Out of curiosity, I checked amazon.co.uk for digital purchases on games, and almost everything is "currently unavailable". Most of what you can get right now is for pre-order.
Don't worry. Soon enough we'll be able to buy from Amazon Scotland and Amazon Northern Ireland to make up for it. :p

Yeah, but Fallout is a shooter in the same way Skyrim is a fighting game, meaning it's really not. I mean I've heard the shooting is better in 4, but if you want a real shooter, you won't be getting Fallout 4.

Doom is a real shooter. Yes, video game nerds love their RPGs and Fallout 4 is super popular and becoming the cute RPG to like online, but shooters, even SP ones, have a far wider audience due to the casuals and bros. It is what it is. You don't buy Doom for story. You buy it to shoot shit up. Kids like to shoot shit up way more than they like to walk around reading lore and collecting radiated food.
Oh, the shooting in Fallout 4 is TONS better over the shooting in both Fallout 3 + Fallout: New Vegas. No comparison.

Pretty much, since most players use guns in Fallout 3, they kept that going with FO4. So, FO4 threw out the Guns skill entirely - you won't need to level that up to 100 points or anything. Actually, you won't be upgrading anything up to 100 points.

Main attributes go up to 10 stars (10 upgrades) for each letter of the SPECIAL system [Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck]. The stars govern what level of Perks you can learn from, more or less.

A lot of Skills (from FO1-3 and NV) basically got rolled over into this new mashed-up SPECIAL/Perks system. Basically, these skills now act all like Perks. These can be upgraded normally up to 5 stars [with no half-stars allowed] - but some skills won't even go to 5 stars b/c some have 1 star tops or even 2 stars tops.

It feels more like an Id game with the shooting elements with the combat + gunplay (they obviously weren't kidding when they got advice from Id on how to make FO a better shooter game) - but still, they ain't even close to Id's level on the gunplay. There's just still too many systems, Perks, numbers, and skills involved for it to feel more like a much more pure FPS like Id's games normally have going on.

Train simulator. Mostly positive reviews. German language only. Looks like more work than fun.

Must... Resist... Buying...

I would have said I'm having a nerdgasm right now but I think Germans are too serious to feel things like pleasure. Only the satisfaction of working at maximum efficiency.

And with that; back to wörk, wörk.

Oh, and some joke about brexit and how those lazy wankers don't work hard. Or something. Germans aren't good at humour.

So, I keep my discovery queue clear.

Last sale I could do one queue of maybe 3 things each day and get my 3 cards.  Now it seems they're staggering adding things to my queue since today I had 4 things in my first queue, then 1, then another 1. :/

Anyone play Blood Bowl 2 (or 1)? Between it, Goodbye Despair (since I can't spell the damn series name), or OOTP 17.

And yes OOTP will likely be bundled again after the season ends etc. etc. Still tempted so I can say I'm smarter then Hale and the Dbacks front office. Blood Bowl I think I might like but heard the AI is meh, and since I hate multiplayer...not sure.

So what should I be looking at picking up for future bro nights? So far I have only really attended a couple rocket league nights but those were fun.

I don't know, from what I've seen of German made games, they seems pretty damn lazy. Hell, well they were making broken simulator games, some Czechs made industrial efficiency simulator

OOTP 17 was a bit disappointing this year. If you're buying it for an updated roster/season from last year I could see buying it but there seem to be a lot of problems with the game this year for whatever reason. If you're not really that immersed in your league you might not care that there are duplicate players/coaches, players getting drafted twice in a draft, rookies showing up in a league with service time/stats etc., but if that kind of thing would bug you I'd pass on it.

And also, playing with the Dbacks is hard. They have a Tampa Bay like budget this year in the game (not sure what it was last year) and grienke on their payroll, its impossible to do anything financially.

Depth, Shark Attack Deathmatch 2, Killing Floor 2, Mount your Friends, Zombie Army Trilogy, Sonic Racing Transformed (better to get it from Humble), Chivalry (bundled in $1 tier), Lethal League (was bundled in a monthly, but very fun), Damned, Haunted Hell's Reach (bundled, try trading for it), Speedrunners (free multiple times, try trading if you somehow don't have it), Screencheat (bundled, trade for it), Blockstorm (I think I might have a copy of this I can give away if you don't have it), Nation Red, Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball (bundled but crap tier).

