What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Stumbled upon some awesome:

Graf Orlock - Destination Time: Tomorrow
Grey Daturas/Monarch - Dawn of the Catalyst (split)
Boris - Smile (Southern Lord vinyl)

The Graf Orlock album has the BEST packaging ever. I'll try to post a pic later.
Jaguar Love - Take Me To The Sea (vinyl)
Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness
You think I'd like that Jaguar Love stuff if I like the Blood Brothers?

Mos' def'. Have you ever listened to Neon Blonde? Jaguar Love is pretty similar, though a bit more pop- and jazz-infused.

I think I listened to them once. I'll have to give 'em another shot, too.

Check out Soiled Doves and The Vogue while you're at it ;)

Let's see that package of yours, Sneaky ;)

$9.99 at Hot Topic this week.
The Faint - Blank Wave Arcade
The Faint - Danse Macabre
The Faint - Wet From Birth
The Faint - Fasciinatiion

All on vinyl from the merch booth at their show last night!
Nice choices, rabbitt.

My friend grabbed that Shellac, too. Really useful since it has the CD, too.
Uhh... mine didn't have the CD. fuck me.

I did a double-take when I saw Smile, though. I didn't think I'd ever own a Boris vinyl.

*double-checks* God-damn, it does! Thanks for the info, mang.

I finally got around to buying Apologies to the Queen Mary by Wolf Parade which I had been enjoying for some time.

I also picked up The End is Here by Five Iron Frenzy.

Nas - N****R

Well that's the original title. After much controversy the title was dropped and it was just "Untitled", but like Nas said, "The fans know the real name".

He's my favorite rapper and so far I like the album. I've only listened to the first 1/2 though.
some finds at a couple used places

The Lurkers - BBC sessions
Blur - (s/t)
Stone Roses - Fools Gold (4 track single)
How's that Lurkers album? I've only heard of them, never actually heard any of their stuff.

Methinks you'd like the Lurkers, strummer.

Bought Motorhead's Motorizer today. Their best since 1916, but still not as good as classic Motorhead.

Picked up a few records I was missing in my Mass Influence discography:

Dynamic Syncopation single (A side - Yeshua dapoED's Ground Zero & B Side - Mass Influence's The Essence)
Life To The Mic/ Under Pressure
Space Cases/ Clown Syndrome/ Rhyme Placement

not bad for $35

Bionic Commando Rearmed Soundtrack

Dream Theater – Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory

Rush – Permanent Waves

Rush – Moving Pictures

I am slowly working my way to owning all the Rush albums. I have all the previous ones minus Rush's debut album.

Oh and Metropolis Part 2 is amazing...well all of these CDs kick ass.

I finally got around to buying another batch of CDs:

A Band of Bees - Free the Bees
Bjork - Vespertine: Surrounded [5.1 DualDisc]
Garbage - Version 2.0
Grandaddy - Sumday
James Horner - Aliens
Ivy - In the Clear
J Dilla - Welcome 2 Detroit [Instrumental]
Over the Rhine - Films for Radio
Tindersticks - Tindersticks
Various - I'm Your Fan: The Songs of Leonard Cohen

Ivy - In the Clear
wow, someone who else knows who Ivy is. If you dig them, you should check out Blondfire (their name used to be Astaire before the Fred Astaire estate started to bitch). Their more of a synthpop but they're just as good. Both of them threw a pretty sweet concert together a few months ago down in Chicago.

Got two orders in:

Archagathus/Sakatat - Slaughter-Extinction/Ucuz Can Pazari Split
Wake Up On Fire - Wake Up On Fire
To Live A Lie Three Year Sampler
Otophobia/Reason Of Insanity - Split
Nux Vomica - The Uninspired
Kakistocracy - 7"
Kakistocracy/Nux Vomica split
Spazz - The Jeb EP
Magrudergrind/Shitstorm split

fuck yes.

Did someone say "synthpop"? :D

I like Ivy...I'll have to check out Blondfire. Thanks!

other groups to check out if you dig Ivy is 8mm (their considered trip-hop though they're really a rock/electronica band) and Scanners (they sound an awful lot like 8mm but their lyrics are bit darker)

Nice...Googling them now. Thanks, again.

As far as synthpop goes, I really like Rupesh Cartel, Iris, Cosmicity, and (a recent discovery) Midnight Resistance. Check 'em out if you're not already familiar with them.

Xu Xu Fang's first album...the name escapes me.

Their latest EP, The Mourning Son, is a gorgeous mix of post-rock and shoegaze with some classic rock influences, too.
