We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Did the AYiM achievement earlier today and got... Oblivion GOTY. I take back everything I said, this sale is awesome. Also traded some coal for Prototype, so that's pretty nice too.

Im holding off till the last second to buy skyrim. I wanna trade my valve complete 2011 pack among other things for it. So hard not to just buy it since I can easily afford it right now. AHHHHHHH valve hustling me.
 
I cannot, for the life of me, get the Rise of the Immortals achievement. I'm absolutely shit at this game and managed to only get 1 assist in the 20 minutes I played. Any tips?
 
Use the tree guy and play the 3vsAI map. Put only one point into your E which is the snare then lvl up rqw in that order of priority.

i did it in a 5v5 game...basically just stand near ur allies and spam the q, w, and e keys once you unlock them. make sure they lose a little health before healing them. it took me like 5 tries to get it, but i managed to.

Do what I did, swap the functions of the left and right keys to what it more logically would be, makes the whole game so much easier rather than having to remember to do the opposite of what is your instinct every time.

Just a note: I have a 50% off Bethesda coupon in my account. That trumps this 33% off Skyrim "deal" by about $10. ;) I already own Skyrim, so it's up for trade.

I'm trying everything, but just not getting it. I'm getting no assists despite attacking the enemies, but not killing them.

so to those having success trading coal on the steam forums, how did you go about it, look for posts asking or coal with their sell list, put a post up saying you had coal for trade and listed what you want, or what?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous in there with people spamming. I'm surprised that it's not modded at all, since it was an acheivement to join it. Can't imagine most people looking in that room would think "this is the type of community i'd like to be involved in"

Assists have a timer. If you tag an enemy and walk away, and then it takes half a minute for your team to kill them, you won't get any credit. I don't know what the assist timer is in Rise of the Immortals, but it's probably around 10 seconds. Burn the enemy down as low as possible, then hope that someone on your team is kind enough to kill them for you. In PvP, this shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, and just because I've seen other people raise this question in other places for this achievement, you don't get assists for helping your team kill creeps, only other players. Not sure if you already knew this or not, but it's worth mentioning just in case.

Hey! I think I'll get Hard Reset for five euros. Is it a heavy game? (requirements wise)

And, offtopic, could someone help me with this, I bought Dead Island from Amazon and I thought the CD-Key would register on Steam, but apparently it's only for northamericans. So I have no use for it. =/ I would like to sell it, or at least trade it because it's useless for me. Or at least direct me for a thread where I could try to deal it. Thanks.
 
I give up. I cannot fucking stand this. In the entire 2 hours I played, I managed 4 assists total across three separate games. I tried multiple strategies and just cannot get it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I die almost instantly upon battle.
 
Did you try using Icchor? I did it with him. Don't get too close to the enemys and use your two main powers. It didn't take long using that strategy for me.

That's strange. Using the second power (don't remember the name) on your allies and trying to hit the enemies sometimes should do it.
Did you also try the rifle guy?

I've only tried the tree guy and the demon type guy. I've been playing this match for over 40 minutes and I still only have 3 assists. =/

I'm done with this game. I'm not even gonna try to get this achievement anymore.
 
Crafted more coal... got 50% off Kane and Lynch 2. Not only does that game suck, but I already own it!

Oh well, I got better chances with crafting coal than I do winning the raffle at the end. But I will say this - I am so glad I listened to everyone saying to buy Hard Reset. Awesome game - can't believe that its indie.
 
I managed to win Hunted: The Demon's Forge from doing the CrimeCraft GangWars achievement. Merry X-mas everyone!

Also while doing the achievements, I've found out how awesome Jamestown is. Maybe it's my affinity for shmups, but it's a solid retro game and provides a good challenge.

its kinda unfair to ask people to get 10 assists in a MOBA lol I was just playing LoL and went 8/2/14 and that was with me being good at it.

Very nice. A good Christmas win. Hunted is a bit rough around the edges though so consider carefully before you unpack it. Can't imagine you offloading it for anything better though.

If you DO play it, get the Preorder DLC save from the Steam forums and use it before you get started. It has all the preorder packs unlocked on one save and they are ONLY distributed through one-use codes that are tied into your save file. It's really dumb. That save comes with a game completed, but you can start fresh on the second slot. Plus, the game has grindan such that you will need to play it multiple times to unlock all the level creator features so it's better for you if you build off that save with a load of gold already anyway.

