Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

^Why is PB always better than Riddick... ?

Marley and Me - 8/10

I have to say I had no intentions of seeing this one, but my family has been dog/cat owners since I was born. It hit all of them hard since they could relate so easy. If you have been a dog/cat owner this movie is an easy must see. I gave it 8 because of Wilson and Aniston. Don't like either of them.

Because it's the best in the series by a wide margin.

Pornostar
Damien: Omen II
Master of the Flying Guillotine

I saw Adventureland. I really enjoyed it. It's not a jokey companion to Superbad, as the trailer suggests, but a more deliberately paced dramedy. It has very indie sensibilities. It's about a as close as I've seen to a Dazed and Confused from this decade, even with it's smaller character scope.

The Raleigh Grande started offering wine and beer... maybe that will fund a few new screens.

I really wanna see that when it comes out here. I really like Seth Rogen! Speaking of which...

Knocked Up

Really liked it :)
The scenes with Paul Rudd and Rogen were especially funny. The DVD menu music is awesome aswell lol...the song from the dance scene in the club.

Observe and Report - Funniest and edgiest humor in a film that I have seen in a long time. Loved it.

Let the Right One In - Wonderful film. Beautifully shot, perfectly paced, great atmosphere and tone to the film. Gunna buy it as soon as it is released with the correct subtitles on Blu-ray.

So the subtitles are messed up? Damn, and it was annoying enough that it defaulted to the English Dub and had to be manually switched.

I guess what happened is that when they released it on DVD and Blu-ray, they changed the subtitles and didn't use the ones from the theatrical release, which is retarted. However, I watched it on Nextfilx streaming and they had the correct subtitles. So no worries there. If you are thinking about buying it, wait a bit and look at the back of the case to say Subtitles (Theatrical Release).

Yeah, I won't buy it likely. I liked it a lot but I hardly buy anything these days since I own 300+ movies and seldom watch them and just watch stuff from Netflix.

Was more just amazed that they both defaulted to the dub on the BR and used the wrong subtitles.

Thanks for confirming that the Netflix instawatch streaming subtitles are correct. I received the DVD from them, but was extremely irritated by the fact that the DVD defaults to the dub, and then that the subtitles were wrong and the retard's version. Ever since then I've been hesistant to watch the movie, so I'm not sure whether I would like it or not so as to pick up a copy with the correct subtitles. I'll just do the instawatch for the movie now, and then decide on picking up a corrected copy of it at some later point.

Yeah, wish I'd known in advance I'd have just streamed it as well. Went with the BR as I always do disc for anything available in BR.
Drunken Master - Awesome
Invisible Target - Awesome
Fast and Furious (2nd time) - Still Awesome
Original Drunken Master (Drunken Master 2) or the americanized/dubbed "Legend of the Drunken Master" ?

I have seen the original, low quality subtitled Drunken Master 2 countless times and just didn't care for the dubbing of the theatrical "re-release."

Regardless, still the best Jackie Chan movie ever, with City Hunter a close second.

Bolt.

It was pretty cute, and I liked it, though I still wish I could have seen Chris Sanders' original version of the film, back when it was called American Dog. Supposedly, his version was fairly dark and edgy. Not to say that I'm one of those 'tards who think that all things should be dark and edgy, but his version did sound pretty neat.

At any rate, liked it.

The Spirit - 6/10

Wow, did that suck... it's one of those movies where you could watch the previews and be done with it. You'd think if one was going to put in that many hot chicks they'd show em off more. Sadly, (and I'm still not a fan) Jackson was pretty good and pretty funny in this.

Let the Right One In - 8/10

I'm not sure how to feel about this one. I think you all hyped it up a bit, don't get me wrong it was good. I didn't think it was THAT good though.

Watched Black Rain and had forgotten how good of a movie it was. First time I had seen it in ages and only have it because it was a freebie HD-DVD I got when they were sending those out left and right.

Last night saw Dr. Strangelove for the first time ever. While not my favorite Kubrick film, it was a good movie with a great performance(s) by Peter Sellers.

