Cheapy, my apologies if you've answered this already but is the XBL gamertag link coming back. Also, will the leaderboard rank next to the gamertag come back?

Thanks Frisky. Strangely enough, when I got back home today it seemed to have fixed itself. Also, when I went to options that button was already ticked off. I could have sworn that yesterday everything was aligned to the left. Weird... :nottalking:
 
Any chance we can go back to old style of that sigs only show up once per page? Too many Cosby pics on one page could make a man go mad.

Man I feel bad for you Cheapy .. you go through all this expense and effort to make CAG better and then you get these young bucks shitting on everything. I guess you can't please everyone.

The Latest Post module will be able to be configured to show the forums you chose or display the "classic method" on the old CAG. Neither are ready yet. Currently, you only get the 5 most recently replied threads from all the forums.

Uh, I'm seeing this at the top of every page and it seems to be causing pages to not load at all sometimes:

Nice cheapy only one complaint. Some interfaces such as finding a member not online IE: wombat is a little clunky. Can you have it all on one page for W's or S's so i can just click find:Wombat on my Firefox!

Looks nice!

Is there any way to arrange front page modules so that the page is wider? I'm on a 24" wide screen iMac and I get a big gray gap to the right of the content modules. When I browse the rest of the site it fills my wide screen fine, just the homepage does this. I did use that text sizing feature, that helped quite a bit. :D
 
Looks great ! It's going to take awhile for me to get used to the green instead of the orange in most cases .

What are the 3 As for in the upper right corner for ? I thought it was to change the text size but I guess not .
 
Like the new look. Only thing I dislike is that I cant see the latest forums posts without having to scroll down. What can I say, I'm also a lazyassgamer.

On the front page? Have you tried moving the latest forum posts module further up the page?

I don't think I ever used Ego Trip, but doesn't User CP do just about the same thing? Worst case scenario for now is just doing an Advanced Search under your own name for All Posts By.

Don't get me wrong, I like CAG 2.0 and am glad this community exists, but it's not exactly philanthropy. This is Cheapy's job. The bigger and more active the community, the more people buy through his affiliate links, the more money he makes. Not to mention the ads.

If Amazon revamped its site I might be glad they did, but I wouldn't see it fit to thank them. That's sort of how I view this. Same goes for SlickDeals / FatWallet / any for-profit website that prospers from increased traffic.

As for PMs, I just make sure I check every once in a while, for now.

I'm enjoying the features, but I'm thinking tags might be getting out of hand for some (tags are okay when they are mature, but my saying a particular member is a baby, a certain member sucks, or mentioning names who have nothing to do with a thread).
 
I wonder if there could be an *option* as far the viewing for the text color, orange seemed nice.....

Feel bad?!? As of right now, some things suck compared to how they were. If everyone just blindly thanked the staff and praised this, there would be no room for more improvement. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism from users of your site. CAG seems to be going in a new direction and end user feedback is extremely important.

Clicking the banner seems to be the easiest way for me since it shows off the last five PMs and give you a summary of how much space you have left in your PM box, too.

Well, after taking a brief tour I must say that I like the new site look. It's a much better feel than the old site and some forums are easier to find. I'm definitely looking forward to the collection system. I'll be spending more time here than I was before. Thank you cheapy and the cag team.

That's something I've noticed, too. If you see a thread with inappropriate tags, just use the Report Post button for the OP and in the report note, state that the THREAD HAS INAPPROPRIATE TAGS. Just as CAG isn't the place for inappropriate content within threads & posts and & pms, the fact that we have new outlets for expression (tags, blogs and groups) we're going to need everyone to be diligent in reporting these other areas as well.

The mod team tries to keep an eye out for as much as we can, but by sheer numbers alone, the entire community can keep things very clean by reporting problems as they see them. Waiting for a mod to stumble across an issue sadly, can be a fruitless exercise. Because we don't read every thread or every post. Speaking only for myself, there are times when I may go into a thread and as I'm looking for something specific, I may glance right over a big problem and never identify it.

lol i didn't even notice you could move those "modules". well never-mind what i said then, it's perfect.

I have the same issue - when the page has a scroll bar on the right, it removes the button for small fonts. Maybe it has something to do with screen resolution? I view the site at 1024x768.
 
is there anyway to customize the front page to only see certain posts from specific sections. Like say I only want to see game deal posts, and wii posts is there anyway i can just have that info displayed instead of everything else?
 
My only whine is that the gray around the "quick reply" box looks out of place against the black background. Other than that, everything seems to be pretty nifty.

I'd also like to second a suggestion of a mobile version or an RSS feed for forum threads (if it isn't already in). I've started reading the site on my Blackberry at times, and would love to see a simple forum viewer.

There might be something wrong with the search feature. As in it doesn't come up with searches. For example, I tried looking for the simexchange thread, typed it in and it could not be found. Found some posts that had "simexchange" in it, but not the thread I was looking for.

Had to use google to find the thread. Just letting you know that the search function might not be working or you guys might still be in the process of tweaking.
 
The new set up is nice but will definitely take some getting use too. The only grip I have is I liked the right side of the old page. I could quickly check the new game deals as well as fellow CAG TradeList updates/posts. As another member said I dont care about most popular because I dont necessarily care about that I want the two previously stated forums. That was the one thing i was worried about changing and of course it did.

I second this opinion. It was nice loading the main page and seeing the most recent posts in the Video Game Deals, Trading, Lifestyle and Off-topic, etc. Now we have to click "view latest forum posts" which brings up all of them and we need to sort through them. In addition, I am using Firefox 3.0 and half the time that I click on" view latest forum posts", I get the message that I have to wait 10 seconds before searching again, even though I haven't done any searching at all.

I'm with Ikohn, but the new look and options are awesome. Just gonna take some getting use to.
