I feel no loyalty to Steam whatsoever. I've been buying stuff on Origin, GOG and Uplay for years. Sweeney is just an asshole and I despise him and his company.
Yeah, basically this. I've probably spent more time/money on UPlay in the past year than Steam but then UPlay never treated me like an imbecile with stupid "pro-consumer" arguments about why exclusivity is actually really good for me and forced me to listen to people who don't understand the difference between a store and a platform say "But PS has exclusives!"

That said, I might have been tempted to actually make an account and use the coupon on the R6 S4 Season Pass but, since DLC is excluded, my resolve doesn't need to be tested.

What you can do though is use the coupon on the gold or ultimate pack, if you currently dont have any season's operators unlocked you will get them all for less than $1 per operator (if you buy ultimate). I'm tempted to do that but since I just got the deluxe for all season 1 operators from uplay a couple days ago I'm bitter as now its not as good of a deal for me.

i can't find the goddamn ig thread so screw it.

https://www.indiegala.com/comet-sword-steam-bundle

the pit infinity just came out last month so i guess that's a good deal???
I saw this the other day, forgot to post it and buy it.

So, thanks for the reminder.

I'm missing some of those DLC's for The Pit and those other games.

EDIT:

Crap, it went up 50 cents. Still seems like a solid deal.

Don't make me ask another country to investigate you Sleepy Joe! You're corrupt and want to undrain the swamp. Everyone knows it! If you're listening Zimbabwe, you really need to start an investigation on the BidenCats. They do terrible things. Terrible, let me tell you. Every country should investigate the BidenCats, and get their emails! Remember Benghazi!
Listen here disgraced former president. I'm only sleepy because I'm pounding MelaniaCat all night while you and PutinCat watch furry porn.

Not a bad idea, but I already had S1 & S2 unlocked so Ultimate isn't a great value. Gold might have been decent except it's still nearly twice what the S4 Pass would have been if they let me use the coupon. $8 was tempting, $14 isn't nearly as much so.

Okay, Day 3 or 4, who's counting? (Don't answer that.) What are we featuring? Action games of all stripes, as well as Day 2's sloppy seconds.

Remember to include your choices for prizes along with your answer to the question du jour.

Question: The gastric-brooding frog of Australia appears to have been extirpated since as early as the 1980s. What is the common name and Latin binomial of a South American frog that had a similar reproductive behavior and which is now also presumed extinct?

So I decided to do my discovery queue...  And I'm greeted by explicit drawn furry porn in the screenshots.

I know I could not see it by having adult only games hidden, but I thought Steam had a rule against explicit content in the screenshots.

EDIT:

Also, you can only get 6 cards from the queue per day now.  I got 9 yesterday, or so I thought.

EDIT2:

I'm dumb... I didn't get 6 cards and didn't get 9...  I'm just dumb.

Arcana Heart 3: LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!!  (Yes that is the title) is $6.00 on GMG, previous low is about 22 bucks so probably a glitch.  2D fighting game, probably limited interest here but now you know regardless.

edit:  upon logging in it was actually $4.68 for GMG VIP, whatever it is that qualifies you as one of those

Looks like Towerfall doesn't run on macOS, probably a 64 bit Catalina problem. Not too surprised, considering it's a very small developer and it's their old game. However, no indication of this on EGS and it's actually the first game I've tried yet that has had a problem.

I had a good response to this semi-daily giveaway. The correct answers were the Northern Darwin's Frog (Rhinoderma rufum) or the Darwin's Frog (Rhinoderma darwinii). You can, if you're not seasonally depressed enough already or you hate amphibians, read about their grim fate here.

Tomorrow we'll have a fresh category and a mixture of fresh and slightly-stale keys, and of course, a brand-spanking-new question for your bemusement. Have a good night, folks!

So, for those buying Ubi games on EPIC Store...

...Do they just give you a key and then you activate it over UPLAY service and not have to deal w/ Epic Store?

