Toys R Us (TRU) Clearance Thread II

[Friend of Sonic]

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

The TRU here had some accessories for sale for the PS3 and 360.

Microsoft Battery packs for the 360 for $9.98 along with some 3rd party - 4 port charging stations for $19.98

They had the charging station for the PS3 for $19.98 as well.

There's an ongoing joke at work about how Ultimate Alliance 1 now costs more than Ultimate Alliance 2. The Bourne Identity is still 59.99 and so is Hot Shots Golf. Weird stuff goes on in that place.

Dora is a little more action oriented and Kai-Lan is a bit more 'touchy-feely' (someone gets upset/sad every episode), but that's pretty much the gist of it.

I'll just stick with the video games for now, but there's a ton of accessories and things that have also dropped really hard. If anyone is interested, I'll post those separately. As I said, a lot of it has already been gone over in this thread and I've even posted some of it, but this is a big and official list that is updated over the original post.

I know it's not nearly as organized as the first post is, but this is just what I put together in word. I remember someone posting that the GHWT drumset was on clearance for around $26 and when I found only one between all the stores around here it was still $100. Wonder if that person meant it was a RB2 drumset they found instead. . .

DS Dirt 2 for $10 is intriguing although I'll hold off for $5. I think it's supposed to be pretty good.

I picked up Metroid Prime Trilogy and Muramasa for their clearance prices and with the buy 1 get 1 half off deal and my $13 gift card, I got both of them for $51 flatout. Great deal!

Edit: To be clear I did this on April 30th and they still had only one copy of MPT and Muramasa each. Just wanted to clarify so I didn't get anyones hopes up. But hey theres still a chance one of those great games could be buried in those bins.

For your future reference, these are also National clearance prices. No YMMV with these. The only clearance prices that vary by store would be those that end in $X.90.

It's alright if you like rhythm games. Nothing spectacular but it's worth $5 imo. If you see those bullshit maracas attachment don't buy those. My little brother wanted them so we bought them and they were awful and just interfered with the controller registering with the sensor bar. I think you can definitely find $5 worth of entertainment out of it.

Totally agree on Samba.

But I would go so far as to say for $5 you HAVE TO pick it up. Its a good cheap fun and worth an occasional poke. If Wii games had achievements, everyone would own this one for the achievement alone.

And don't buy the maracas, in fact don't but any snap-on Wii peripheral other than a blaster.

Saw something weird today when I stopped by to pick up my check. My store, which generally doesn't have many clearanced games, had a whole bin of stuff I hadn't seen before. I was in a hurry & didn't get a chance to look through it all but it looked like a lot of ps2 games, and for the 360 I remember seeing GH2, Spiderwick Chronicles, Hail to the Chimp and a few others. I work tomorrow, so I'll try to get more info if no one else has posted by then.

Oh & I scanned a couple of the 360 games & they came up $9.98.

Unfortunately for these games though, they are all under one generic SKN Number regardless of which system they are for. There would be no way to tell if a store has a certain title in stock. I think there may be 25-30 different games total for DS, PSP, PS2, Wii & 360.

Bee Movie, Fight Night Round 3, Guitar Hero 2, Hail to the Chimp, Quake Wars, Spiderwick Chronicles, & Superbike Championship (? never heard of this one before).

And for the PS2, I remember seeing GH1 & 2. Lots of DS games (only one I remember is Johnny Bravo), and a few PSP titles too. All with a sticker barcode over the original, ringing up as something like $9.98 bin assortment.

No good clearance found but if you want to see a clean organized store check the one in Savannah. Makes ours in Bham look like the pigsty that it is.
