Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Link? I have to see this.
Yeah after reading about War Z, it's definitely one to skip. There is more info here:

About half way down the page it shows screenshots from the developers and how they are ALL staged...
I like that anticheat system detailed in that biased site.

Oh, unless you mean a link to the fact that the new Sacred stuff will use Steamworks, hmmm, one second...

http://www.sacred-world.com/

Bottom of the Citadel page has Steam logo. Sacred 3 page isn't up but they're both published by Deep Silver who has taken to using Steamworks (Dead Island, Risen 2).
ThankYou! Finally I can have my Sacred 2! Thanks for the info!

Okay, so most of the vitriol out there about The WarZ is due to people who hate the game because it's a rip off of DayZ and they lied about that. That much is true. When DayZ came out, the WarZ guys came out doing interviews stating the game had been in development for years before DayZ and advertising a million and one features for it.

Now that it's out, it's clear and they've admitted as much in a roundabout way, that they made this in response to the DayZ craze. Shitty name, but there's like a million zombie games coming out now.

Having played it, I like the game for what it is. Essentially, War Inc. modded to be a DayZ clone. It's fun for a survival mmo with no purpose or objective. Still needs a ton of work done to it and I hope they do keep working on it. I have seen no issues with it personally in banning, etc.

Wish I would have waited to buy it on Steam. I paid $15 on BF but no Steam key or guest passes, but I understand they probably need the money so they are trying to hook as many people as soon as possible.

Yeah, I read about that elsewhere. I bought it on Gamersgate UK a little while back for $5 but if it really is complete with the expansion and everything and readily available in the US region I will buy it again if comes to Steam.

When it goes on sale, of course.
It's pretty fun. The DRM could suck for you though. I think you have to always be online. Although I remember something about it being patched out... I'm not sure, but you might want to look into that before you buy.

The game itself is a pretty decent romp. I had fun with it for a few hours, anyway.
The always-online got patched out, although I had a hell of a time getting Uplay to install that patch. I had to uninstall Uplay 2 and let the game install Uplay 1, then it patched. Watch out, uninstalling Uplay deletes all your Ubisoft saves so back them up.

Game looks awesome, son was bemoaning the recent adjustments of more zombies, less food, but he seems to having a good time with it. So much so he used his own money to buy his friend a license.
How is Splinter Cell: Conviction?
Nowhere as great as SC: Chaos Theory.
Chaos Theory's my favorite of those SC games by a freaking MILE easily.

While I did like Conviction - it's still a solid game and still is actually good - it's probably one of the lower titles in the SC franchise for me.
It's right down there along-side w/ Double Agent - DA could've been great, if you remove the long-winded terrorist cell missions (i.e. the boring 15 min+ bomb-making missions and also the lame stealth training).
I really miss hiding bodies and all the stealthy stuff you could do in previous SC games - Conviction had none of that.
Conviction also had very little emphasis on you shooting lights out, too - ugh.
Though, I did really like the new cinematic "mark & execute" kills in Conviction.

I'll admit - I'm happy to see SC: Blacklist is going to bring some of that stealthy stuff back, from its previews.

New Borderlands 2 shift key. WT5TB-XC5ZC-CX3T3-BBT3B-B35WB

I guess it's in honor of Borderlands 2 winning G4's game of the year. Supposedly that code will give you 5 keys. No idea how long it's good for.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Severose.

I didn't think Capcom could fuck up Street Fighter X Megaman. They found a way. No fucking password or save points. I mean every other Megaman game to date has a goddamn save feature either by passwords or saved games.

Well my night is ruined because I don't want to spend my whole night just playing fucking this and then stopping because I have to get to bed.

I'm out of luck in another way - For me, the game freezes whenever I reach a boss.

Is this where I throw in the fuck?

If you're being serious, then the answer is because Capcom didn't make this game.

I think I buck the trend in that I prefer RE4 and REC:VX most out of the series. I'm not sure if I'll like RE6 or not (I couldn't stand RE5). Eh, I'll probably give it a go during the summer sale or once it hits my price point.

Given that its capcom, you might be waiting longer than the summer sale depending on your price point.

Isn't RE4 considered the high water mark for the series though? I don't think liking what are arguably considered the 2 best games in the franchise is bucking the trend.
Tempted by amazons scribblenaut deal, but i think steam will hit at least that low.
I think that games looks kind of interesting but am I correct in that its a game for creative individuals? I am not creative at all so that's why I ask.

Well, I guess I mean that seemingly starting with RE4, the franchise started changing from it's "survival horror-ish" roots to something more action based. Then with RE5 it really just became a standard action shooter. I liked RE4, but Veronica was by far my favorite mostly because of the atmosphere, environment and story.

I totally caved and bought NiGHTS. I haven't played this game in so long and I clearly have no idea what the hell I am doing but it is the most fun I have had not knowing what the hell I was doing in a long time.

It is the game that will make you ask why you can't be a flying purple jester in every game or why every boss can't be a fat bouncy weeble wobble opera singer bunny.

There's two modes one is the new HD one and the other is the old original Saturn style with the 4:3 aspect ratio. The latter is I guess nice to have for nostalgia and completion's sake but new HD version is where it's at.

I'll be shocked if it actually gets a US release -- the Ice & Blood expansion was never available here. I actually imported Ice & Blood from the UK and had to do some kind of registry tweak to make it compatible with the US version of Sacred 2.

If it does appear in the US, then that'll be the second game I imported from the UK that suddenly appeared on Steam in the past few weeks (A New Beginning was the other).

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but I stumbled upon yet another site focusing on serving daily deals to us on a platter, The Broke PC Gamer (lol @ the controller for the main site image). Basically, the front page is dedicated to the daily deals for the day upon many different sites. Personally, I find it a lot better than anything else I've encountered, even with the ugliness. Just thought I'd mention it for anyone else who might favor it like I do.

EDIT: I bring this delight to your front door:
RELOAD is the ultimate target shooting game. Participate in shooting drills that are used by elite military, law enforcement, or competition shooters. Shoot weapons ranging from popular sports shooting guns all the way up to heavy military weapons. Your targets are made of paper, wood, clay, and metal, and are never living things.
I'd say it is, but maybe not in the way your thinking. You might wanna check out some gameplay on youtube. If you don't mind him or like him, Total Biscuit did a WTF is about it.

NiGHTS is a great game and the music are nice too. I still have memories of playing the christmas version with this analog controller made specifically for that game.

That controller looks awful to use. At least it doesn't have the razor blade corners of the Nintendo controller.

Good looks!