Or do you have to hoop-jump - you buy the Ubi game on Epic; have to use Epic Store to boot-up your Ubi game; then booting the game jumps you into UPLAY; the game boots up; and then you get nailed w/ a UPLAY double service whammy?
I didn't notice an answer to this, but from a little testing on the Epic giveaway of Rayman Legends (which I was doing because I was posting somewhere they have Trials:Rising Gold Edition for $6, a pretty deep discount), it seems you use the Epic client to add the game to your Uplay library (they don't send you a key--you log into Uplay via Epic and it adds the game) and then it is just a normal game in your Uplay library. Installs and runs without starting the Epic client at all. So, however you start the game, it's going to run through Uplay, but it doesn't need anything more than Uplay. I didn't try starting the game from Epic specifically, since I was mainly just looking to see whether Epic was ignorable.

Can't say every Uplay game works the same, but it's a point of data.

@Tyrian

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I bought Div 2 anyways from Epic - and I'm happy that I can just use UPlay Client.

So, then I went and bought Crew 2 after and then today just bought GR: Breakpoint.

W/ those 3 Ubi games over on Epic - you buy from Epic; on Epic Game Store Client you click to Link the game and your Uplay account; sign in w/ your Uplay account to link it; and then you can use only Uplay if you want (to download, install & play). Works great. Don't need the EGL (Epic Game Launcher) at all for Ubi's stuff.

Also bought World War Z (not an Ubi game), since it was so damn cheap.

You mean, other than:

-improved library

-improved search

-remote play together

-deep dive function

-interactive recommendations system

-micro-trailers function

-announced a new VR game (that allows even competitor's equipment to play)

Meanwhile, Epic Games Store can't even manage a shopping cart.
Agreed that it is much more expansive but at the time Steam has been out for how long compared to the other storefronts?

Tomorrow's Epic freebie appears to be the Tomorrow Corporation collection. Those titles are already on the store, so it would be a change from freebies being new additions.

Okay, we'll call it Day 4 just because. Today we have sims of various kinds and leftovers. Same rules--PM with answer and preferences for prizes.

Today's question should be easy. Most of us, because we're sentient creatures with the ability to reason, take medicine when we become ill. Some among us, however, harbor a deep-seated belief that taking pills with sucrose and drinking potions made up of water will resolve their infirmities. I am, of course, speaking of adherents to which "alternative" medical system?

oh boy, i luv selling my doubles for two cents a pop in order to finish my badge. and if anyone says, bruh we could've traded, i' gonna cut ya.

Steam phoned it in for this Winter Sale.  The cards for the Winter Badge / Steam Game Awards are the same from last time.  Too many hoops to go through and still have to spend $30 non Steam credit money to get a $5 coupon - really?!  Yes, EGS has better deals on games that they list.  You could say the same for last year and possibly the year before with respect to Humble and GMG as well beating Steam price wise without silly gimmicks.   The only positive that I can think of off hand regarding the daily Steam is that Steam is offering to help people understand more about the features Steam has, which is way more than EGS (for instance).  On a side note, if you do not want the Epic launcher, just look at the Ubi games for sale - great deals to be had and once you link your Epic and Ubi/Uplay accounts and the initial sett up, you can run it just under Uplay.

Having said the above, there are still good deals with buying through Steam such as complete your collection type sales and Steam basically has most of the games on sale.

Steam is like the Amazon of the digital game marketplace.  It's all fine and dandy until they're the only show in town.  Then the service and the prices start to suck.

I'm glad that Xbox Live has taken a giant step forward with Gamepass and so has the Epic Game Store.  I'm also thankful for GoG Galaxy 2.0 beta so that I don't feel so tied to Steam's platform presentation anymore.

Okay, Day 5 is here. Same rules, different day.

Today's theme is adventure games.

Today's question is for fantasy nerds. Peter Jackson's The Return of the King had numerous differences from the third part of J.R.R. Tolkein's Lord of the Rings cycle, both trivial and significant. However, one omission had an impact on the way the viewer saw the changes to the story's main protagonists driven by their experiences. Some have speculated that this omission was a consequence of personal disputes between Jackson and Christopher Lee. Whatever the case may be, what is the name of the chapter from the novel whose events Jackson did not include in his epic film?

Word of caution on that is people still post about epic client issues in regards to Div 2. I saw one a month ago which is surprising considering the game has been out like 9 months

Interesting.

We don't even have to use Epic Client for Div 2. Once you buy the game - you can just link your account from Epic over to UPlay, do the download via UPlay, play, and be good to go. That's how it's worked for me - and I've been playing just fine.

Did they recently change add this link thing?
