he was at the Predators/Blackhawks game last night.
Does that count as charity, since it helps the Preds in some small way help pay for Shea Weber (who they can't afford)?

Due to picture size spoilered.... oh and involving certain person who may or may not be at RAW tonight....

Yeah he looks OLD.

I can't believe they matched that offer for him, that's an insane amount of money.. just.. silly money

After seeing that picture I have no desire to see that man do another match. Ever. He is not Ric Flair. He can't need the money cause I am sure he did good for himself and the I am sure that the company takes good care of him. Just call it a day and walk away. PLEASE......

Dude grow his hair out the the Undertaker looks like Doc Brown from Back to the Future. Don't put him in the ring, lets remember the good times without tarnishing them with crappy matches.

There's a green skid mark in the ring. Haven't seen something like that since Bundy squashed Little Beaver.
Just realized the THQ thing probably means we'll never see that XBLA/PSN version of Wrestlefest. @#!*% .
I didn't even know about this.... I used to have a 4 player wrestlefest cabinet in the basement, I would have loved to be able to rig this up to the arcade controls....

After seeing that ughhhh Fandango promo, I have to ask something....

Is it possible to bury the shit out of someone any quicker without them even having a televised match?
Yes.

Such a shame. He was called Sideshow in the indies here in FL. (I should call him sideshow no matter what right? :p) I was looking forward to him blowing up but that never happened. Only people I saw wrestle down here that went Big was Kofi, Sheamus, and Dolph. Lower lever I've seen was Heath Slatter and he was doing a surfer gimmick. Of course Joe Hennig, but look how that turned out. :whistle2:(

Uh...when that guy came out with Swagger I said "OH SHIT UNCLE ZEBEKIAH" as a joke, but, uh...is that actually Mantell? Don't think I've seen a photo of him in years.

I think it is, the voixe matches. I recall him being on Colt's show a few months ago.
Yeah that's him, thought I'm not very familiar with his work to be perfectly honest.

That Undertaker pic brings back warm memories of Christmastime when grandma and grandpa would show up unexpectedly, walking in the front door with an armload of presents.

Pissed off Vietnam vet is a fucking awesome gimmick, I doubt anything decent will be done with it though. Just a weak attempt to push a few buttons.
They finally decide to give Swagger a gimmick, and now he's a racist. This should be awesome.
If Michael Hayes didn't come up with it, I'd be shocked  I did like Swagger's aggressive approach in his match.

Grandad, your boobs are showing.

Only thing I'm not sure about with Swagger is that they might have Cesaro drop the US title to Miz just to pass it to Swagger. Though it would be funny to have Cesaro and Swagger fight over who is the superior American.

Happy Swagger is throwing guys around like somebody his size should as well. Anything to stop Lawler/Cole from saying "You just don't realize how big this guy is".
Grandad, your boobs are showing.

This is better than what I had. All I could come up with was "His tits look fantastic in that shirt". Gay innuendo such as that would surely bring strongpimphand back to the thread, if only to post "Y'all gay!".

I'm not sure how much you follow politics, but it appears - rather shockingly, to me, given McMahon's ideology and the typical WWE demographic - that Zeb's gimmick is that he's a Tea Party guy.

They better be careful with his promos, there may be an unexpected face turn if he starts talking about Obama being a socialist when they cruise through Texas.

That said, I think it's an interesting take on American politics - a little too late, perhaps (or not) - and I'm curious to see where they go. I think they need to explain Swagger/Mantell's (what's his WWE last name?) relationship more than "he's Swagger's friend."

=-)

You know...if Miz's gimmick is now just "intolerable, pandering good guy that gets hilariously beaten by badass heels" I'm sort of ok with his continued employment.

Dirty Dutch Mantell was one of the best heels wayyyy back in the day. He could piss people off so bad that old ladies wanted to stab his ass. Modern day wannabe heels could really learn a thing or two from him, but sadly the WWE product is to watered down for it to really rub off.

James Taylor was a popular artist about the same time Mantell was a popular heel.

Just pointing out the flavor of the time period. Also, disco.

Maybe he was a great heel, but he's a shit booker, and the most prominent thing I recall from him is his dogshit writing in TNA for half a decade - and I know Dutch, I used to watch a number of indy/regional promotions growing up.

Kinda wish they debuted him on a show with Bradshaw on commentary because he would probably do a better job at relaying who he is.

Hell they could even tie it back to some of the shit JBL pulled when he was champion.

He worked as Sinn around the MI promotions back a few years ago, pretty nice guy

He was JBL's manager when JBL debuted as Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw. Thinking that's what you were going for here, but wasn't sure.

