What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Omg! Finally got around to listening to Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter today. I've always been a casual fan of their's but this album is incredible. I've never heard a record be so melancholic and so happy at the same time. I've listened to the album 4 times in 24 hrs.

Nine Inch Nails: Pretty Hate Machine (remastered)
Dillinger Escape Plan: Ire Works
Skold: Skold (SO happy I finally found this)
Nashville Pussy: From Hell to Texas
Unearth: The March
Street Sweeper Social Club: The Ghetto Blaster EP
Mastodon: Leviathan

Nice pick ups especially Mastodon, DEP, and Skold. :applause:

Leviathan is one of the best metal albums of all time in my opinion.

Look out for the man Mr. Neil Fallon of CLUTCH as guest vocals on "Blood and Thunder". His part starts with "SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND THUNDER! WHEN YOU SEE THE WHITE WHALE!

Oh shit, I had no idea that was Neil Fallon on there. Though I am enjoying it (more then Blood Mountain easily), but I instinctly just keep going back to DEP because Milk Lizard always gets in my head somehow.

Check out Mastodon's Remission as well. While Leviathan is my favorite by them, Remission is ridiculously good as well. And yes, Milk Lizard is retardedly catchy.

Got my Tron Legacy Soundtrack with Daft Punk poster in the mail today.

Deadmau5 - 4x4=12

Deadmau5 new album, came out today. I just hate the fact when half of the NEW album gets released as singles months in advance. It takes away the fun out of a New album release.:bomb:
Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy soundtrack is $3.99 on Amazon today!
Good deal right there. Plus amazon bonus track.

Yeah, was planning on getting that next as well. I Saw them basically perform all of Crack the Skye when I last saw them live with Dethklok and I realized early Mastodon is more of what I enjoy before they get too overly prog metal.

Also downloaded the Tron soundtrack from BMachine pointing it out. I Had no interest in it before hand, but at that price I figured might as well give it a shot.

torrents have spoiled me... :( cant bring myself to shell-out for cds anymore. specially when 90 percent of music these days is complete shite

I didn't know for the longest time then I was just did a random search while looking for any side projects with members of CLUTCH and found this bad boy:

Glad to hear that you're enjoying it and Milk Lizard is extremely catchy for a DEP song.

Most definitely Remission is great stuff especially if you like Sludgy metal. It has such show classics as:
March of the Fire Ants, Crusher Destroyer, Ol'e Nessie, Trampled Under Hoof, and Mother Puncher.

Eh, you just listen to shitty bands then. Good bands have CD's worth the money, filled with wonderful tracks.

Shitty bands have shitty CD's with one song made for radio or a music video.

Thanks for the video. So far I've only seen Mastodon play live twice, once was at Mayhem fest and they were first to play on the big stage so the sound kept fucking up for them, but still enjoyable. Like I said, the other was at Dethklok where they were just playing Crack the Skye and focusing more on the background visuals then anything else. Only highlight was one of the songs the pit died down and this girl with two full cups of beers pretended she was moshing with her boyfriend, then all of a sudden the song picked up pace and they were swallowed by the pit and never seen.

I've heard of March of the Fire Ants, but the other's I'll give a listen to one of these days. Thanks!

l listen to obscure stuff, very hard (unless you wanna order 'em in from abroad) ((at loftly prices)) (((i have a pricey gaming habit to feed!!))) to get hold of alotta the albums in the UK. if it's not Chav-shit dance/trance, RnB or fucking "Indie" the bigger stores dont usually stock 'em :(

i do own a fair few cds but only pick em up when i come across stuff i actually like, Camden market down london probably has the best selection of weirdo goth-industrial synth-metal deathpop shite :D

I went to the Mastodon/Dethklok show in Philly. Seeing Mastodon 5ish times that was my least favorite because of the crowd environment. I went for High On Fire and Mastodon but a majority of the crowd were teens going for Dethklok. They actually cheered when they played System of a Down over the PA system in between sets but were asking each other what was playing when Black Sabbath's Children of the Grave came on. Learn your roots, youngens!

You may or may not recognize the songs when you listen to Remission, but Mastodon played Where Strides The Behemoth and Mother Puncher in their second set, both of which are rarities for them now. I hope they're all Crack The Skye'd out by the time they tour next time. I really liked those shows where they played it front to back, but I want more variety (Hail To Fire plz!)

Your welcome, I have seen Mastodon three times so far. Way back in '05 with Slayer and Killswitch Engage at Bogart's in Cincy. Once at the Unholy Alliance Tour in 06 at Tower City in Cleveland they had a short but great set made of mostly Remission and Leviathan. I saw them on the tour last Winter/Spring in Lexington, Ky with Valiant Thorr, Between The Buried and Me, and Baroness. The Lexington date was another where the played all of Crack The Skye plus a few staples. Hehe that's awesome  and March of the Fire Ants is killer tune. I'm guessing you have probably also heard either Crusher Destroyer or Mother Puncher.