It's hard to recommend some games cuz of the shitty discounts on them. I'd love to buy a Duck Game 4 pack, but dat weak ass 33% off sale isn't doing it for me.

If you want max Blood Bowl for your buck, Chaos Edition is the way to go. It has more content than Blood Bowl 2 (More cosmetic customization options on players, more teams) and is generally speaking the best retail Blood Bowl. FUMBBL is free straight-ass Blood Bowl without eyecandy, but if you want one of the retail games (Especially to play by yourself) then Chaos Edition is probably the way to go.

Blood Bowl 2's got some nicer graphics, but as mentioned has fewer teams. The main saving grace is (From what I've heard at least) more of the Blood Bowl playing community has moved to 2 since it's the new hotness, so if multiplayer's your goal you'd likely want that.

Dan Gan Ron Pa -> Danganronpa. I've played both but on the Vita not the PC so I cant speak directly to the steam version. I can, however, say that I thoroughly enjoyed both. Before I bought the first, the series was defined to me as 'Phoenix Wright in the world of 999 (Zero Escape)'. I find that an apt description. It's mostly a visual novel with very light puzzle solving and mini-game class trials. I guess there's also a hint of dating sim, but that's really just to flesh out the characters. All-in-all, if you like Ace Attorney or Zero Escape, I think you'll like Danganronpa (though play Trigger Happy Havoc first as it's the first one, Goodbye Despair is number 2). If you hate both of those, save your money.

Nah, there was nothing sarcastic about your post, you were just being a dick (and got called out on it by lostnumber no less).
the whole joke was that it was obvious he was asking about port quality and not two separate bully games

i thought that would've been evident but apparently not

why would i think he was asking if one game was better than another just because they have the same title? it wouldn't make any sense. but okay.

I'd completely forgotten about The Haunted: Hell's Reach. It had been taken down for a few years but it seems to be back and it's three bucks at the moment. That's one game I always wanted to try out. Apparently it's getting DLC, too.

I also need to get a Zombie Army Trilogy... better farm and sell some Steam cards.

It's pretty clear that this sale sucks when all i see in friend's activity is RPG maker games with big anime boobs.
I might get the Gunvolt games and Transformers Devestation + DLC. Only games I bought for myself so far were the Lostwinds double pack, the rest were gifts.

Tempted to also get Anno 2070 complete, but ugh dat shitty TAGES drm

I was going to buy Invisble Inc. but I already owned it, so I bought the DLC. It doesn't matter what I buy all I ever play is Binding of Isaac and listen to podcast or pandora.

Burgers are a resource, and pirates can attack your cargo freighters laden with burgers sailing for the mainland. Worth considering against the DRM.

It still chaps my ass that the cheapest the Afterbirth expansion has been is the $6.66 of the preorder.

Ugg I hate these steam reviews....all the same. Example:

I died.

Bomb Exploded and I died.

PTSD after friend died so I went for revenge and I died.

11/10 would die again for leaving the hole

Har Har Har....so funny and amazing Steam reviewers. While some go a bit too much in depth for reviews (I do like them just sometimes....they are too long), these are worthless.
I posted this before, but Steam really needs a category-based ratings system (rating graphics & sound, gameplay & controls, etc. on a 1-5 star scale) in addition to the overall yes/no recommendation percentage. I would like to rate games without needing to write reviews.

If Steam implemented this it would give users a much better idea of why a game is rated the way it is by looking at the overall percentage and the individual 5-star category ratings. If someone wants more info then they go to the reviews.

"Looks like it has a 72% rating due to the 2.5 star rating in performance & compatibility."

"The gameplay rating is average but 90% of users recommend this, seemingly for the story (5-stars)."

etc.

Make Steam reviews great again! More importantly make useless written reviews obsolete.

So I mentioned earlier that I was installing new hard drives; I upgraded my 120 GB SSD to a faster 240 GB one, and I swapped my Steam drive, a 640 GB WD Black, for a 1 TB WD Blue.

I just got the system set up again so I load Steam, make sure everything works right, and I figure I'll give Twinkle Star Sprites a try.

