TPS definitely is a flawed BL game, but it had some pretty good ideas. The jump mechanic, while gimmicky, makes for interesting gameplay. So much so, that going back to BL2 feels oddly stiff. Laser type weapons were a nice addition and the story was at least the most cohesive of the bunch (though, that's not saying much). It's a good game, just not a good BL game.

i cannot justify buying the same game on pc against, unless i can get it for free.
Implying that console and PC versions are even comparable.

Was happy to see they got rid of Anthony Burch, too. So Borderlands 3 story/atmosphere won't be a shitty reddit meme fest. Although I'm sure it's at least three or more years away.

it is basically an expansion pack, that gearbox released as cash grab, instead of releasing a proper borderlands 3

Last Light is easier than 2033 that I recall although 2033 gave me no difficulty on the default setting.  Part of the game is that you have cheap ammo rounds and military grade ones.  The military grade ones hit harder but are also used as currency so firing them off means not buying stuff later.  So, in classic gamer fashion, this meant I never used them because what if someone wanted to sell me a laser-photon cannon for 30k bullets later?  When I reached the final stages of the game, I had military grade bullets enough to go trigger happy and not run out.  Point being, it wasn't much of a challenge.

I liked both 2033 and Last Light -- LL I actually fakeybro'd based on how much I liked 2033.  It is very linear and you need to appreciate the whole Soviet Bleak atmosphere to really get into it but I found the shooting to be pretty solid as well.

is Metro Last Light worth the $4.99 price tag? i heard the prequel metro 2023 was extremely difficult, is the metro last light easier?
You missed out on some of the recent Metro Redux Double Pack sales:

http://isthereanydeal.com/#/search:metro%20redux;/scroll:#gamelist

I had an easier time w/ LL myself, yes.

Both are great, though. You really should play 'em both.

EDIT:

I should note, the STALKER games felt much tougher than Metro. I didn't play Metro games on Ranger Mode, though.

I like how coy Gearbox used to be with whether or not there would be a Borderlands 3... meanwhile everyone and their mother knows that's the only franchise they have that's worth a damn.

thanks, i will just wait another 3-5 years, and get metro last light when it is around $1.99 -$2.99, or when it is free or on humble bundle pay what you want.

Those pictures reminded me how cool Lynchwood looks in BL2 and yet it's only comprised of side quests so most people don't even know it's there.

I just played through metro 2033 redux last week, and boy did i think it was a miserably boring and mediocre game. Bad shooting mechanics and it doesn't know if it wants to be a full on fps or commit to being survival horror. The game was okay but I'll definitely never play it again, and I'm not even sure if I'll waste my time with last light given how i felt about it.

That being said a lot of people do seem to like it, and both games reviewed (relatively) well.

I see that was made in-house by Ubisoft. I hope they release it on Steam.

From everything I've seen the Pre-Sequel is kind of crap. Couple that with the fact 2K Australia is out of business and there isn't going to be anymore DLC and most of the coop action is still in BL2 that has far more content. I don't even think the content DLC for TPS had a raid boss.
It's not crap. Like Neuro5i5 said, there are a lot of good ideas in the game. It also has some of the most entertaining playable characters. Jacks is the best deployable character in the series, in my opinion -- very powerful. Nisha is a beast. Aurelia is the true sniper that's been missing since Mordecai. Having a Claptrap in your party is ... an interesting experience.... unlike any you've had in the previous games.

My biggest gripe is that it's much more linear and very short, compared to BL2.

Well it wasn't really "released by Gearbox". They weren't working on another BL game and 2k wanted one. They helped produce and with some of the assets, but it was mostly 2k Australia that created the game.

i am only referring to borderlands. with their cel shaded graphics. LOL
They look a lot better on PC. Trust me, they really do.

