We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

KotOR 2 at 75% is probably Steam's apology for trolling most of us with that damn Jade Empire fiasco.

Decided to take the plunge on Grimrock since I'm a huge RPG fan (loved Stonekeep back in the day). Not much to lose at 75% off, even if I do have 52 other games in front of it. I also can't see it getting much cheaper than $3.75 for at least a year. I say that now and it'll probably be $2.50 during the Christmas sale :)

This maybe a fluke, or bad memory on my part. I tried activating that 75% discount code for Trine Collection through "activate a product on steam." I got a message stating it worked, went to check my inventory and had the Frozenbyte Collection in there (which includes Shadow Grounds, Trine, Trine 2, and Trine 2 DLC). Had anyone else get this, or did I forget even having that Frozenbyte Collection?
 
Going through my game library to delete space for XCOM and Planetside 2... I realized that I own games that I didn't even know I owned.

Yea, going to pass on pretty much everything in this steam sale unless it's 75% off or $5 or less.

This may be a dumb question but are there any "special sales" right now on Steam aside from the "Today's Deals", which look like they're running for 48 hours since posting and the "Flash Deals", which look like they're running 10-15 hours depending on the game? I know every game is on sale at least 33% from the looks of it; just want to make sure I'm not missing anything since I usually wait to buy anything that I might would buy at it's "regular" discount to see if it goes on a "special" deal. Thanks. :)

I put 175 hours into it. Buy the complete if you like the genre. It is simpler than the more hardcore roguelikes like Nethack though.

Does the mod include controller support? this game was on consoles and wondering if on pc it is updated. Many of these older games I pass on because of no dev support since their so old.

I'm thinking that the 48 hours will include the rollover time from the deals tomorrow.
 
Civilization 5: Gods and Kings is 50% off. Think it'll drop to 75%? I've been staring at it since the summer sale, I think.

Do the smart thing, check back frequently and see if it goes onto a daily sale or flash sale. Then if not buy it on the last day of the sale.

Or of course, get it on Amazon like the above poster said at 75% off. I don't pay attention enough to know prices elsewhere.

Unless I have Sigs disabled, there's nothing in your signature.

Rule of thumb is to purchase only/mainly during Flash Sales, if I'm correct?

BEST PRACTICE FOR STEAM SALES: Use your wishlist or other services to track your most wanted game prices. ONLY purchase on Daily Deals, Flash Sales.

You may get luckier with a flash sale price over a daily deal, but that's a risk only you can decide.

Save all other purchases until the last day. The last day is usually a repeat of the most popular sales.

Also, there is a Winter Sale only one month away. Not low enough now? It may be in four weeks. Enjoy the games you get and wait for the others.

Oh and use some restraint. I now have 300+ games in my steam library. Yea, I only paid maybe a $5 for bundles of them, but cmon... even now I'm like "WTF?"

FTL, Hotline Miami, Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored are on my watch list, but I doubt any of them get into my "buy" zone.
