Flying Greenlight Bundle 2 - $1.00

  • Coated (Desura)
  • Don't Move (Desura)
  • One Snack Please (Desura)
  • Startag (Desura)
  • We Slay Monsters (Desura)
  • WolfWars (Desura)
  • *Mystery Game*
Look at the thread title & look at this post again to make sure that I am at Steam thread... Does Flying actually come through with the Steam key, given that they won't pack up shop & leave like the rest of the lower tier bundle sites?

There's no rule against having multiple Steam accounts, and there's definitely no rule against multiple accounts on/via the same IP address.

Family/flatting/CGNAT are all reasons that there'd be multiple accounts showing from a single IP, so I doubt there's anything in place to limit or block idling on multiple accounts at once (provided you have multiple computers.)
I asked because allegedly, Steam greatly lowers your drop rate if you idle more than one game at a time. Since I'd technically be doing that, despite this happening in two different accounts, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I've idled two accounts on mine and my wifes computer at the same time, the drop rates weren't slowed or anything.

Didn't see this posted yet and figured I would put it here, Paypal is offering a $5 credit here by following some easy prompts and choosing the credit at the end. I just did it and took only a couple minutes. It says I should receive an email in the next week.

Wasn't sure where to ask this so I am asking here.  If I buy a used copy of Diablo II can the cd key be reused or is it even needed if I just want to play single player?  Is that a cd key that you register to a Battle net account?

If you look at the terms, it says it's a coupon that you can only use at certain retailers that accept paypal. I wouldn't call that "credit".

It does say that, but I think it's simply referring to any digital retailers that accept PayPal. In its "example" places that accept it, Steam is listed, so worst case scenario it still works on Steam.

I'm fairly certain it's just going to be $5 dropped into your PayPal account.

The key is needed to play single player, it works like an activation key.

If you want to play multiplayer, a used key is fine. But if someone else is using it at the same time as you, then it won't work online. If you register the key to your Battle.net account you'll get a Diablo II install program, with the game updated to its latest version, and with your install key integrated into it so you can just download and install. If it's already been registered, then the site will tell you.

Used keys tend to be 50/50 so be sure the person who sellls you the key has a good refund policy. I used to trade battle.net keys I got with my game lots, but nobody wants the older games anymore. :(

So uh, anyone know if you can idle for cards on two different accounts, using a shared IP address? I want to idle the rest of my cards on my main account but still have a few cards leftover on some of my alts (which I idle through a VM.) :whistle2:k

Well I need Diablo II and Lord of Destruction.

Hmmm. So if I don't want to take a chance then maybe I should just buy a new Battlechest from Amazon or some such? Diablo I should be fine as there is no key for that game from what I can tell?

Edited: I just set up a Battle net account and I see they still sell both of the above in digital format for $9.99 each. That would keep me clutter free.

I hope you're right, but I'm expecting something more like "save $5 on your next $50 purchase"

Diablo 1 does not need a key, but Blizzard doesn't sell that anymore. In fact they haven't even included it in the Battle Chest for years. It works erratically on Windows XP and up, and doesn't work on Intel Macs at all.

I used to sell these game sets for 3-4 TF2 keys but it's been getting harder and harder to find them in my area so you're better off buying a set off someone else. Blizzard sells the games at a discount once in a while, if you'd like to wait a bit.

I can wait. Just wanted to see what they were all about since I didn't get to play them the first time around. Thanks for the information!

nothigng good some are weaker than before some are just plain weak discount

... Metal Slug X just got a preorder announcement.

Now the question is, do I start a boycott DotEmu thread and get banned, or let stupid people lose their money because they continue to support a crappy company who makes ports that make NeoRageX's emulation look 100% accurate in comparison?

Well, I guess I'll just buy it in a bundle then like MS3.

So, not to take away from Sasquatch, but I decided to sign up for Extra Life this year too. I don't have a bazillion bundle keys to give out in order to incite donations, but I do have a decent number of keys squirreled away in a google doc that I'll be giving out during my 24h Twitch stream to anyone that donates. Anyway, would just appreciate if you might take a moment to look over my page and consider donating. I'll love you forever and ever, or at least until I need to ask you for another favor ^_^

This coupon definitely isn't an eBay coupon though. It gave an example list of all the different retailers that accept PayPal, including Steam and loads of others, and it didn't say that was the exhaustive list. Everything it said and showed points at it working everywhere that accepts PayPal.

