Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Why is Batman AA GOTY region locked? I can't see it in my Steam Store here in South America T_T. If someone else buy it for me will I be able to play?

And you should grab TL2 at this price, so far i have more than 50 hours on it and still enjoying it, it's a fantastic game and my candidate for the GOTY. Sonic Generations it's awesome!
If you haven't played it and don't buy Arkham City GotY for 7.50... I don't even know what to say.
LOL
Never played it, never will. Didn't like the demo for AA so I didn't buy it or AC. Also couldn't give two shits about batman. Haven't even bothered to see the last movie. Probably won't ever see it.

And if anyone is interested in Orcs Must Die 2 for $5, let me know. I'd like to get the 2-pack for $9.99 and save some money.

Edit: Gone

Okay, so here is the thing. I bought AC vanilla a few months ago (non steam version) so is it worth buying AC GOTY on Steam for $7.50. I know I will get a couple of pieces of DLC extra for the money, but does it have any Steam achievements or anything else to make it worth the purchase, or should I stick to the vanilla non steam version of AC?
Yes
I knew I could buy all of the DLC separate for 7.95, but I wasn't sure if when you bought the GOTY it would be for everything or I could gift the base game.

The Steam version of Arkham City does have Steam achievements. Most of the DLC is just the challenge levels or the costumes. Harley Quinn's Revenge is the only story-based DLC, though I've heard it's fairly short.

If you buy the GotY, you're going to get the full game with all the DLC included. There will be nothing to gift separately.
I own torchlight but really couldn't get into it. Is 2 a lot better? The first one felt very dated and repetitive to me.
Maybe it's me, but I felt like Torchlight II started off faster and better than the first one. I was getting great loot drops, enemies were immediately more varied, I ran into bosses faster, more "mini quests", the character skills seemed more varied, etc.

Relative to Diablo III, the loot in TLII was generally better, as if I had items that made more of a difference early on. I think having the pet feature in the TL games helps: yes, you get a lot of junk but it's SO easy to sell mid-game because you just give the junk to your pet to auto-sell back in town as you continue on.

I'll be honest and say right now that the story threads are better than the original TL, but even then I'm skipping over text all the time. I honestly couldn't care less because this game is really all about the action, looting, skilling (heh), and feeling awesome rather than trying to be Baldurs Gate Lite story-wise.

So, to answer your original question, I'd say that if you aren't a fan of the classic style of this kind of game, there might not be something that'll make you click that will immediately win you over. I will say that the price for it right now is still great and worth giving a try at least. I'm personally a fan of these kinds of games (loved Titan Quest Gold, Sacred Gold, Shadowflare, the Baldurs Gate games on PS2/NGC/GBA, Shining Soul II, Phantasy Star Online, the Amaze Lord of the Rings games on the GBA, and many more).
And there's TL2 for $10 or $7.5 in a four-pack. Also in before that Boba Fett guy goes BAWWWWW I want it for $5.
I do want it at $5, so I'll be waiting. ;)
I'm going to pick up Orcs Must Die 2. Should I get the first one as well or are they too similar?
They're pretty much the same game. OMD1 has different levels (that you can play in OMD2 if you also own OMD1) but you can live without those, imo.
I do want it at $5, so I'll be waiting. ;)
I know, breh, that $5 extra can get you a WoW pet!

Biggest day of the sale for me, as I'm sure it is for many others:

- TL2 and Orcs Must Die 2 Complete both finally hit my price
- Snapped up some Quantum Conundrum DLC. Haven't played the base game yet and why not get the DLC for less than the price of a beverage?

I remain on the fence regarding Mark of the Ninja. I know I want it but do I chance no sale price for the Winter Sale? Seems likely that it would at worst return for the same price.
I have my finger on the Hotline Miami trigger...but its going to be in a bundle...it almost was apparently yesterday too. Just wait.....stand fast and you will be rewarded
Hotline Miami has been getting a lot of love in this thread. I can see why, but I also wish I'd just picked it up for half of what I'd paid.

It's quirky, at times riveting, and it generates a lot of tense moments. But I think I'm just about over the whole "retro" feel that seems to be popular in Indie games these days. It's become trite and not at all hip in my opinion. Use a real font instead of that blocky crap. Spend more than a minute painting those backgrounds. I recognize that it's being used as a "style", but it just feels more like a shortcut than anything.

The gameplay is good - kind of like a strategic game of Loaded. But so far it's fairly one dimensional.

