My local Target still had 4-5 on the shelf. Mine is coming from Amazon though.
I ran by 3 targets this morning checking clearance drops, all 3 had 5-10 copies each. One of the stores had that spider wire theft thingy on them, just digging all into the cases, stupid fuckers

Just ordered one for pickup from my local Best Buy. I'm confident my Amazon order will go through, but I'm just playing it safe for now. If end up with two, then a friend will have a good xmas present.

There was a problem with my Amazon order, and customer service was unable to change my payment method. I was asked to cancel and re-order. I told them it was out of stock, and they told me to order it from a third party seller for $52.99. I said I wasn't paying an extra $23 each for both of my copies, and the rep left the chat! So I chatted another rep, and was given a $5 gift card, and was told they couldn't help me. Thankfully Newegg still has it in stock.
What time does TRU opens?
7 am this week, at least the one I checked out. They're open 6 am to 1 am next week...
So I went into the Culver City Toys R Us this morning, and upon asking if they have any copies of SMAS in stock, the clerk tells me, "some guy came in and bought all 20 copies we had left last night. We originally got in about 30 or so and he cleaned us out, but we should have more this afternoon."
Yeah, I ran into that exact explanation today when I went to a Toys R Us in the Chicago area. As much as it sucks missing out the the $25 credit, every other store I went to had plenty of copies though.
why are they too early?
Because it stays packed. Serioulsy the only time I ever see anyone in TRU is during the Holiday season.
So if this is a one shipment and done for Nintendo, then it will indeed be a limited item. Even if your store has 50 or more, think about the bigger picture of that. Once those are gone they're probably gone for good. The fact that so many speculated that it'd be limited and bought a bunch is no doubt helping supply to diminish quicker too. Assuming it is a one and done, you probably won't find them anywhere in a month or two.
Except other than Gamestop and Toys R Us (undoubtedly because they are giving you a $25 gift card for buying two, attracting hoarders), nobody is even close to sold out. My local Target and Best Buy literally sold a few copies yesterday as when I checked them today, they both had roughly the same amount of copies on the shelf. If nobody bought them on launch day, do you really think people are going to scoop them up weeks later when there is no hype or actual limited availability? Let's be honest, a significant percentage of purchases yesterday were by hoarders and people panicing that this was actually limited. Now that the hype is done and we all know it's everywhere in good quantities, there is no chance at all that this will be limited. Will it sell out eventually? Probably, but given how many people here and elsewhere bought two or more just in case, this will be in ready supply on Ebay near MSRP for many, many years to come. It really is time to close this thread. There is no deal (other than maybe TRU and Kmart) and there is no going to be any deal at MSRP as it will not go up in price anytime soon.

Why the hell do they still make spider wires and clam shells!?

Most stores seem to have the majority of their stock of big name games in the back. Once they sell through the on-shelf stock, they just resupply the same # of copies from the back room.

My copy from Amazon arrived today. It's a nice looking set, glad I bought it.

I'll be going to Walmart today so if they it I might get one more copy as a gift.

Clam shells I can understand. Prevents people from dirtying, scratching and creasing the boxes. I hate those spider wires though. >_

I went yesterday at 7:30 and realized that if I need to shop there next year, it's definitely the time to go. It was a ghost town.
$30 for what should be a $8 VC game -_-;
How do you figure? Buying them on the VC would cost you $21, and they aren't the updated SNES versions.

Super Mario Bros: $5
Super Mario Bros 2: $5
Super Mario Bros 3: $5
Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels: $6

I think his comment was to the effect that there is maybe $8 in play value here. I realize that Nintendo charges far more than that, but these are straight emulated roms of the SNES games with nothing done to improve or update them for the Wii.

He's talking about if Nintendo were ever to release Super Mario All-Stars (an SNES title) for $8 on the VC.
Waiting for Amazon to ship my order.
Yep. Amazon still hasn't shipped mine either. I'll give it until tomorrow to contact them. It has a scheduled date of the 15th so we'll see.
I got my amazon order today. I hadn't realized that I had applied a $10 promo to this order, but I'm glad I did. On another note some douche is selling this for $150 on amazon...*looks at sig* oh, wait...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...9&sr=8-1&seller=&colid=&condition=collectible
:lol::lol::lol:
FLOL, I'm just fishing and fucking around with that listing. I only threw that up because nobody had bothered listing it under "collectible" yet (meaning mine is the only listing...btw I only have my 1 amazon copy in hand, so if anyone was actually stupid enough to order this from me, I'd have to go grab a copy from Best Buy or Target to fulfill it). Once the collectible page gets filled with prices far below mine, which it undoubtedly will particularly now that you've pointed it out, I'll just cancel the listing. BTW what's even funnier is, the "used" tab has prices even higher than the lowest "new" (although the used listings are for brand new copies as well - people just use any angle to get the top listing on a tab).

