Well... that was surprisingly surreal.
Is that based off the story of Bartleby the Scribe?
Eyes Without A Facehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053459/

Very good.
Glad to hear it. I'll probably pick it up sooner rather than later, since Halloween's coming up.
The Maltese Falcon
How was The Maltese Falcon? I have a copy of it, but I've yet to get around to watching it.

The Scrivener, yes. I'm torn on the movie, as it was the same plot as the short story, so it was boring as hell, but it was just so damn surreal that it was funny.

Maltese Falcon was good, though I think I liked other noir better. Worth watching though.

Dance of the Dead, high school kids getting killed off while trying to get to the prom and the nerds strike back with the psychotic gym coach, "Those bastards ate my dog" fucking Hilarious!
Dance of the Dead
Just saw this, too...it's much much better than I was expecting it to be. Imagine John Hughes making Shaun of the Dead. Good times. :applause:

Lost Boys 2 not as bad as War Games 2 but I still shut it off half way through. Hollywood just knows how to ruin favorite movies of my childhood.

Eagle Eye - sorta bad, rips other movies/games off, some too fast jump cuts during the action so you don't know what happened, rent it at best

Quarantine - worth a watch if you're a fan of zombie-like films (even though it's not technically a zombie flick). I am getting tired of this behind-a-camera approach to films though, that one-trick pony has run its course.

Since it is October I was in the mood for some Horror flicks.
My wife picked out two Stephen King flicks that I have seen before but I haven't seen them in 10+ years so I OK'd both.

Dolores Claiborne
- When I originally saw this I just thought this was too similar to Misery but this time I thought it was just a less creepy melodrama version of Misery. The ferry scene still creeps me out and makes me angry at the same time.

Children of the Corn
- This movie always creeps the living peeps out of me. Maybe because I come from a christian upbringing and live in Iowa.... Isaac is one creepy fellow.
A Boy and His Dog- 3/5
Aww, C'mon that film is a classic. I cant do anything But love it.

last movie i saw was "The Happening" which...was fucken awful. It stinks how Mark Whalberg gets signed on to these horrible movies.

RIP Marky Mark...we hardly knew ye'

Watched the new Indiana Jones movie... god that was aweful. Though it confirms my suspicions that IMDB ratings are way off. No way that piece of turd movie is in the 7's ... It didn't help that I had just watched the new south park episode.. I laughed when I saw the refrigerator scene.. "it just doesn't make sense"

I guess I just don't get it.

I thought it was mindless fun that didn't let the series down. I'm kind of shocked at the hostility.

perhaps.. it is the same formula as the previous indy's... but its one thing jumping out of a plane with a inflatable raft and another thing to get into a refrigerator and be thrown a mile from a nuclear blast.. (btw didn't old refrigerators use to lock so if u were inside u couldn't open it up? I remember an episode of Punky Brewster that involved something like that)

And its indy....not X-files...

So guys ripping out hearts, the holy grail granting immortality, and the ark of the covenant killing a bunch of people are ok, but aliens are suddenly too fantasy?

exactly..well said

W.-- was better than I expected. I'd give it a 7/10.

Hulk-the Ang Lee one. Also better than I expected from all the shitty reviews. Probably a 7.5/10. Look forward to Netflixing the new one and comparing.

The Happening
It was fucking horrid.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Funny and surprisingly honest.

Sordid Lives
Quite possibly the white-trashiest movie I've ever seen. Hysterical.
Religulous
Loved it. Saw it twice.

Already? Wow. I'm surprised I could find a theater that was playing it. I was rolling hard a couple of times.

Screw the aliens, the KGB isn't a good substitute for Nazis.

Mongol- I loved the film. It starts off slow, but it does a hell of a good job creating the man that would become the greatest conqueror of all time. I hope they can finish the other two movies in the planned trilogy. Great Cinematography, good acting, great action(although small) helped this movie become one of my favorites of this year. 5/5

Young Frankenstein- Gets better with every watching. Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks are geniuses. 5/5

The Happening- 1/5
Bad acting, horrible plot, and terrible pacing really sunk this film past the point of redemption.
Also, I can't stand Zoey Deschunnel.

The Hulk- 2/5
I just can buy Edward Norton as Bruce Banner. Tim Roth was laughable.
Ang Lee's was better.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan- 1/5
There were a couple of genuinely funny parts in this movie, but it ultimately fails on every level.

Casino 5/5 (third viewing)

I think if you compare it to good movies then , yeah, it sucked. But if you just remind yourself it is an Adam Sandler movie, you can enjoy it. I agree, some of it was definetely very low brow and cringe-worthy, but some of the parts that were funny had me laughing very hard. I absolutely loved the entire beginning fight.

Rented Eastern Promises and Arctic Tale, both HD-DVD, from Blockbuster Total Access. Eastern Promises was excellent, much better than I was expecting. Arctic Tale had its moments, but I could've done without it. Because it was shot using a lot of different formats, the picture quality was very uneven. We kept comparing it, unfavorably, to the Planet Earth HD-DVD set. Also, Queen Latifah is not Morgan Freeman.

Because my roommate had never seen it, (lucky bastard) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. He owes me something pretty substantial for forcing me to sit through that with him.

Why? I actually enjoy all the live action TMNT movies, especially number 2:D - Go Ninja, Go Ninja Go!

The first two are enjoyable, but the third one is fucking TERRIBLE.

Yeah, I can pretty much agree with this. It does seem like they ran out of ideas by the third one and deviated too far away from the original comics/source material. Regardless, I like the Third in a so-bad it's good mentality.:D
