We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

Cool surprise with Skyrim today. That being said, won't be buying anything this time unless I decide to finally go for Borderlands.

13 credited objectives so far. 9 coal and 5 coupons: 50 Valve, 50 Civ V (already own), 25 SEGA, 50 X-SuperBox, 50 Oddworld Exodus (already own). Would be nice to score a game just once.

Surely I'm not the only one that noticed Skyrim's consistently been in the top 5 sellers even with the holiday sale going on. For those of you that bit at $59.99 for yourself or as a gift, Valve just trolled you hard on Christmas Eve.
 
STeamGameSales doesnt seem to be working properly right now. Is there an alternative? Im thinking of biting of GTR Evolution, but wanted to see if its been cheaper in the past.

Risen is cheaper on amazon today....although I believe all the digital versions have stupid DRM... The retail version is best I think

Considering I was able to preorder it for like $50 and I put nearly 60 hours in it already. Trolling not found.

Bought it last month paid MSRP and don't regret it at all, Skyrim is well worth paying full price

Or you could buy the Humble Bundle, which includes Jamestown and a bunch of other cool games.

Course, you could always get Humble Bundle 4 and get that and other games.
 
They have a game with the perfect setting in Skyrim, put it on sale as a daily deal, and no winter achievement, but a somewhat niche flight sim like Wings of Prey has one? Disappointed.
 
Yes! The And Yet It Moves objective gave me the First Templars. No more coal streak. Is the game good? It's $15 dollars at 50% off right now.

Jamestown is great if you're a fan of shoot-'em-ups, but like two people already said, go for the HIB4. You'll get a number of really good games in that pack, Jamestown included.

Definitely in for Hard Reset today. Tried the demo last night and it was fun. The game is beautiful too on max settings.

Oh, I never meant to imply the value doesn't match the MSRP. I personally can't vouch for that since TES games are uninteresting to me, but nevermind that. I just don't like paying full price for any damn thing unless the hype meter hits critical mass for me.

But I did bite on Sonic CD for XBLA last night. 400 points? Hell, OK.

Welcome to the club. Jade Empire hasn't went on sale for over a year and a half. It was $5 during a sale last year and I passed on it. It hasn't went on sale a single time since.

Fair enough. I buy very few games when they first come out unless I can get a great deal on them. Skyrim has been worth its price thus far without any doubts though. Now that I think of it, I can't think of a single game that I bought when it first came out and didn't at least save 25%-33% off on. Can't even remember last game I bought for an actual MSRP lol.

Absolutely agree! I got 110 hours on amazing entertainment out of my $60. Well worth the money.

Also, if anyone is considering Risen. It appears to be at Amazon download for $5.99 today.

edit: Might want to hold off on Risen from Amazon. I'm finally getting around to activating my Amazon purchase from last month and just getting constant "activation errors". Apparently I'm not the only one.

Damn, that's a good discount on Skyrim, considering how well it's been selling without it. Picked it up at launch for $52, and no regrets. I've sunk so much time into it already.

Probably a few Tom Clancy games for me, and Hard Reset. Light day, hopefully.
 
Was hoping to see Fallout 3 on the deals. I've been waiting patiently for it. Was hoping it will just cost 5 dollars, which is my sweet spot of all the games out there.

I wonder if coupons are stackable say you get the Bethesda 50% off coupon and a 33% off Skyrim coupon, will you be able to use them both and get a 88% discount on Skyrim.... I highly doubt this will be possible but I would keep those coupons lying around just in case
