I'm using default Lumia 1020 camera app. I need some pictures of the moon for a class, but my phone uses the moonlight to make some neat pictures that sadly just make the moon look like a giant ball of light. Messed around with a few of the settings, but couldn't figure out how to take a picture that doesn't change anything after the picture is taken. Turned off a bunch of stuff, but nothing. I think the picture has to show what phase the moon is in. Worse case scenario, I'll have to find a digital camera to borrow or rent.

Any ideas or other camera app recommendations?

EDIT: This is one of the pictures. Looks a lot worse on PC than phone, but gets the job done as an example. I took a comparison photo without the moon, but it was completely black so didn't bother uploading it. You can kind of see on the edges of the photo how dark it was. I really like how the picture looks, but isn't what I need for class.

I haven't seen it mentioned, and have no idea when it began / ends.

Skulls of the Shogun - $1.99
Ends Thursday

I can't believe somebody wrote a "How to: Shooting the moon... on the Lumia 1020" article. Exactly what I needed. Thank you

EDIT: The Moon thing didn't work at all. I did get one that looks like the moon was moving. I'll upload that pic tomorrow.

Rayman Jungle Run is red stripe on phone. Probably same on computer.

Edit: I just noticed a ton of emulated games in the marketplace. That can't be legal.

And what might these emulated games be? >_>

Pokemon fire red and emerald are on there but it is literally 15 minutes of clicking x on ads before the game launches. The nerve of some people.

More Pokemon were added, few Final Fantasy, and a ton of other PS1 games. Easy money for these people. MS needs to step up and remove them.

They don't make money if they're not charging for the games. It seems like all the ones I've seen (Final fantasies & Chrono Cross) are free. I am guessing these won't last for very long though. Square-Enix will find out about them soon enough.

Is there a way to copy saved games to another WP8? I have several games on my old phone that I would like to move over to my new one, but I don't want to lose my saves and start from scratch.

All indications so far point to "No".

Depends on the games maybe? I got Kingdoms and Lords to transfer because of the cloud save but I lost others. Ice Age Village was probably the one I was most upset at. I got a lot done in that game and just lost it. Probably depends on the specific games you're talking about.

I tried a few. They all had ads and ran horribly.

When I upgraded last year I looked everywhere online for a list of WP8 games that support cloud / transferable saves. I even created a few threads on various forums. I don't think anyone really knows or cares, including many developers.

As mentioned, I can confirm Kingdoms & Lords uses transferable cloud saves. Other than that, I got nothing. Some games seem like they utilize the cloud (Ice Age Village, Alpha Jax, Wordament, Tetris Blitz to name a few) but actually don't.

I'm currently juggling 2 WP8 devices and my original WP7 Samsung Focus for no other reason than not wanting to lose my game saves.

I noticed last night that the Windows 8 version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has dropped from $6.99 to $3.99 but it doesn't look like a sale.  I think it's a price drop, perhaps to match the Xbox Live sale.  I want to buy this but I don't know if my netbook will be able to run it without a lot of choking up.

It's a temporary sale to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the game. Game description in the store says 5 days left.

Yeah, it's a nice price but the Windows Store wouldn't let my netbook purchase GTA:SA to download it since it didn't meet the minimum requirements necessary to run it. At least they didn't charge my account.

The description also says that it only supports certain phones...so what would happen if I downloaded it on a non-supported phone like the 925?

FINALLY!! Windows 8.1 update for Nokia Lumia 521 (T-Mobile)

Anybody have any ideas of must have apps/games now that I'll have 8.1?
Hmmm interesting. I think I am going to keep mine WP8 for now since I have 8.1 on the 822. I like 8.1, but I really don't want to risk screwing up the game saves on my old phone.

I'm seeing more and more emulated GBA and PS1 games pop up in the store. What is going on here? On the plus side, better grab FFVII while you can. Zelda and Pokemon too ;)

Easy money. Slap some ads and put up popular games. Even if the games don't run well, people will at least try them once.

Bejeweled Live is Red Stripe on WP

Curious if anyone has had this problem before:

currently I can't play any games on my phone because I'm apparently not logged in to Xbox live. It says something like "there is a problem with your account, please log into Xbox.com to fix the issue" and gives error code 0x8009030e. I've logged in to Xbox.com with no issues whatsoever, restarted the phone, checked my info in the accounts section, all to no avail. Any ideas?

Check the date on your phone and make sure it is current.

it's set to update automatically, and is current. No clue what's going on. The weird thing is I'm still getting push notifications from my games, just can't log in and play.

Go to your privacy settings on your account at Xbox.com and set it to everyone, it happened to me a few weeks ago and that was the solution :)

No dice. All set to everybody already. Appreciate all the suggestions. I'm starting to think it is an issue on MS side. I found a thread from a while back with some ppl experiencing the same issue and it fixed itself suddenly overnight. Guess I'll wait it out.

Glad to see Secrets and Treasures getting another update. Even if you did expect it to get more to go to 200 GS, doesn't mean that it wouldn't get suddenly scrapped and forgotten about.

Seems like those games from the EA sale a few weeks ago are still the same price, so looks like permanent price drops. Off the top of my head, Monopoly Millionaire, Plants vs. Zombies, Sims 3, Sims Medieval and a few more are still $2.99 down from $4.99 or $6.99 like Sims 3 used to be.

Nice review. However, lack of XBL and the missing features means I will go with the Steam version once it goes on sale (or even better - becomes part of a humble bundle).
I thought the only differences were W8 has touch support, Steam has controller support, and Steam version costs more because you have to buy the whole game at once whereas on W8 you get part of the game for free.

I usually prefer a controller more than touch controls. This game will eventually go on sale on Steam, so I am not taking the cost today into consideration.

Anyone else having issues playing W8 games?   I keep getting an error saying the store isn't available and it's not letting my start anything that requires my xbox account.   I've tried it on 2 different W8 devices with the same result.   My WP games still work fine.
