The Road - Solid performance by Viggo Mortenson, but a lack of chemistry between and and his young co-star, Kodi Smit-McPhee, really hurt the film. What have should an extremely emotional and difficult relationship between child and father seemed rather muted. For a film that concentrates on the emotional impact of this unspecified Armageddon, I really didn't feel any real depth to it. Also, I loved the scenery and background work, but the film did not seem to have a very good pacing to it, languishing between scene to scene. I was expecting so much more based on what other had said of the film, other film reviewers, imdb, etc. I don't know, perhaps it was bit over-hyped at this point.
The Crazies - don't have time to right a snippet review, but it was very enjoyable. One of the better horror remakes from this past generation of horror films. Definitely on par with Snyder's Dawn of the day remake.
