun was 1.99 and SC was 4.99. But the manager said he would not sell them to me at those prices. He said they were brought in in the boxes and that if they were removed from them that I would pay the $9.99. The girl was nice but the manager was kinda a jerk about it.

They also had Ridge Racer DS, but it had a new UPC sticker on it that rang up 9.99.
 
Well as of this afternoon Elder Scrolls Oblivion Collectors Edition is still ringing up at $59.99...any thoughts? Help would be greatly apreciated.
 
You wouldn't believe what happened to me today, so I won't even bother to explain.

The short of it is this.

EVERY game that I bought in the Best Buy sale, and the games that I traded
for will all have to be sold or returned ASAP.

Of course, everything is sealed.

The only reason I'm bothering posting this, is because I would hate to just return these to the store - I'd rather have CAGers get them.

Anything not sold by Friday morning will be returned.

Shipping costs are not included, but are very, very reasonable.

I can go into more detail later, but the one that was marked down was the original Collectors Edition. Take Two altered the UPC's and started offering the Collectors Edition under the Regular Edition UPC (that's why the Collectors Edition is $59.99 instead of the $69.99 price it was at first). Working at Best Buy, this markdown this year was/is extremely annoying. I keep having people come in asking about some big video game "sale" when it's no such thing. It's a permanent markdown of clearance games, most of which many of the stores (at least in my area) haven't had in for eight months to a year. It happens once, perhaps twice a year and happens at most retailers (as most CAG'ers know). It's aggravating to have people come in and get upset at me when we don't have these games from a "supposed sale" in stock. I generally have to sound like a parrot explaining the whole thing.

I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I hope the OP of the list is found out and fired (and it is a fireable offence). If you're going to post confidential information and cause the company loss of profits (and he has...I've seen posters bitching about the endcap games at the checkouts and demanding they be marked down. They're different SKU's), at least explain what is going on.

I'm glad people got some good deals, however. And it seems the jerkass "hoarders" weren't able to screw everyone as much this time due to limited quantaties of this stuff. I got a (very) few items myself, and noticed people who really wanted the games to play were able to get some, so that is some consolation.

Sorry to vent, but had to do so.

Dude, am I supposed to feel sorry that you had to explain something about a "supposed sale" or that your multi-million dollar employee lost a very small profit. Shit, it's about time you best buy employees did your job. Any best buy I was ever in and needed help employees brushed me off like I'm some six year old without a dollar to my name. Can't say I feel for you much. So be happy you have a position to explain things to people to begin with because it's bad out there. As far as your employer goes, screw them, they lost cents compared to the dollars they make!

The guy who gave us this list should be congradulated not fired! I didn't get one thing from this "supposed sale" but whoever posted this list, drinks are on me!
 
Best Buy in Landmark Center (Boston, MA)put out more stuff

I found a new game that may not be part of this particular markdown but is notable nonetheless. Rave Master for GC was tagged with one of the little Best Buy endcap-type stickers at $14.99 but the rack divider said $9.99, and that's what it rang up at. Of course, I got it for $4.99 ;).

I've never seen this at a Best Buy before - or anywhere, for that matter, besides Fry's where it sells for $29.99 I think.

Also, this Best Buy all of a sudden had a bunch of Fire Emblem Sacred Stones for $9.99 (also with the little Best Buy logo-shaped $9.99 stickers on them like the endcap GBA stuff). I was very surprised by that as it is in a different league from the rest of the $9.99 GBA endcap crap (most of which is not even worth it after the Gamepro coupon). Only one small problem - those damn stickers do not come off cleanly (since I don't plan on playing Rave Master any time soon I'd like it to look nice and new until I do ;) - plus there are some *really* picky traders on CAG who want things utterly mint).

The only regular clearance/markdown game that was still in stock (that I could find, anyway) was Arena Football for PS2. I picked one up in case anyone wants it.

That's really terrible that people would treat you like that. I'd hope that most CAGers wouldn't, and would understand what this is.

I got next to nothing unfortunately. The weird thing is, a number of games that were cleared out for $2 are games I would have bought for $10-20 had they ever been available for that price! Daxter especially I was planning on picking up at $15-20, but who knows now. I would have picked up Ridge Racer 6 too. Oh well.

Actually, cross off Ninja Gaiden...i'll get NG: Black eventually. But if someone(s) could find the other two, that would be great.
 
The Gamepro $5 off any PS2 coupon wasn't deducted from the $4.99 Star Ocean 3 since it's on clearance, no matter how many times and ways the clerk keyed it in. So I passed on it...a free game is a free game but there's no need to pick up a GH copy of a game I already have.

GTA: SA is still ringing up at $19.99. :cry:

In reference to the guy from Austin who has/is returning all the games he got.......Which store(s) did you return them to and when? I couldn't find any of the games I wanted on the 26th....
 
I found some harvest moon melody games for the gamecube i didnt want to hoard so i just bought 1. they had about 3-4 left. they had it for 9.99. i guess they started pricing all of their games. When i was at the same best buy on monday most of their games were full prcied. going back there later on today to see if any other games got marked down
 
I managed to get Harvest Moon Megical Melody, Maximo vs the army of zin, and legend of heros 3 for psp. Thats it, but I think it's pretty good for first making it out on Wednesday.
 
When they finally build a Best Buy here, I'm going to get a job there, and i'm going to stash all the good stuff in the back and only allow people to access it if they show a proof of CAG membership. Then i'm going to limit them to one of each title.. because you can apparently do whatever you want when you work at Best Buy, according to people's tales in this thread.

I think he sold most of the games to CAGs already. Take a look at the trade forum.
 
FYI, Some BB stores are getting mild restocks on some items. I lucked out and picked up 2 games today that according to the Media Clerk "were sold out Monday, and got these in a shipment this morning."

How the hell is it illegal to post a list of items that are clearanced? I mean if they are clearanced the store wants to get rid of them as soon as possible. I mean what would the reason for termination be "he caused more of our merchandise to be sold" ?

Don't even pay him any attention. BB Corporate clearly got to him a long time ago, and he hates devil customers now too. God forbid people actually purchase stuff after it's marked down.

Wolfpup Daxter is so worth it. One of may favorite on the PSP