HOF and Mastodon blow Dethklok out of the water damn youngens! Where Strides the Behemoth is definitely a rarity! (don't believe I have ever seen that one live) I completely agree seeing Crack the Skye once is enough even though it is a great album.

This is what I got at the Lexington, Ky show in addition to all of Crack the Skye:

Crusher Destroyer
Crystal Skull
I Am Ahab
Capillarian Crest
Circle of Cysquatch
Aqua Dementia
Iron Tusk
March of the Fire Ants
Blood and Thunder

What SUPER sucked about the show was that the venue didn't know when to start letting people in. So basically we waited outside for over an hour and could hear HOF playing inside and only got in just in time to see them play one song. Though got to see Converge, which was awesome. Though yes mine had same problem of just abunch of kids or people who got free tickets from the radio seeing Dethklok. Majority of which you could tell have never been to a metal show.

I would have been extremely livid, HOF kicks serious ass and is extremely extremely LOUD for a three piece. Pike just writes crushing riff after crushing riff, Des is an animal on the skins, while Jeff keeps the groove going. Converge does kick ass live so at least you got to see them.

To be fair I have seen HOF live a few years back (I think opening for Megadeth at Gigantour) and yeah for a three piece they were goddamn loud. As in we thought the sound was off because Job for a Cowboy played after and they sounded no where as loud.

Eminem Recovery
Best album he's released, but it's a little too close to my own life. So when I listen to it I feel the same as him.

All of the Queens of the Stone Age albums. Well, except the first, I guess it's out of print and Amazon/iTunes/etc. isn't even selling it.

Picked up Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley too.
After watching the music video and seeing members of Anthrax involved and getting it for $7 on Amazon. I Got The Damned Things: Ironiclast.

Plus I can say all the shit I want about Fall Out Boy, but they do got a pretty damn good drummer.
Wow, that was surprising really good! I wasn't expecting much out of Fall Out Boy members, but I can't say no to Anthrax and Every Time I Die guys. I'll definitely have to pick that album up. I checked their site and they're touring in Jan/Feb but its unfortunately the Jaegermesiter tour and they're opening. I'd love to see them live but I'm not paying $32 to see them play for 20 minutes. Plus I hate Buckcherry, Hellyeah and All That Remains.

Still $7 on Amazon and it should be $8 at Best Buy. If I read the label sticker on the top of the disc right, the MSRP of it should be $10 as well. Plus I was thinking of seeing them live as well, but the fact they're not even advertised on the billing means the Jaegermeister tour can continue to suck my ass. Especially at $45 a ticket here.

Daft Punk - Tron: Legacy

Absolute classic! The whole album kills but, pay special attention to "Supa Scoopa and Mighty Scoop" especially the riff that begins around 3:05 this is one of the most beautiful and powerful moments in the history of music, reminds me a little of DOWN "Bury Me in Smoke" which also has an extremely powerful riff that ends the song. "Space Cadet", "Gardenia","Demon Cleaner", and "Whitewater".

I also recommend the other Kyuss albums along with Slo Burn, Unida, and Hermano Garcia's side projects.

Kyuss Lives To Record New Album

In a recent interview with Rock Sound, Kyuss vocalist John Garcia revealed that the band, now using the moniker, Kyuss Lives, will be recording a new studio album once they've finished touring and recording their solo projects.

"Our rehearsals are going so well that we’re thinking of doing another record,” said the singer. “This is brand new information that has been leaked to Rock Sound first; Brant, Nick and myself have collectively agreed that once everything is done live and we’re done with our solo projects, we’re going to do another record."

Come on full reunion!!!

Tron Legacy - Very good album. Only 1-2 songs are like Daft Punk songs. Needs to be listened from beginning to end.

I would like to get the newish Nitzer Ebb CD. Has anybody heard it?

Industrial Complex? It's really good.

Bought Tom Petty "Damn The Torpedoes" remaster this week. Amazing.

Also crazy to think of the drama that surrounded Tom's recording of this album and how good it turned out to be. Damn near every song is a classic.

Reel Big Fish - A Best of Us... For The Rest of Us

Bought my first Reel Big Fish album today. I was familiar with their music from playing.....Dead or Alive: XBV.....and picked it up at Best Buy for $6. It's a 2-CD set with over 30 songs. They've been re-recorded due to a dispute with the label that holds the rights to the original recordings. What I've listened to sounds really good. It isn't a 100% perfect match to the originals, but it shouldn't stop anyone from checking it out, especially at $6.

Anyway I bought them on Black Friday for the wife for Christmas

Just listened to some samples of Tron Legacy Sndtrck.
A lot of the tracks sound similar to the Dark Knight with that pulsing drum thing Nolan's movies have. Sounds good tho might pick it up.

Received for Christmas:

The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped

And several Amazon MP3 gift cards so I can pick up some more music in their daily sales.