While TPS wasn't as extensive as I hoped after playing all of BL2, it really grows on you. The characters are really, really good. When I started up BL2 as Zer0, I just kept wishing I had Nisha's skill tree. It's a huge difference going back to BL2 after playing the Vault Hunters in TPS. You can't double jump or ground pound, so doing basic shit like running from point A to point B is more annoying and time-consuming. Cryo is much better than slag.

And in terms of story continuity, it completely fills the gap. BL1 -> General Knoxx -> TPS -> Claptastic Voyage -> BL2. That gives you the whole story.

Fake EDIT: Thanks for that, Mooby. It's good to know that Anthony Burch didn't make his sister say "Mmm, dickalicious."

It's a good think I sent the friend invite to you; if you had invited me, your level 1 private profile would have gotten you ignored.
Actually that would have been good.

My condolences on your new 'friend'.

Hope you like hearing about newegg and bullshit.

At some point I need to play these games.. I tried and got bored very quickly with them. You guys talk about it constantly.
i think they're the type of games that the longer you play them the more addicted you get. whenever i start one i'm a bit bored and then once the skinner box sets in with the constant gun looting you start to get addicting, plus once your character gets a few levels up and you can modify your action skill and mix it up with different elemental weapons the combat becomes much more interesting. plus once you get into ng+ it gets much better. last year i played through bl2 once w/maya and was okay with it, but then later in the year i came back to start ng+ and wound up pouring 130 hours or so into the game in about a month and a half

I'm not even sure if I'll waste my time with last light given how i felt about it.
I think Last Light is the better game but if you hated 2033 then I don't think LL will be different enough to make you feel differently. I mean, it's still an on-rails shooter with some stealth/survival elements in the same setting. Saying you might feel differently this time around is like telling someone who hated Far Cry 3 that they might really like FC4 instead -- they probably won't.

On the other hand, Last Light has boobs. Was your primary complaints about 2033 a lack of Russian tits?

New AMD Windows 10 driver just popped. (If you're an AMD pleb like me)

"This driver provides support for Windows® 10 as well as full WDDM 2.0 and DirectX® 12 support which is available on all AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) products, - AMD Radeon™ HD 7000 and newer graphics products."

My long lost twin.

It's not crap.
It's crap. And you're wrong. And you should feel bad.

No offense.

I didn't think 2033 was terrible, as I said, found it mediocre. It definitely knocked LL way down in the backlog.

That is, until you said it has tits. If 2033 had tits I would likely be on my 7th playthrough by now. Do your choices in the game have an impact on the tits (whose tits you see, whether or not a boob job is performed, etc)?

If you want tits you just need to the play the titter clicker game.

Today I learned Windows Key + Shift + Arrow key will move a Fullscreen Windowed game to the secondary monitor. How long has this been a thing in Windows? I've only been working on PCs for 25 years ...

is the amd 8gb vram gpu , your first new gpu in 25 years?

PSA: I bought "Pacman all you can eat edition" yesterday @ funstock digital using PayPal. 3hours later I receive a phishing email from [email protected] saying a transaction was denied and to reenter my CC again.

The thing is the email has my real name as a header. If I didn't check every link first before I click it I could have fallen for it. And the extra "e" in the email add is easy to overlook.

I'm not 100% sure it's funstock fault, just something you guys should watch out for.

Since at least Windows 7.

Edit: Wait, why do you need to press Shift?

Yeah, but I keep my clicking and fapping completely separate. Too much coordination required.
But think how much time you could save if you put them together! This will help!

I also recommend this DLC...so everyday can feel like your birthday!

Then there's the Hairstyle pack, in case the game wasn't creepy enough now you can make your anime look like your ex-girlfriend! (there's multiple foxy hairstyles...assuming you date within your species) Just think, click, fap, cry, repeat...

Introversion announced Prison Architect is going to launch (well come out of EA) in October. In the first like 2 minutes of the Alpha 35 video.

Really need to go back and play now with all the gang stuff they seem to be adding (after watching over an hour of videos since Alpha 35 and the Big Pharma update came out the same day >
