Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.
Seeing so many great FPS is bittersweet. To this day, they give me a bit of motion sickness. Only games that haven't done that are Quake II and all the Halo games. I can't figure out why those games have no effect on me. Borderlands 2 looks so fun. But 20 mins in I'd know I'd start getting sweaty.
Supposedly the FOV slider should be a big help; my roommate couldn't play the first game more than 90 minutes or so without feeling nauseous, but this one we were able to play much longer.

I want it, but damn, that is way too expensive for my liking. Even at 75%, I'd have to pass.

Just wait for the Pendolu Adventure Pack to go on sale as a deal during the Holiday Sale, it goes for $14.99.

I played it on XBLA and liked it quite a bit despite not usually enjoying other celebrated games in the genre. I don't know if that means it's good or bad.
Stop stop STOP the thread.

There's people here who haven't seen The Warriors. The thread can't continue until they have done.

Go get yourself a beer, get comfortable, and get ready for one hell of a good film. Despite being (thirty?) years old, it holds up very well, and the soundtrack kicks arse.

Do it.
I'm BigSpoonyBard, and I approve this message

For the extra cool, there's a lovely homage to The Warriors in the super-awesome Korean flick City of Violence

sure do, picked up a free copy of Binary Domain after trading in all the free stuff they've given me. ( already had them on Steam before anyway)

I'd never heard of this film, but I've just found a copy for 97p on Amazon. Oh my.

At that price, you should get a dozen copies and share them with your friends. It's one of my go-to movies when I just feel like watching something cool and action-y.
Thanks for the heads up. Was it that price last year? I don't know how I would've missed that.
It was $14.99 both as a daily in the summer sale and a weekend deal last month. Not bad for all three Runaway games, The Next BIG Thing, and Yesterday.
Just wait for the Pendolu Adventure Pack to go on sale as a deal during the Holiday Sale, it goes for $14.99.
So that's how much it was. Thanks for remembering. Hopefully it'll be that price again and I'll pick it up then.

Agreed. I'm loving the Warriors love in this thread today. :applause:

I think I own The Warriors on HDDVD but have never seen it. However windows7 doesn't seem to detect any HDDVD that goes in my combo drive so until I find a fix for that I won't be able to see it.
Surprised the Warriors game didn't get any love here. Is it because it never came to PC?
It was gloriously brutal. I think I played the game first and then immediately rented the film. But I can't remember if the game was faithful or wildly divergent.

I'm disappointed that those who've never seen thus could not appreciate the extreme wittiness of my Backloggery update after I beat Borderlands 2. Le sigh.

The game was a precursor, and the end of it was where you finally got into the movie parts. One of the few Xbox games I'm disappointed I never finished.
I think I'm so broke, I'll only buy games during the summer sale and winter sale pretty soon. Take that Romney/Obama!
You think you're broke now. Wait until you see the sale and then you make up the cheap prices by buying in quantity more than you would've saved. That's why CAG has 3:1 buying vs actually playing ratio.
I knew there were more Sony PlayStations titles I missed -ugh!

I loved the old MK's - MK1, 2, 3, UMK3, and even MK4.

Black & White 1 was pretty good...for the first 3 islands. After that, got BORED.
Black & White 2 was also pretty good.
Never finished either of them, actually.

I was born in 1980, hehe.
I definitely know what it is, I just don't think I've seen it, for some reason...
There are even more than that. Sony has some fine first party titles.

I was also a big fan of the old MKs and MK 9 definitely lives up to those. It's like the old games with a major facelift!

I think I got past at least the first three islands. Any idea how much game time that would have been on average?

 I know how that goes sometimes certain items of pop culture just fall through the cracks. Definitely, recommend you check it out sooner than later, ya dig?

After about 10 hours of both B&W1, that was the end for me....
That was around the time, I hit the 3rd island...and eventually grew bored.

I'm...not sure on B&W2. I know I preferred B&W2 over B&W1. B&W1 throws too many of its gameplay elements too early, while B&W2 trickles them out as you go along to keep the game more interesting.
Plus, B&W2 is more focused - and has some upgrading RPG-like elements.
Also, what made B&W2 more interesting - you have more than just trying to convert those to believe in you (good route)...
...In B&W2, you can go more evil - you can also choose to actually wage a full-blown war on other areas & civilizations (evil route).
Yeah, I probably should watch that someday.
Yes, you should. :)
It is still one of my favorite movies. I just remember seeing the baseball furies and how cool they looked. I even perfected that flip he does with the bat right before the fight with Ajax started. :D

Tell me this isn't a great fight scene even though 30+years old!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL0ipXUD-uU
Awesome, the Furies were so iconic. The first time you see them you will then always recognize them.

A group of dudes in Yankee pinstripes, cleats, carrying baseball bats, with their faces painted = iconic.

I love that scene. So, many memorable scenes in that movie.

"Now, look what we have here before us. We got the Saracens sitting next to the Jones Street Boys. We've got the Moonrunners right by the Van Cortlandt Rangers. Nobody is wasting nobody. That... is a miracle. And miracles is the way things ought to be."

"You're standing right now with nine delegates from 100 gangs. And there's over a hundred more. That's 20,000 hardcore members. Forty-thousand, counting affiliates, and twenty-thousand more, not organized, but ready to fight: 60,000 soldiers! Now, there ain't but 20,000 police in the whole town. Can you dig it? "

I don't remember how far I got on B&W1. I remember drawing a ton of pentagrams in fights. And I could not teach the damn thing to save people drowning. I eventually got bored, and got as evil as I could. Then my save got corrupt or bugged. I think my alignment got reset, but all the evil buildings and effects remained.