I went and saw Observe and Report last night. It was so out of control that it was hilarious. Seth Rogen totally made up for Pineapple Express. He completely throws himself into this role. This movie was also the first time that I actually thought Danny McBride was funny. It actually made me want to check out the TV series he does with the director of this movie.

You should do it, because Eastbound & Down is absolutely hilarious. The supporting characters are just as funny. Will Ferrell is in 2 or 3 episodes, Craig Robinson is in a few, and Andrew Daly is a regular. AWESOMENESS.

Jolly Roger Massacre at Cutters Cove - Terrible 2/5. Easy way to describe it is Jack Frost as a pirate but not funny....all the jokes fall flat which is sad. This movie could have been so $$$

the wrestler - 3/5 - just average. it has a good story, but with the hype it just felt like a "good" film.

The Uninvited (2009)

This was surprisingly decent. I expected it to be complete shit like The Unborn, but it wasn't at all. Sure, there's plotholes and bad acting, (which is to be expected with horror B-movies), but it's quite creepy and scary for a psychological horror. I knew from the impression from the trailers, and the way the first half of the movie played out that there was going to be a twist, but I didn't expect the actual twist at all, and in what's rare for a horror movie, it kind of made everything make sense.
Dog Soldiers
I think I've seen that. Scottish? Pretty good, but my friend wouldn't shut the fuck up about how one of the guys was in the cheez-rock band in GTA Vice City.

Waiting on my BD of The Wrestler.

The Worlds Fastest Indian - I've wanted to see this for awhile, not because it looked amazing, it just seemed like an interesting story. It delivered.

Yea, it was the scottish one. I think I liked Descent and Doomsday better though.
How was Tales From The Black Freighter Sneaky?
Decent enough. I actually found the "Under The Hood" documentary more interesting. They really put some effort into tying this whole universe together, and for that, I salute them.

La belle et la bête.

I am thoroughly convinced that these snooty old film critics only rate these things so highly for their nostalgic elements, because this movie was the worst, most painfully unpleasant thing I've ever had to sit through. Yeah, maybe this seemed great back in the day because it was a new and fresh medium, but I can't believe people still entertain the idea that this is actually good.

Happy Birthday To Me - 3/5 - fun mystery of "who did it" with some good 80's horror. a couple creative kills which are always nice.
Critters - 2/5 - hella boring but moves along enough so you aren't stabbing your eyes out. couple funny moments. Nothing extraordinary.
The Blob - 4/5 - a lot of fun to be had. Kevin Dillon's (Johnny Drama) hair is reason enough to watch the film
Motel Hell - 1/5 - Last 20minutes are cool with Farmer Vincent w/ a pighead and a chainsaw...too bad it takes almost 70minutes to get there. a painful 70minutes...

Chainsaw sword fight. Gears of War 2 totally ripped this movie off, heh.

I finally got around to watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars the other night. I had held off because the negative opinions I've read and my own skepticism. I must say, I was incredibly surprised how much I liked it. I admit, it's not really comparable to the live action movies because of the style(not just animation but pacing and dialogue) but I think I enjoyed it more than the prequels. I've set my DVR to record all the tv episodes now. Anyone that is a big Star Wars fan that was skeptical about this, I'd say give it a shot. I loved it.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade - Saw it again for my anime and war class. The film still holds up, though the last time I saw it was about 3-4 years ago. Really enjoyed it again. Very intriguing story, I'm pretty sure I wrote a lengthier/proper review of it when I saw it then, so I may look for it on CAG and post it here at some time.
Oooh, might wanna see this then! oh... 1/5? that bad?
the chainsaw, bodies on meat hooks n Farmer Vincent wearing a pigshead is cool...just it takes WAY too long to get there. the dualing chainsaws are fun, sadly its only 5minutes of the 102minute movie. Its not as bad as a Ulli Lommel film but its a slow build up with cool moments few and far between, Motel Hell is very hard to recommend.

The movie Vacancy was kinda cool. Would have been 10x better if the motel manager was a different (translation: non-shitty) actor.