And the game works just as it's supposed to. There's no skipping at all! The audio still sucks, but the game is running without any strange pauses. So I try Double Dragon Trilogy: Again, no hitches. Metal Slug 1, fine. Metal Slug 3, fine. Metal Slug X, also fine! Even Shock Troopers runs without the hitches, but it runs slightly faster than it should (that may be DotEmu tinkering with the emulation speed because the game played kinda slow in real arcade machines and suffered from some slowdown) and the music stutters a bit, but it might be a side effect of the faster speed.

The question is - why was the old hard drive causing these issues? Lack of space? The way the partition was created? (It was an extended partition that had a single logical partition inside.)

I intend to ask around at a bunch of forums about this... because this is a very, very strange bug.

I'm not the only one that's had these issues. Other people with varying hardware, both on Steam and GOG, have mentioned this problem with Raptor and that Raiden game (neither of which I own) so it's probably a bug with whatever backend system they use.

Doesn't seem like an upgrade to me. 120GB SSD to 240GB isn't much and WD Black to a Blue? From what know, their Blue drives is basically Green with a different name and it's 5400RPM instead of the 7200RPM before.

for some reason i'm getting mad at tebow's playtime totals. he's like the kid who says his parents are rich but everyone knows it's bullshit, yet he keeps on insisting. i'm gonna sound crazy, but i wish i can explore his mind, and figure out what his motivation for doing so is...

Oh lord mentioning dot emu around Foxhack is like mentioning drm around mysterd.

It's pretty clear that this sale sucks when all i see in friend's activity is RPG maker games with big anime boobs.
It's not just the sale it's Steam in general. Softcore anime porn is a good chunk of what's getting released these days. I mean there was just a Kickstarter to mass produce like 486 phoned in Booby Bounce games that got funded way past its goal.

Maybe it isn't much, but I only use the SSD for the operating system and work stuff. I don't need that much space (except maybe a game or two.)

The WD Black was three or four years old already. The WD Blue I got was 1 TB, only the 2 TBs and up are 5400 RPMs / rebranded greens.

Edit: Motoki, I know I go full MysterD when it comes to DotEmu, but this just really baffled me. There is no reason for the hardware to cause these bugs, and yet, it did. So why? Is it an OS thing? I don't know, but I intend to find out.

I flipped some xbox games to gamestop today due to the 50% TIVs and got a steam card. Ended up buying the witcher 3 on Steam even though I have had it on GOG for forever now. I just got around to starting it but I figured cloud saving plus the achievements was worth it.

That was probably a dumb thing to do but oh well, YOLO

Free dog pet in Marvel Heroes if you login some time in the next week (before 11:59PM PST next Thursday).

Some other stuff going on too since it's the last week of their anniversary.

Actually, if you ever have any intention of playing it the The Civil War Starter Pack on sale 90% off at $3 on Steam right now is a good deal. It comes with Captain America and Iron Man hero unlocks (you get ultimate upgrade tokens if you already have them) their Civil War costumes, a STASH storage space for each of them and a couple of boost potions.

The storage alone is really useful and usually costs a good bit more than that to get.

I hope Tom wins verdun so I can hear him make fun of weilers mom on discord. I'd show up for that even if I don't have the game.
Now that you mention it... I have been very curious lately of so much weiler's mom talk mm. I do wonder if she is like ...

I don't think there's an equivalent of "gold" deck in the american deck. Let's leave it as Diamonds xD.

Bit of a shame, for the most part I'd probably not notice the dupes but it'd bug me a bit if I did come across them (more so then having coaches like NULL Macey in 16). I'm a few years in on OOTP 16 Dbacks, but the budget was fairly small as well from what I recall. Luckily in that save, Kendricks died and his son took over who loves to splash the cash, not enough for my liking but better then before.

Black > Blue. I don't know why you you didnt it the other way round, from Blue to Black

I asked this elsewhere but I figure my fellow CAGs can help too. I'm looking at getting a PC around Christmas and will most likely play Civ. 5, Sims & other games like that. Probably not many Triple A games since I still have my PS4.

Civ 5 Complete is super cheap right now on Steam. Should I go ahead and purchase it now or do you think it'll be cheap again closer to Christmas. I guess it can't hurt to keep it in my account for a few months before I use it. Thanks for the help!

If you are not going to play it now and you have to wait till Christmas then I don't see a reason you should buy it now.

Just wait for Winter Sale.
