Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

I stopped by the local TRU and found Silent Hill Origins for 5. It was not marked correctly. Everything else I was after was gone.

The clerk told me a 20% off clearance items sale is on the way in a week or two. Not sure if this is old news or new news or simply a misunderstanding/bogus but the guy was nice enough, he even helped me look for the games on my list so take that with a grain or internet sized salt.

Fun fact- TRU has an ordering system where the store you're at can contact another that has what you want and order, plus ship to you for free, if they don't have it.

I should mention that this is rather new and many employees don't realize they can have other stores do this; they may confuse it with the TRU website based ordering system (that still does free shipping on most things), so be careful the employees don't mix it up, and if they don't know about it, their manager should.

man, i miss the days when TRU had $10 wipeouts on all the major hits ... nowadays, it seems the prices are much higher and the only games that do go on clearance are ones I'd never touch ...

then again, nothing will beat the $5 CC clearance from a ways back. THAT was awesome!
 
There were a lot of sealed games marked as used instead of clearance in my TRU. Stuff like Wireway, Tornado Outbreak 360/PS3/Wii, Onichanbara 360. I wonder if that is a new strategy.

Some stores are actually starting to sell used games now but I'm not sure if it's from their own stock. My store never stocked some of the games I"ve seen labeled as used there.

Anyway, they do have some nice games on clearance that the 25% off is applicable towards. Picked up Trauma Team and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom at a nice price, especially Trauma Team which only recently came out I think. (both were marked down to 40.98 clearance, 25% comes off at the end)
 
Picked up a copy of Qubed for I think $7.xx...my store had this 25% off clearance thing and they just lowered the price from $14.99 to $9.99...pretty sweet deal.

Yep. I almost grabbed that but got Fracture and Quake Wars instead for the same price each. They have a butt load of SNK games for $5 for the PS2 at the Boise,ID store.

Same here. There was not much else there note worthy though so that was all I got. Not bad considering I almost picked Rez up for 800 MS points not too long ago.
 
The 25% off clearance prices stack with the B1G1 50% off on all games $19.99 or less. :)

I got:

If you see a psp or ps2 with different bar code sticker placed on where the game's barcode. There's a pretty good chance that the game will scan at a cheaper price.

I'll give you an
Example:

I just bought two copies of psp castlevania for 7.50 plus tax

Now if you wouldve bought it with that barcode sticker, it would have scanned at 10 plus tax

No I think he is saying there are versions with a generic barcode and ones without it so look out for difference's in price if it has it or it doesnt...

I think this is a good heads up and it should eliminate posts saying hey my copy didnt ring up for what you got it for blah blah..
 
The 25% off clearance combined with the buy 1 get 1 half off is great. Picked up Qubed & Fracture for $11.22+tax. Was going to just buy Qubed for $7.48 but $3.47 for Fracture seemed like a decent price.

Almost grabbed 2 copies of Samba De Amigo but $5.63+tax for 2 copies seemed too expensive.

Yeah, I think Derrick is right. I don't think he was suggesting anything inappropriate. I believe (like Derrick) that it's the generic barcode sticker similar to what Sears had for Mercury Meltdown Revolution a few months back.

one of the 9.98 games be 4.99 or 3.75

so if the 25% off isnt taken off yet about 16 bucks for those two games isnt bad (around 8 each)

Has to be $19.99 or under before the 25% off. I just tested it. I got it to stack if the game was $19.99 or under before the 25% off for clearance, but if it dropped to say $18.73 after the 25% off, I couldn't stack it with another $19.99 game for the B1G150%.

What price is Data East Arcade Classics showing up as in the stores? I saw it today and was curious but it was marked at (at least) $14.98, maybe more.. but everyone's getting it for like $6 as part of the "double dip"-- was it really a $9.98 (or less) game?

Kind of annoyed I skipped it if it was just mis-tagged.

Picked up Shattered Memories, Qubed, Brutal Legend, Data East Arcade Classics, and a YITM camera bundle for $61.04 + tax.

The 25% off discount does not apply to $5.00 games, although the BOGO discount does.

The regular price is $16.98, the 25% discount price is $12.73, and the BOGO price (if it's paired with a game between $16.99 and $19.99) is $6.36.
 
Went to two stores today, although only planned on going to one.

The first had pure garbage titles, save for the copies of Qubed. So I left empty-handed.

The second store had a better selection and I bought

Pretty happy with the finds as I got 2 really good games and 2 not so good games (although the stinkers were games I still wanted to try out... you can decide which are which;)) for about $30.

While there I also checked out the toy clearance and found a G.I. Joe two pack, that includes an "Exclusive Larry Hama Comic":hot:, and that rang up at $5.98 instead of 8 bucks (the shelf tag still had a 9.98 price tag). I think that was a mix-up but it was the only package left.

It should give you the best deal.

I bought two 16.98 titles and two 9.98 titles in one transaction. I asked him to ring it up separate in order to get the best deal. The worker said the system would do it automatically and no need to do separate transactions. He scanned them in one by one and in the end the 25% was applied to all of the games and then one copy of the 16.98 (12.73 after first discount) games and one copy of the 9.98 (7.48 after first discount) games got the additional 50% off.

Of course I handed the games to him in the order of 16.98, 16.98, 9.98, 9.98 and that's the order in which he scanned them.

Cuz I like shitty titles ;) Seriously though, the only things I would consider shovelware would be the 4 Wii titles (Defendin' de Penguin, Pacific Liberator, Pool Hall Pro, Offshore Tycoon) and they all looked at least somewhat interesting to me and was willing to try them for the right price.

The cashier said the computer was smart enough to give you the best deal, but he scanned them in the order I had them in (where everything was paired up correctly before hand).

Same. I read the first page and the last 4 pages and I'm a bit confused on the 25% deal.

Is it a coupon? or a sale on just clearance games? or does it cover all games $19.99 and under? Thanks.