And Jamestown is great.

I already gifted HL2 to a guy on my friends list who somehow had never played it. I did my duty as a charter member of the PC Gamer club. We gotta make sure everyone plays the classics.

I got it for 14 coal. The value of it keeps going own as the collectors amass piles of it. It seems to be hovering around $0.50 now; considering I saw people offering 17-18 for Prototype, I think I got a good deal. Sure as hell better than a coupon.

Cool thanks everyone. Seems like a touch interface would be nice for this game. The Ipad version now appears to have most (or all?) of the mini games + Zen Garden that the PC version has, right? I will probably watch for a sale on the Ipad version then.

The Xbox one does have coop+versus modes, but I don't know about using a controller with this game. XBLA has a demo, so I'll give that a try.
 
Anyone know how to get the Space Pirates and Zombies achievement?

I must say this game seems like they decided to make the space portion of Spore but did it right :D. Can't beat getting free too.

I love the ipad and the iphone versions but the 360 version is still pretty awesome. The graphics looks really, really good and it is actually close to my favorite controls for it just because all you have to do to gather sun is hit a trigger. You can leave plants in a square and be ready to plan once you have enough sun.
 
I'm interested in picking up Dawn Of War Platinum Edition while it's on sale. According to steamprices.com though, it's significantly cheaper for those paying in Euros. In fact, steamprices currently has it listed as the top rip-off (game with the largest disparity in price between regions). It's $14.99 here in the US, but people paying in Euros only have to pay 4.99 (which comes out to $6.52 in US currency).

So I was thinking about asking over on the steam group buy thread if somebody in Europe could gift it to me. I've never asked somebody out of my region to pick up a game for me, so I have two questions that hopefully somebody here can help me with.

1) If I send my payment to the guy buying it for me via paypal, do I just need to send the $6.52 and paypal will convert it into Euros for him? That is to say, I don't need to convert it somehow before sending it, do I? Or if paypal handles it, there isn't any extra charge for paypal converting it, is there?

2) Any problems with using a game bought in a different region? This is an older game, so probably not in this case. But generally speaking, are there ever any problems with games not working when not being played in the region that it was bought in?

I tried 5v5 a few times and couldn't get much more than 2-3 assists. Then I tried 3vE and I got like 11 on the first shot, I'd recommend trying that out.

LOL, I know what you mean. It doesn't help that it doesn't let you "quit" and join a new game until the last game you joined is finished (unless I'm an idiot and failed to realize how to do so). The first game I tried was 5 vs 5 PVP, I literally had 9 assists before the game ended. Second game I tried 3 vs 3 PVE and that was even worse.. my teammates would always run away from the immortals when the immortals were near death so it took much longer to get assists. In the end, I got 10 assists.. but it took about 2 hours.
 
Just got and yet it moves, but it was coal. Pretty cool game but I found it confusing trying to know what button spins in what direction cause once you do a 180 it feels reversed. Still cool.
 
I found Hard Reset to be competent but unremarkable in my 80 minutes of play tonight. The weapon upgrade system is nice and the game looks very nice. There just isn't much interesting to do. All the enemies I've seen look and act very similarly. $4.99 is probably a decent enough price to buy, but no more imo.
 
FINALLY got DEFCON to work; got a 25% off Bethesda title coupon. Other than Rage, I don't think I have any use for it since I'm not getting Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate isn't eligible since it comes out next year.

For those crashing while trying to do the DEFCON tutorial, someone at Steam posted that if you set your system clock back a couple of months, it will work; it does, BUT you can't do the Achievement unless you're back on current time. To get the achievement, instead of setting your city count to 5 like the wiki suggests, max it out at 50 cities; that worked for me on my Lion-running MacBook Pro when 5 cities crashed while counting down.

Oh my god, I know! The matches last like 45 minutes too.
 
I have to admit, I found the CrimeCraft achievement to be really fun ... I would actually play that game as a standalone product ... just chucking snowball grenades and rolling around ... yeah, I guess my tastes are on the simplistic side tonight ;)
 
I actually love the crap out of AYIM, and had already finished it, so it took me about 13 seconds to get the achievement. Of course, I got coal. What bugs me more tho, is that the console achievements only got ported over to Steam recently, so I feel compelled to work on those too...