I was bored today and somehow I came up with the idea of a faction consisting of Mantel, JBL, Swagger, and the Blu brothers. Now I need to fantasy-book this in Fire Pro. Incoming feud against the New Nation, which includes R-Truth, Henry, Kofi, Cena, Shad Gaspard, and Titus O'Neil.

I hope they bring back Windham as The Stalker and they reveal he was in the shit with Zeb back in the 60's. They can have their stable feud with a debuting Rick Victor, who teams with the returning Charlie Haas.

Toss in a stable of Primo, Epico, Carlito, and Eric Escobar and Turf War v.2 is a go!

This was kind of strange to randomly stumble across. Buddy Rogers interviewed on Tuesday Night Titans. I know he was doing the precursor to Piper's Pit in the early 80's, but I thought he was already long gone by the time Hogan won the title. Assuming this may have been a thing where they wanted his kid to be introduced so they could try the David Sammartino thing with him, but I don't t think he ever actually did anything for the WWF.

Alfred pretending not to know what the NWA was was pretty stupid.

Take Two staying with Yukes via bloomberg.com - http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...e-over-development-of-wwe-games-from-thq.html

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. agreed to take over development and production of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. video games from bankrupt THQ Inc.

THQ’s agreement reached with the maker of the “Grand Theft Auto” video-game franchise, WWE and Yuke’s Co., a Japanese- based game-developer that was contracted by THQ to help produce the wrestling video games, will save the company millions by reducing claims against the bankrupt video-game maker, according to court documents filed yesterday.

“By working together to transition development of WWE games going forward the parties have minimized the harm to WWE and Yuke’s, which have, in turn, agreed to substantial reductions of their claims” against THQ, lawyers for the company said in court papers. The lawyers said without the agreement, WWE and Yuke’s claims “would certainly exceed $30 million and might exceed $60 million.”

THQ, the maker of the “Saints Row” and “Company of Heroes” video games, failed in its effort to survive the bankruptcy reorganization intact as individual titles and studios were gobbled up by competitors at an auction last month. Most of its assets were sold at the auction, bringing in about $72 million. The remaining assets at the company, including the “Darksiders” franchise, are worth about $29 million, according to THQ attorney Jeffrey C. Krause.

New Agreements

Under the accord, the WWE and Yuke’s contracts will be terminated and the companies will be allowed to enter into new agreements with Take-Two, which will hire THQ’s employees that work on the wrestling games, according to court documents.

The deal will also “eliminate very large damage claims” that would have otherwise materialized from terminating the contracts, according to the court filing.

WWE agreed to waive its pre-bankruptcy claims of about $45 million and any claims for annual royalty advances of about $7.5 million for the licensing contract that would have run through 2017. THQ will pay WWE $650,000 in royalty payments for the WWE games sold while under bankruptcy protection.

THQ owns about 14 percent of Yuke’s equity and has agreed to give the Japanese developer the 1,552,000 shares, about $4.5 million in value, in exchange for a release of Yuke’s pre- bankruptcy claims of about $15 million to $20 million. Yuke’s will also get a $250,000 royalty payment.

At this point, WM29 looks pretty underwhelming. I hope Taker stays sidelined if rumors of him being in rough shape are true. Give him more time to heal and if he's up to it, have him go out 20-1 next year to Ryback or someone who desperately needs the rub.

I've got this crazy idea that the main events for WM will be;

Rock Vs Punk Vs Cena - This way way they can stick with the "once in a lifetime" mantra.

Ziggler Vs Y2J for the World Title - How so? Have Ziggler cash in on ADR or TBS and win the belt, have Y2J win the elimination Chamber.

What other Marquee stuff could they do?

Team Hell No Vs Who? The tag division has been done to death. Maybe a fatal four-way with Rey / Cara, Rhode Scholars PTP? One last hurrah before they split them all up.

ADR, Orton, Henry, TBS, Ryback, Shield, Kofi, Truth, so much talent, but there's nothing built up. WM looks extremely weak this year.

blah. maybe new management will help them focus on a more polished product. Instead of trotting out a new half-assed gimmick each year and then immediately dismissing it the next game/

http://wwe-tv.com/wwe-nxt-season-5/...february-2013-hdtv-watch-online-download.html

Found this. Streaming, too.

I guess I'll have to give it a watch.

Saw someone mention that DDP will take Scott Hall under his wing like he did with Jake Roberts. DDP is just a straight-up good person. Jake getting clean is one of the feel-good stories of the year.

Edit: And fuck Yuke's. Ain't buying their shit.

Edit 2: Three minutes into NXT and this "Tony Dawson" guy is a knife in the ear. Sad to hear a tame Regal. Like what WWE did to Striker. Probably gonna skip around and condense this to ~10 minutes because it's depressing.
