Excite Truck looks like an N64 game when its in motion, I will admit though that not many look worse, but that doesnt mean many look better (if any at all)...
And you still dont get the point. The point is, if the Wii is already outdated hardware wise, then Nintendo, in no way, should sell it for full price. $199 would definatley be pushing it for a system like that. I'd rather go buy an Xbox with equal graphical power instead of the Wii if Nintendo prices it anything remotley about $200. At $200 it should come with the Wii controller, and whatever controller/add on you would need to play a game like Super Smash Bros Brawl (aka a game that doesnt use motion sensing).
Sorry though that I'm not as excited for the Wii as you. Nintendo will have to earn my support. Last gen the PS2 had my support due to the exclusive games, before that I was with the N64, and before that the Genesis. As of right now though, Nintendo screwed me over last gen with releasing very few good exclusive games for the console, any game on Xbox I wanted I could go to my PC or PS2 for, Sony just won me over last time. For now I am still undecided on which I will go for. True, I plan to get a PS3 at launch, but whether I keep it or ebay it is still in question, it depends on how I feel about spending that much money, and it will also depend on games out for it. 360 has slowly been interesting me, but the Wii, while interesting is just more of the same to me, even with the new controller.
See, if the hardware actually
was outdated, I'd completely agree with you. But guess what, Ace?
It's not...for the upteenth
in' time.
What you saw at E3 (as stated over and over again on this site) were a few Gamecubes with Wiimotes attached. They were nowhere near the final product- just devkits. You have
absolutely no idea of what the final graphics will look like, and, just to take away some of your cannon fodder, niether do I. I do know, however, that the graphics can't do anything
but get better. It seems as if you think that HD is synonymous with next gen- when that is clearly not the case.
But, as I've already said (twice), the graphics are
not what's drawing people to the console- it's the remote's technology.
This seems to be the major point that
you're missing. In no way, shape, or form is the Wiimote outdated. It's the first of its kind to combine LED and accelerometer devices, and Nintendo just entered an agreement to acquire
brand new motion sensing technology. This will allow for even better functionality of the controller that we couldn't possibly fathom. People are buying the thing for the experience, not the look.
I mean, honestly- you'll shell out 600 bones for a ps2 with prettier pictures over $200 for a system that allows you to physically take part in a game?
Pfft. You're not exactly the one to give out financial advice, are ya' buddy?