I often throw listings for new stuff up on the "collectibles" tab because so few sellers use it that I almost always get that tab to myself and can just list crap at insane mark ups, hoping to catch some idiot suckers - soccer moms etc.

That might be a good thing. It'd suck hardcore to have to shake the wiimote everytime you wanted to use a suit's ability in SMB3.

fuck yeah!

I ordered it for $17.99 shipped from Warehouse Deals!
When they put them on CE's,LE's and the like its fucking stupid. A lot of people that buy these things are collectors, it makes me sick when I see then cranked down as tight as they go on the packages.
Yup, I hate seeing stores that does that as well. Just vote with your wallet and don't settle for a spidered copy.
If I try to pull the circular sticks off the top and bottom... does it ruin the box in the process?
Anyone?!
Anyone?!
Personally, I wouldn't. The circular adhesives are usually a hassle to remove without damaging the print. I'd just cut one or the other.
Anyone?!
knives were made for this purpose. don't remove the circular stickers.
But of course, I can't wait to bump those sounds effects in my car...

This is the only track you should be playing from any mario game in your car.. and it should be played while driving on the interstate.

My Best Buy order is ready for pickup. Gonna look around and see how many they have. Will go as soon as the Manchester - Arsenal game is over.

El Hoardo strikes again...but good luck cornering the market on a release I'd wager was upwards of 10 million copies.

Go to the one on La Cienega, I picked up 2 copies there last night for the $25 gc and they still had a bunch. At first I wasn't sure if it would work with the gift card, because it wasn't on the list they had printed and displayed at the game case but when he scanned it everything worked automatically.
How does the TrU offer work?
Purchase 1 and get a $5 gift card, purchase 2 and get $25 gift card. Buying 2 at once effectively makes the games about $19 each. The gift card can't be used until 6hrs after purchase though, so you can't buy in pairs and use the gift cards immediately. Buying in bulk at TRU isn't so much about hoarding/cornering the market since as long as you sell the extra copies at retail price you'll be coming out with a decent profit. That's not even counting if they raise in value.
Damn, what stops people from buying pairs and returning them?
What do you mean? I think they would subtract the value of the gift card you were given unless you return it unused. So you would spend 60 and then return them and they'd just give you 35 back if you keep the gift card. Not 100% sure though but that makes most sense to me.
If I try to pull the circular sticks off the top and bottom... does it ruin the box in the process?
I guess I got lucky... Mine came today from Amazon and one of the circle stickers was not sealed stuck to the box so I can just open it

Just checked, the receipt says refund price is 17.49.

I've been able to remove some circle stickers, no problems. Other circle stickers... problems. I would recommend heating up the sticker with a hair dryer to minimize your risk.

Ah, okay. I just thought they'd give you a card and people could get full price as refund while keeping the gift card. Thanks for checking.

This won't ruin the packaging....?

Received my Amazon copy today as well. Was just $25 credit because I got some sort of $5 bonus I didn't know about untill I ordered. Packaging is VERY nice, just split the seal kept out the All Stars case and left the other case sealed and filed it and the box in my gaming closet. I've already seen all the extras from the Japanese/European launch plus i'm gifting 2 of them so i'm sure i'll see everything first hand when my grubby lil niece and nephew rip theirs open. :)

Just got mine from Amazon; looks like it had a bumpy ride. Many discoloration marks on the sides of the box from rubbing against the cardboard I'm assuming and some slightly bent corners. Cool looking package though
This won't ruin the packaging....?
It shouldn't melt the packaging, if that's what you're saying. You're only gonna warm it up-- the adhesive specifically. Don't blowdry it until it turns black and don't hold the blow dryer too close to the box.

I did the same thing to my Odama box a long time ago. You should be be good if you don't over do it.
My copy just arrived in the mail from Amazon. Not bad since I used FSSS.
Guh...

Thanks a lot, Amazon. Prime sure was worth it! Mine's not in until tomorrow.
