How does one get this from the US? Do you need to use a vpn or something?
Nope. Just go to the control panel and change your region. The game will appear in the store for you to download. After you've downloaded it switch the region back.

Wow! Microsoft is on a roll. Now Gunpowder is gone from the Win8 store. It really does seem like the end. I won't be buying anymore Win8 or WP games on principal.

Rocket Riot update:

It seems that the games were pulled because Codeglue will be publishing the games themselves. So they should be back at some point. HOWEVER, they will not be LIVE enabled.

I still believe the Win8 and WP days are numbered.

Microsoft being a poor publisher doesn't reflect on the quality of the platform or its long-term potential at all. As I've said, it continues to grow and pick up more developers and games - not less. Certainly the delistings and history of the platform so far teach the lesson not to accept a publishing agreement with Microsoft, however.

Do any of these games work on a Windows 8 PC with a touchscreen? My old netbook crapped out on me earlier this week and I have another one coming with Windows 8 OS on it by the end of next week. Excuse my ignorance but my last netbook had Windows 7 on it.

What is a good price to pay for a microSD card?

I need one for my Lumia 1520 and never purchased one before, so have no clue what the best value is. Also, anyone with a 1520 have experience loading and saving to the microSD on their phone?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QZH7BU/

Got it for $25 back in november and have had it in my 1520 since then without any problems.

Management is pretty easy. You can move stuff over manually and set new apps/games/photos to automatically install on the SD card.

Tower Creeper is new (I think) and fun on WP. I've never played anything like it before. Sadly the game crashes every 5 minutes and you lose progress (highest record, gems, and upgrades). Unless it is a clone of something else or called something else on IOS and Android, it probably is WP exclusive. That is always plus. I hope the crashing problem gets fixed.

PacMan Tiles also got updated for transparent tiles and I think buying the extra tiles work now. I'm not sure how I feel about Pac without a black background. Looks weird, but I'll be able to put them in more places (had a few tiles way at the bottom pre update). The app description also says they Mario, Donkey Kong, and Zelda are coming. Those might look better transparent.

EDIT: Couple minutes after posting this I got an update for PacMan Tiles that lets you change background to black, white, or transparent.

Any extra information about why all those games/apps got updated? Almost as if they found a ton of updates they forgot to approve so they released them now. "Crafting Guide" is an app for a game that got its servers shutdown a couple weeks ago, Age of Empires Online.

the story on wpcentral was that they were updated to support phones with 512mb ram

Mirror's Edge for 99 cents is the Red Stripe Deal of the week.

I just bought it on a 'what the heck' type of purchase because I know nothing about the Mirror's Edge but always had a tiny bit of curiosity. I figured since it'll be a long time before I play the 360 version, I could grab this for a buck.

Best Buy has a good microSD on sale for those that need one. 32GB for $15 and 64GB for $30.

What sucks though, is that all the free Nokia games got delisted, and now only the paid versions are still available which don't count the same as you having purchased it. My phone couldn't even hold NOVA 3, Order and Chaos, and Modern Combat all at once due to the massive memory required. Guess I'm screwed out of those three games now.

That does suck. I just got my replacement 1520 and noticed they weren't in my download queue. I guess they're lost forever.

Snuggle Truck and Jack Lumber contest winners - You guys should have entered! The contest was fun because everybody had to pick a favorite Monty Python quote. The results article has videos of all the winning quotes.
I don't like entering stuff for prizes I don't want knowing that there is somebody that needs it more than me. The games look cute, but gameplay looks meh. Plus now I get to sit back and watch quote videos.

I'm going through my purchase history while setting up my replacement 1520 and noticed The Harvest has lost it's WP8 compatibility along with Big Buck Hunter Pro and Hasta La Muerte.

Not removed from the marketplace, still available to purchase on WP7 devices. Weird.
Yeah, the availability on WP8 was a mistake on Microsoft's part. So annoying they won't let us play it on our newer phones just because the FMVs don't work.

Question - I put a $15 Xbox card on my Microsoft account. I log into the Windows App Store and proceed to buy Pinball FX which is free. I also buy Asphalt 7 which is free. Both transactions go through. When I go to buy Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for $6.99. it won't work even though my Microsoft account is showing $15 on it. What am I doing wrong?

Under My Account what are your payment options? Do you have the MS account listed with the account balance?

You must be confused. Asphalt 7 is not free. It's on sale for $2.50 right now.

Well, I tried this on Saturday, so it might be Asphalt 8. Not in front of my PC at the moment. And maybe I need to select my Microsoft account as the payment option. Weird part is that my credit card is there too because I bought from the Microsoft Store before (games and a controller), yet it won't let me use my card either.

GunFinger is fun and I think new. 8Bit Tiles is out from the person that made PacMan Tiles. I like the Mario ones. Another guy is also making tile apps now to take advantage of the success of PacMan Tiles. Hopefully they will turn out good as well.

They just updated Rabbids Big Bang (Win8) and broke all the achievements. They're supposedly working on the issue. I am inclined to believe they'll actually fix the problem since it also prevents people from making in-game purchases with real money.

None of them really looked hard to get when I checked
They're just time consuming. The only achievement I couldn't get was the one where you have to 3-star every level. Even with the black hole some levels are impossible due to the bad controls.

I got all the achievements pretty easily in maybe 10-12 hours.  It's been awhile since I played but from what I remember nothing was very hard for me.  There was a bit of a grind at the end for coins to buy all outfits but again nothing extreme.

Another repeat: Shoot 1-up for $1 on the WP.

Not sure what the Win8 game is since I can't see the prices of games I already own. So whatever it is, it's a repeat as well.

Shoot 1-Up is decent fun for $0.99. It has a slowdown feature which I wish was in more shmups, that makes the game very accessible to unskilled players.

Of course, every time Shoot 1-Up goes on sale, the overused comments about it's achievement tile will resurface as well.

So I almost can't believe my eyes, but it looks like Ubisoft released a new Xbox enabled game on WP. Hungry Shark Evolution is free, and from the few minutes I spent with it reasonably fun. Not very polished though. At first I thought it was a fake Xbox banner on the game icon because it is slightly differently colored from the other games, but when I saw it was published by Ubisoft I figured it was legit.

^^^^ I saw that yesterday. Too funny that it is a Ubisoft game. Crazy when you think Ubi is supporting Windows Phone more than the Wii U hahah
