Ill have some of what Goodwill was smoking today. NES Action Set- $80. didnt even look in the box. said system, controller, gun, and duckhunt game. one on ebay ended at $40 today

today i found:

Cheat code explostion
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete official strategy guide
+ another random paperback
= all for $0.25

Hehehe, just found this thread. It's a good read so far and makes me recall my favorite thrift store find ever at a Family Thrift Store in Raytown, MO. A Lunar Ghaleon puppet new in box for $2.99. They had a second one too and I still hate myself for not picking it up...

Nice find for $19 especially as it's out of print. Got it at the St. Vincent De Paul in Los Angeles. This place can be a treasure trove if you hit it at the right time.

Picked this stuff up at Goodwill,

Xbox/PS2/Gamecube combo Joystick - $5
Gamecube Wavebird - $1

I read that there are allot of problems with the joystick, but it works perfectly fine now.....you can mod it anyways, which is what I'll probably do (eventually).

Yeah, no sensor :(

Anyways, I just went to GW again and while there was nothing really that good, here's what I picked up.

There pricing continues to confuse me.
This boxed copy of Warcraft 3 was only $1, but every other PC game such as Duke Nukem, Sonic, Everquest, pikachews great adventures was $3 or more, and none of the other games were boxed...OK!

The NES games were priced at 50 cents each for some reason, which is the lowest they have ever been - and the reason why I bought them. (last month all there NES games were $2-3...and the month before that they were all $1 max)

SegaCD games were $2.99, and the game without the cover is Racing Aces.

Good pickup on the joystick. I have two of these, and they both work great. Never had any issues with either.

Yesterday at Goodwill:

Atari 2600 System with all hookups, 2 controllers, 2 paddles, video touch pad
Atari Combat
Atari Combat
Atari Star Raiders
Atari Star Raiders
Atari Backgammon
Atari Video Olympics
Atari Football
Atari Casino
Atari Asteroids
Atari Atlantis

Total = $30. It was listed as a bundle for all of it. Seemed like a good deal for me, Atari's are super hard to come by here. The console and games are both in EXCELLENT condition, no sun wear on the cartridges, no scratches or knicks or anything on the console. Cleaned off the dust and it looks amazing!

N64 Mario Kart 64 = $3
SNES Super Mario World = $2

Total = $35

I think I did pretty darn good :p. This store gets A LOT of traffic, every time I go there they have new stuff. Most of their stuff is overpriced (compared to other thrifts) as they charge $3 per game (the SMW didn't have a tag on it... so the lady gave me $1 off lol) and stuff. But the Atari was a great deal for me personally.

This store also has a lot of PC games... multiple copies of Battlefield, BF:MC, etc. Any know what ones are valuable?

I went to the Unique Thrift near me that normally doesn't have video games, but lo and behold they had a shopping cart full of Sega CD, 32x and a few Genesis games. I never see these in the wild and in such great condition! Someone must have just off loaded their collection. Payed about $1.50 per game. Highlights are Night Trap, Knuckles Chaotix, Dark Wizard, and Comix Zone w/ cd. Pretty good find if I might say so.;)

Super Nintendo, 2 controllers, rf adapter, power cable-$20. Really dirty and everything was taped together. Cleaned everything with a damp soapy cloth and it looks and plays great. Not yellowed or chipped at all. The 3rd party controller is dead but I can still flip the rest for at least $30 since I already have a SNES. Past on a $10 Genesis with just a rf adapter, the same ole PS1s that are always there, and a $20 N64 with cables and a weird 3rd party controller with 2 analog sticks

Stopped by my three favorite thrifts today. Only one of them had any new stock, but I'm not too disappointed because I was just there 3-4 days ago.

NES:

Joust - $1
Othello (w/ manual) - $1
Battle Chess (w/ manual) - $1

Total = $3

I love this store for their prices. All 3 games with dust covers, too.

Couldn't find any games yesterday at my GW, but I did manage to get Toy Story 1 (blu-ray), Toy Story 2 (blu ray combo) and Planet Earth (blu ray) for $3 each. Also picked up a 1st party N64 controller for $2, which is great because until then I had an N64 but no controller! I also noticed that they had a Rock Band Drumset and Rock Band guitar both for PS3 at $5 each, but I've never much cared for keeping plastic accessories around, and I probably woudln't even be able to flip it for anything more than what I paid.

i got a some things i like today from a goodwill.

Far Cry Instincts Predator for 360 $5
Golf NES $2.50
Xevious NES $2.50

Actually found something fairly decent today. It was 1/2 price day so we went from a couple different Goodwills. Found Metroid Prime for Gamecube with bonus disc marked at $4. Wasn't too interested since I already own it up I decided to open the case anyway. To my surprise I found Super Mario Sunshine instead! It's scratched up like crazy but I figured it's only $2 and I can return it if I can't get it to work.

Oh and it included the bonus disc as well. Nice since my copy didn't.

Not really Thrift Store but Estate Sale:

- 1 complete Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door $1
- 1 complete Super Mario Sunshine $1
- 1 Awesomely bad signed art print of a shitty Battlefield Earth scene $2

Meh. I didn't really find anything of value but I patched up a few holes in my collection for cheap.

NES Pictionary $1
NES Caesar's Palace $1
Genesis Mortal Kombat II (Complete) $1
Genesis Sonic 2 (Complete) $1
PS1 Tomb Raider Chronicles (Complete) $2

I think I made out well for $6 :p

To Goodwill? Hah.

Edit: Oh I'm stupid. I get what you are saying... Ha anyway... Goodwill lets you return anything. At least ours does. My mom just returned a pair of shoes that didn't fit.

