They aren't constant but they do happen frequently. It's not just a design decision either. There are plenty right in the middle of normal action - not at a boss, not after dropping a bomb, and so on. I do feel that the slowdown detracts from the overall experience.

I'm torn whether to get this or Ketsui. Do you guys see the latter ever being localized here? Rising Star Games apparently stopped bringing Cave games due to poor sales.