Crossposting because nobody checks for new threads:  Wired 360 Controller for Windows - $25.00 @ Amazon.

Good deal.  Mine has survived for approximately 4 years of extreme abuse (1500+ hours of NBA2K alone) and still functions as it should.  Conversely, the controller that came with my PS3 died after just under 2 years and perhaps about 150 hours of use.  YMMV, obviously.  And consoles suck etc.

Man, I'd love to pick up a spare pad. I hate being broke.

Mind Zero gets greenlit in less than a week. Sure, Valve. Sure. You're not even trying to hide the fact that these results are fixed.

I need some info then... what makes them bad ports? I've got Metal Slug 3, and have enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind picking up X, but I'd like to know what DotEmu has done to the games that make them bad (or worse than some other version).

Quite honestly, I just want the Metal Slug Anthology... but I don't see that happening.

The sound. It's all screwed up and out of sync. Certain sound effects play at the wrong pitch.

I just saw that Batman: Arkham Knight has a new *official* release date, June 2nd 2015.

At least that frees up the busy release schedule of February a bit, but also likely pushes back any Nvidia promotions until the Spring as well. That is if in fact Nvidia decides to ride the rails of cross promoting another Batman title.

Just got this press release in my inbox today. I didn't realize that Batman: Arkham Knight has been pushed back all the way to June 2. That probably means they're going to be stingy with Origins sales this winter. Grrr.

Dotemu has always been shit when it comes to sound emulation. There are probably more problems as well but sound issues are the most immediately noticable for me. I got thier Irem Arcade Classics pack So I could play R-Type Leo and the sound will destroy your eardrums. It's that bad.

Is it really that surprising that a PC port of a Playstation Japanese RPG backed by a major publisher got greenlit so quickly? It's gotten great press at several websites this week, which all link to the game's Greenlight page.
Now compare that to Gurumin, a game that also got a lot of press and votes, which was developed by Nihon Falcom, and that already had a pretty good following thanks to its original PSP release stateside.

Yes, I'm suspicious as hell.

DotEmu has a history of making half-baked emulation packages and abandoning them without updates.

  • Irem Arcade Hits: Had audio and video problems, disabled stuff like Joy2Key because of "cheaters", and had several control / button remapping issues. A patch that would fix these and add the correct version of Undercover Cops was promised. It never materialized. (And apparently I'm entitled to a refund now.)
  • Raiden Legacy: Slow and laggy, especially on iOS. Lots of audio and music issues.
  • Metal Slug X: Incorrect pitched music and audio, laggy controls, the game tends to freeze for a second at random on several machines, including my own (this isn't caused by weak hardware, it happens even if you have a beefy PC) and the video and upscaling filters are crap. Oh and have I mentioned the horribly broken netplay that has never worked properly?

I wonder why companies keep going to them to port their games. They're awful. I used to think Terminal Reality (Metal Slug Anthology, SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, KOF The Orochi Saga US Edition), was bad, but at least they had the decency to package their crappy emulators with fairly awesome extras.

The free promo may have flagged Gurumin originally, which could have been why it took longer to get greenlit. That's my guess.

Even then, Mind Zero is much newer and more people may know about it due to that. While Gurumin is supposed to be a good game, it's pretty old. I honestly hadn't heard of it until I saw it on greenlight, while I knew of Mind Zero before then.

I used to sell these game sets for 3-4 TF2 keys but it's been getting harder and harder to find them in my area so you're better off buying a set off someone else. Blizzard sells the games at a discount once in a while, if you'd like to wait a bit.
I still have my old Diablo 1 disc from retail.

Any source ports or anything out there for modern OS's and hardware?

I have SH4: The Room from from retail, as well.

Makes you feel old-school, don't it? ;)
Old school, not so much, feeling old makes me feel old school well enough. Though, it does kinda makes me feel like a sucker for paying what I had to pay to get it now versus then.

Nope. You can't source port anything without the source. There are workarounds, but that's it.

I bought Silent Hill 4: The Room, sealed retail box. {Wheeeee.}

MysterD, is this how you feel?
I still remember finding Silent Hill 4 (PC) at a local Big Lots store for five bucks then leaving it there because I was an idiot.

I prefer SH1, 2 + 3 all over SH4.

SH1+2 are my favorite SH's, from what I've played.

I've still yet to play SH: Homecoming - and I've had that for a long time on Steam.