Really? Huh. That's news to me. Everything at mine has always been as-is.

In any event, I found a PSone at the Volunteers, and I had forgotten how tiny those things were. I was kind of bummed because I recently bought a fat PS there which works fine, but the PSone included controllers and a memory card for the same price of $4.94, and even had some kind of Madden in it. If it was half-off day, I probably couldn't have resisted.

There was also some kind of plug-and-play TV thing that I'd never seen before; it was shaped like a tiny Genesis, but it was tangled all to hell with all the other wires and cables on the shelf and I couldn't figure out what it went to. They also had a Real World Golf for Xbox for $5.

Still waiting for a SNES. It's bound to happen eventually.

this thread was getting lower and lower on the page so i thought id bump it with my nongaming find. 1987-1989 St. Louis Blues jersey $3 and a can of mixed berry air spray for $1. 2nd Blues jersey ive gotten this year from a GW. Even though its summer I might as well pick them up for that price when compared to like $50+ online.

Just got back from the Goodwill.

I actually saw a decent amount of games for the store. NFL QB Club, Madden 2001 and WWF No Mercy all for the N64 for $2.97 each and CIB. Almost snagged No Mercy for an extra copy for create-a-wrestlers but passed as I feared a possible glitched copy. Two or three sports titles for the PS and a few PC titles including a CIB copy of Grim Fandago for .97. Had it in my hand twice, but set it down as I just know I'd never play it.

I did end up snagging a 333mhz iMac complete (minus power cord which is no biggie) for $19.99 for my youngest nephew as my oldest one has one almost identical my bro bought him for $50. It's purplish blue. They had an orangish red one for the same price with the exact same stats but I passed as I don't really have the room or interest.

Nice pickup on the jersey! GW & other thrifts are perfect places to pick up older jerseys (especially authentics at super cheap prices). Being a bit of a jersey nut/nerd, I've found some of my favorite jerseys at thrifts.

Decided to hit the thrift store today after the gym and scored the following

Wing Commander 1 for the PC (Complete in box) for 1.99

Alone in the Dark for the PC (Complete in box) for 1.99

Conker's Bad Fur Day for Xbox (Disc and Case) for 4.99

Original Gameboy in Near Perfect condition (Complete in box) 24.99 - I know I overpaid, but it's awesome

a box full of Magic the Gathering cards for 1.99 (Dunno if they're worth anything, but figured what the hell)

Update on the magic cards. Apparently they're from a set called Unglued which were just a joke set. BOOOOOO

Yea, thanks.

I sat down last night and looked through some of the cards and compared them to ebay prices and I think I did pretty good for myself.

I have a 3-5 of each of the land types, both halves of the BFM, Blacker Lotus. I'll probably sell what I can in pieces and try to make a lot for the rest of them.

I scored at a local thrift store including:

Nintendo GPX Laserline storage system including 12 nes cartridge sleeves $2.99

Following Genesis Games all $.99 each
College football 96 CIB
Toughman Contest CIB
Madden 93 and 96 CIB
PGA Tour 3 CIB
MLBPA Baseball no manual

Found a copy of Eternal Ring in excellent condition (4.99), too bad the gameplay isn't as excellent :). Also saw sealed PC copies of Batman: AA for 4.99 each but decided against buying those.

Found alot of stuff this week

Salvation Army:
Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis Complete $0.50
Nes games $1 each
Karate Champ
Toobin
Rad Racer
Star Tropics
Skate Or Die 2
Metroid
Super Off Road

PS1 games $1 each
Spiderman
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Time Crisis

Goodwill:
Home Alone 2 Snes $3.99
Dragon's Lair Nes $2.99
Wizards And Warriors Nes $2.99

Amvets:
World Of Illusion Starring Donald Duck And Mickey Mouse Genesis Loose $2.95

I found and bought the following games yesterday at a Salvation Army by me.

Resident Evil Director's Cut(no manual, but both discs are there)
Resident Evil 2(complete)
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis(complete)
Metal Gear Solid(complete but manual looks warped and has rusty staples)

None of the games are mint, but hopefully if my one buddy ever remembers about returning my mint copy of MGS I'll put the complete one I got yesterday up for trade.

Went to a Goodwill last week and I bought Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. It comes in the jewel case with all of the discs in great condition, without the extras, for $15.00.

I was pretty shocked.

Even if its a good game that's still insane that your gw prices games at $15. Mine prices them at either $1.99 or $2.99, sometimes $4.99 if it is in a DVD size case.

My goodwill (went yesterday) had like 5 guitar hero/rockband guitars, and 3 drumsets for those kinda games. priced at like 30 each.

No thanks.

Also had a couple N64 controllers (grey) for 15 each. :/

Didn't buy a thing.

found this week:

build a bear workshop wii sealed - $2.xx
tekken 3 ps1 - $1
soulblade gh ps1 - $1
xmen mutant academy - $1
zork trilogy c64 - $1.41
leather goddesses of phobos c64 - $1.41
office 2003 student and teacher edition - $2!!

Went to a goodwill I've never been to before. Turned out to be pretty freakin good :p

SNES Super Gameboy
SNES Beavis & Butthead
SNES Aladdin
NES Punch-out
NES Ducktales 2 (!)
NES Skyshark

$2 each.

I'm pretty pumped about Ducktales. Ofcourse it was the only game loaded with stickers. Took me a good 30minutes to get them all of (there was one that would just not come off, no matter how much goo gone, magic eraser, or hairdryer I put on it). Turns out there is a small hole in the label where the Nintendo Seal of Quality is D: Otherwise it would have been a great cart. Still a 7/10ish, so in the $50 range. I'll keep it until I find one in better condition and upgrade.
