Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

I don't think anyone here scored one, they just found out that they were clearanced in the system. 40 gb PS3's are long gone probably at 95% of TRUs.

TRU does have an online stock checker, but it only works for some items -- unfortunately, I have never seen a video game related product on their site that hasn't had the words "this item does not participate in the check store inventory feature" in its listing. I've never seen any kind of explanation for why they exclude games from it (makes no sense, really, as one would presume they would track all of their store inventory in the same way), but there you go.

I love the bizarre sense of agency in that phrasing, though -- as if the item itself has chosen not to "participate" in their system.
 
There's a new TRU leaflet by the registers containing $5 off $25 discount coupons for the weeks of 4/11 thru 4/24. They usually work on games from past experience. Something to look out for on your trips there.
 
went to toysrus in janesville wisconsin today

GHIII guitar bundle was clearance 39.99 both ps3 and 360
GHWT guitar bundle was 49.99 both ps3 and 360
RB2 SE full kit was full price 139.99

couldnt find an associate to price check so i actually carried them out of the video games department to scan - setting off alarms in the process

needless to say i was totally bummed. anyhoo, the $20 price is bogus

not a single ps3 to be found either.......

:lol: I'm sorry for laughing but I can clearly picture some person doing that hahaha trying to get a pricecheck and the store being all he's stealing the boxes! Get em! Then some dude runs and tackles you and you hold your arm up with a list of TRU clearance markdowns and yell Noooooo El Hoardoooooo as El Hoardo walks over you arms full of games.

Well fortunately I was able to beat him to my TRU and picked up the last copy of Spyborgs; I'm 2 for 2 so far. Totally forgot to ask about ps3s or check GH stuff, but there was absolutely no one around the videogames dept, so probably wouldn't have happened anyway...

Someone earlier in this thread said they scored a ps3 at that price that's why i asked. Looking to buy a ps3 but need a deal on one.

There are things Hoardos are allergic to, and those are games that are entertaining and don't actually produce any profit for them. If you give these items to them, they implode.

LMAO!! That may be true. The day the recent clearance hit, the only thing that was cleaned out of my nearest R' Us was the Street Fighter Anniversary. Everything else on that list was still there a week later.

This post is the only one about the 40 gb PS3. Sometimes people just post that they found these were clearanced, but it doesn't mean they definitely picked them up.

I guess you could try giving them the SKU # and see if they can check if any stores have it in stock, but I've never attempted that with TRU.
 
Anyone know how much they're giving for a DS Lite trade-in? The official trade-in website doesn't seem to give values for hardware unless I'm not looking in the right place.

Unless anything new is being added to the clearance, it won't be worth bothering. Pretty much everything worthwhile on the list that we have has been cleaned out of the stores around here for well over a month now.

Good luck, I tried to buy a points card with a $5 coupon I got in the mail for the rewards thing and it wouldn't work.

I used a $5 reward coupon to buy a PSN card. Maybe PSN cards and Microsoft points cards are put in their system differently?

I have been denied getting a PSN card as part of a $10 off $50 purchase coupon. So I don't know if it is just up to the individual clerks or what is going on.

Anyone remember TRU having promotion just for clearance games?

Example : 20 percent off on all
clearance games

And not like buy one and get 1 20 percent off

The $5 rewards coupon is same as cash, just like the Best Buy reward zone ones.(I'm assuming these are the ones in the mail you get for spending $150) That's why it was able to work. All the new points cards are in the system as gift cards so normal TRU coupons will not work.

Not games exclusively, but last summer they had an extra 40% off (iirc) all clearance merchandise.
 
I like B1G1 $5 off, that basically makes the $5 clearance games B1G1 free. The only bad thing is if you buy 2 $3 games, it only takes $3 off total, not $5.

Every summer TRU runs a what is usually 20% off all clearance merch sale. Picked up one of the Energizer Charging stations for like 12.50 when the old packaged ones were clearanced down.

I don't have a link to the ad and my scanner's not working at the moment, but I can confirm that it is indeed listed in this week's Sunday paper ad. Pictured with the listing are three Wii shovelware titles -- Twilight Scene It?, Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage, and Bakugan Battle Brawlers.

I'm taking it as a positive sign that the ad shows three titles that I don't believe were in clearance before that hopefully there will be more new stuff. Heading out that way shortly, will report back what I find when I get a chance later.
 
Complete waste of time. The clearance bin was all the same DS and PS2 games that we've known about for a while now, with the exception of Populous and some "Jam Sessions" game for the DS for $10 each (I'll give you a hint about Populous as someone who was a big fan of the Amiga game back in the day - the DS version kind of sucks). Oh, and a shit-ton of Samba de Amigo for the Wii.

The games shown in the ad weren't actually in the clearance bin, they were on the shelf and were not marked as having dropped. I scanned the Shaun White game just for the hell of it, and it came up as $24.98.

All in all, unless there's something in the previous clearance that you still want and your store still has (notably, most of the worthwhile titles were long gone) don't bother.

There is new clearance stuff at the TRU I work in, but trust me when I say it's mostly crap. I don't think I saw a single PS3 or 360 game on clearance. All exclusively DS & Wii and it was almost exclusively shovelware.
 
Received a TRU booklet with a $10 of 50 purchase coupon attached to it in the mail today. It also has rewards R us members at the top of it, exclusions seem to be like every other TRU coupon. It will work on video games, I added $60 worth of games to the shopping cart just to try it out to see if video games where an exclusion, however it took $10 off. Anyone else receive this?

For all the moms and dads out there, Kai-Lan's Great Trip to China (PC/Mac) was 1 cent @ my TRU. For those who dont know Kai-Lan, no explanation would be sufficient. For those that know Kai-Lan, no explanation is needed.