I recommend buying it, but in a bundle or at $2.50 or less.

I'm finally going to be making another purchase from this sale. I bought KoTOR II when it was a flash sale on day 1, and today I'll be getting both Orcs Must Die 2 and Torchlight 2.
They're pretty much the same game. OMD1 has different levels (that you can play in OMD2 if you also own OMD1) but you can live without those, imo.
Ok, thanks. I think I'll get my fill with just 2 then.

same for me. picked up OMD2 and QC DLC. Mark of the ninja and TL2 I won't have time to play soon so gonna wait for winter sale

I don't regret preordering OMD2 in a two pack bundle with a 20% preorder discount but man... when these sales roll around~ Especially since it would cost me another $4 for the DLC (which I'm probably just going to skip for now).

Fortunately TL2 and OMD2 are the only two games I've preordered in the last... well... ever.

I think I will get TL2. Sonic Generations is a lot of fun and looks amazing. A fellow CAG member recommended it to me and I love it. I love the mix of classic Sonic and new Sonic. Very fun.

Looking for two spots in a Torchlight 2 bundle, pm me or add rallykupo on Steam. Thanks!

Edit: Found a group.

Gonna also say that Sonic Generations is indeed awesome. I've been lukewarm on the series in general (though I loved the flawed Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast and beat tje original Japanese version thoroughly). SG is really refreshing and fun and I totally recommend it. Do play it with an Xbox 360 controller though.

Torchlight II will undoubtedly be 50% again during the winter sale, right? If so, I can wait seeing as I haven't beaten the first game yet.
Metro 2033 $4.99
Bioshock 2 $4.99
Doom 3 BFG $14.99 (which apparently includes Doom 1 and 2, which I was unaware of)

Hah!/Blah!
Does anyone know if the BFG edition is a separate entry in the Library (separate game) if you already own Doom 3, or does it overwrite it? I ask because the BFG edition can't use mods, while the vanilla version can, and I don't want to lose the ability to mod it. Anyone?
Yes they do give individual codes for ALL their bundles and you're free to sell or trade them as you please.
Not always true anymore. There had been noise in thread about one of the Paradox bundles (w/Majesty) having a single key. Tony chimed it and said it had something to do with how Majesty Gold HD was keyed on steam, iirc.
LOL

You really don't need to be a Batman fan at all to like these. I'm not a Batman fan. The last Batman Movie I saw was early/mid 90s. I don't read comic books. But I thought both AA and AC were fantastic brawlers with unique gameplay (even bothered to beat AC in NG+).
Torchlight II will undoubtedly be 50% again during the winter sale, right? If so, I can wait seeing as I haven't beaten the first game yet.
Torchlight 1 didn't grab me much (though I didn't give it a fair chance). Torchlight 2 is kinda like the grandchild of Diablo 2. It's fresh and different and yet has some of the familiar comforts (like the way loot explodes). I see nothing wrong with just skipping straight ahead to TL2, by all accounts it's a better game.

It figures; I bought vanilla Arkham City from a CAG for $6 a couple months ago and now the whole GOTY is $7.50. I don't even see an option to buy the DLC a la carte.

Yeah there really isn't any reason to play TL1 at this point.
Definitely picking up OMD2, question is the dlc worth the extra $2.50? I don't plan on playing much co-op. Any help is appreciated.
Each one adds about three maps, new traps/items, and enemy types. I'd say it's definitely worth it if you've never played as it's a more seamless experience. That said, if you can find someone to split a two-pack with the Complete Edition (with all DLC) is only $5 total.

If you go to the page for the vanilla Arkham City then you will see the option to buy each DLC for 75% off.

Seriously. Make it 51 :applause:

Thanks for the reply, Mooby. So anyone wanna go in for a 2 pack? I'll kick in $6 so you only have to pay $4. PM if interested.

I am using a keyboard playing SG. It is not bad for classic Sonic levels, but a little bit of a pain when you play modern Sonic. It is playable though.

Ugh, here I was all ready to pass on buying it after reading Tsel's post and then you had to make this post.

Is the reason TL2 is so much better the multiplayer or is it generally just a better game. I'm not much of a multiplayer fan, so if that is the main reason I can live with TL for now.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/57400/
Thanks. When I searched, it showed the GOTY. Sigh. It'd be way too much to pick up the DLC I want. I knew I shouldn't have bought it when I did since it was destined to lay around in the backlog forever. My loss.
